  1. Unfortunately, there aren't many trees down here either Eyes. I like the trees and the green. God knows I am not a desert lover. I'd take Lake Tahoe any day if I HAD to be in Nevada. All the people I know from that state are FINE people though!
  2. I go there frequently, but not for vacation or gambling or even partying. As a matter of fact, I only go to the strip if I am actually doing something there. We've gone to some concerts at Mandalay Bay. Other than that, I frequent the shopping in Henderson and stay FAR FAR away from the strip. Once I leave Northewest Arizona, I don't see myself ever going to LV. But that's just me. My idea of a relaxing vacation is an all-inclusive resort (all drinks included) in Cozumel or Playa del Carmen. One day only is spent at the pool bar drinking Coconut rum until I am completely buggered. I snorkel to my heart's content in a week. All of this talk about she-sharks has me scared to go back in to the water though.
  3. Sudo said: he's from a state known for maize. I only know one Gspotter from a state known for maize (can anyone say cornhuskers??)
  4. Well if Vick was a REAL man, he would come out to the public (including his own communities) and state that he made a very grave horrendous mistake and that this kind of cruelty to animals should stop. It takes a small mind to enjoy watching and betting money so animals can kill each other outside of the normal circle of life.
  5. Heck yes Excie. I remember feeling unprotected when I stopped tithing and ABSing. I haven't done it since. I give to whom I want when I want. I like it better that way. You know titihing is the only doctrine all religion agrees upon?
  6. Jonny, You must have a bad case of amnesia. You told us here at GSC that you and your lovely wife were going to take a trip there. And I know darn better that there aren't any palm trees in Alaska. And those ugly rocky mountains are definitely the desert-like ones around me.
  7. Jonny, You enjoyed food and shopping, right?? ;)
  8. It's the dam along the Colorado River on the Nevada/Arizona Border. It's really close to Las Vegas. Yeah, you were in Vegas. What happens there stays there, right??
  9. You mean all those matches I saw between Jimmy Snuka and Dutch Savage weren't real??
  10. That picture of the story teller must be at the Hoover Dam. I've driven by that spot at least 100 times in the last 3 1/2 years.
  11. I'm sure there are local farmers who would buy it. I don't know what they would do with the auditorium. It would seem a shame to tear that bulding down. The OSC is pretty huge, but it is old. They were slowly updating some of the offices when I left HQ in 2001. While I was at HQ, Howard told us that they took the old ROA parking lot and leased it for farming. He bragged how it produced much better crops for the people who leased it. They could do that with the ROA tent area too. that would save a lot of grass maintenance for them. Heck, the West Woods could be cleared for farming too.
  12. Oh my! That video was EXTREMELY disturbing! I cannot believe how many of those tactics were used in TWI.
  13. My sister just told me about a church in her area who started a program to welcome gays in to their church, and it's not for the purpose of changing them. That's a progressive move for a church. I think it speaks volumes.
  14. I agree here. I live in Arizona in the Mojave desert. We didn't get rain for more than 4 months, and then the temperatures hit to around 110 every day for 3 weeks. I got concerned. We had plants and grass (yes grass in the desert!!) dying. Finally the monsoons came. It was the first time since living in this forsaken land that I welcomed them.
  15. Driving a modcat5? What does one look like? :)

  16. Those kind of "IFs" make it harder to leave if you were already involved. I think the hardest part for most to leave right now is the fact that they are leaving God's ministry. That mind-set in itself can be the hardest thing to break. I dealt with those thought for several months even after leaving. I was waiting for the adversary to come in and break me. The hardest part after leaving was ridding myself of waybrain. I still steer clear of any group who promotes they have more truth than anyone else.
  17. You don't come here too often, why now? You don't have to read what's written about him. It will be said whether you are here or not. So why is everyone getting their panties in a wad about the new MOG getting his image hurt? History shows the past MOGs have done a good job hurting their own images no matter how much righteousness they claim.
  18. I was told if you smoke, you better do it with believing.....sigh. I'm almost sure this mentality came down the waytree. Does believing make people invincible? A lot of wayfers think/thought so. There are only a few people in the world whose genetics are strong enough to fight the carcinogenic effects smoking causes.
  19. He said he wasn't in TWI. He must have been in an offshoot.
  20. Before seeing any death certificates or anything else on the internet, did anyone here know that VPW died of cancer? Where I was, we were NEVER told what sickness caused his death.
  21. I remember Craig mentioning that VPW told him he wanted him to minister to him. What a lot of pressure to put on a person. In TWI, "ministering" alway seemed to have a bigger connotation than just prayer. It was like someone saying "I want you to heal me." That time frame may have been before he was starting to give up.
  22. Abi asked why didn't they have the household pray. They did in a round-a-bout way. We had 24 hours of prayer for him. We just didn't know the exact details. You know SITing is perfect prayer, and God knows what the need is. Boy did they use that to their advantage.
  23. Foot kisser...lolol!!! I thought that sounded kinda funny. If you want to say arse as a curse word, you have to type it like @$$.

    Truck Art

I agree with George. There seems to be similar backgrounds on several of them, and they have the same bumper....hmmmm.
