  1. cool. lindy. i think you just bit the t-rex on the weenie... :D--> after all, what better view is there than that view from a place of emptiness? and where is found more clarity and honesty than in the naked pupil of an eye? oh, speaking of black holes and such...Biggest Space Explosion Creates Giant Bubbles
  2. re: 27th wc. we started with 12, not sure how many graduated, tho i heard only 1 or 2.
  3. def, perhaps its not just a matter of if, but even moreso when. one can choose to "enter heaven" now, or later, or much later, or much much later, or much much much much later, etc.... but eventually, everything and being is gonna figure it out one way or another. is God patient enough? has eternity got a reason to hurry or stop?
  4. a good simple question might be: is one's perception of "Christ" universal or not? is one's Christ merely universal but... ...but what? honestly if the mind of Christ is where enmity and seperation end... ...does it?
  5. problem is, i think just about any one of us here are now more qualified to teach innies about freedoms than they can teach us. and, of course, that would most likely not be on the menu.
  6. i hear ya E. like i mentioned earlier, i know someone who felt their house vibrating all night (before they read the news), and also a few normally healthy people who have mysteriously puked. makes me wonder.
  7. Tsunami Adds to Belief in Animals' 'Sixth Sense' an instinctual aspect "noah's ark" perhaps?
  8. yeah, Dave. that 3 minute thing really is an extreme sport of breathwork. like mountain climbing or skydiving. for the record: 90% of good useful enlightening breathwork is not as intense or risky. wow, krys. that is interesting, considering how our human bodies are also bodies within bodies within bodies of water. i think as we (as individuals and bodies) continue to compare the workings of inner-individual biologies with the fields of outer ecologies, we will see more groovy insights. inner ecologies/outer collective biology (the world as one body/organism). just as in the outer world, within each of us are ecosystems of vegetable matter, insect matter, wind, gas, rain, electricity, fire, mineral, crystal, etc... lions and tigers and bears, oh my! ;)--> heck, some cells even make vehicles for themselves. build and nations and armies and go to war. ;)--> of course, if one wants to go back to the Biblios and re-read some of the allegoric references in light of this, as also somewhat literal again, but applying to the body/soul/spirit of the interior life...we might see less conflict over pie-in-the sky vagueries, and more nitty gritty and nuts and bolts wisdom. the firmament between heaven and earth, it seems, is less than skin deep. like the mirror-skin of a lake, perhaps. as it is above, so it is below.
  9. this is too cool Dave. keep it coming. pnuema hagion...the comforter cometh... ;)--> this might sound strange, but it might also interest you. i've learned and experienced and trained myself, using a variety of techniques, that if i sit (not s.i.t.) undisturbed and work at it for about a half hour or so, i can get into this comfortable circular breathing rhythm that takes at least 3 minutes to cycle thru a single full body/mind breath. tho, i must say again, this kinda stuff is kinda like the red pill in "The Matrix." there are observable inner and outer transformative effects from breathwork. if you pursue it, you'll most likely never be the same again, mostly, cuz its not just another translation of "spirit." its more like an actual activation/praxis. which takes discipline to do it well. like playin with fire and wind. wise & harmless. :)--> imo, its part of why S.I.T. had at least slight transformative effects on some... to exhale (as mere speech) for such a prolonged period can't not affect the character of one's "pnuema hagion." like how monks chant their long-a$$ vibrating oyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyys, or whatever. anyway, for what its worth... i hope i didn't sound too much like an a$$.
  10. i hear ya, e. here's this:Quake May Have Made Earth Wobble--US Scientists
  11. for the record.... :)--> i wouldn't go as far as to say that our methods of harvesting geological things caused this earthquake, or any other large earthquake, for that matter. heck, at times, some of "it" might even help settle what might have been an larger earthquake. but what if, lets say, qualities such as the strength or width or probability of earthquake might be pushed 1%-5% because of the man-made pockets and such? and, considering the increasing population density of the planet, it seems another step in an ethical direction for the whomevers in the energy industry to consider these kinds of thing before drilling. after all, satellite is gonna just keep getting better at seeing this kind of techtonic stuff. but if they can and know to and dont use it for profit reasons... my connecting oil and earthquakes was mostly one out of curiosity...my "sadness" pointing more towards the idea that the subject itself seems less likely to be approached in the public arena due to the wrestling extremes of blame and shame and greed (trapped/obsessed mega-consumptive energy industry/society vs idiot and only-retro expressions of environmental concern and care), and therefore possibly less likely to be approached by legit science means. on a side note...(has nothing to do with earthquakes) herbiejuan, you might be interested in a paper done on whats being called a "Peak Oil Crisis" by Matt Savinar. if any one is interested, i've got a pdf of it. back to the subject satori started... again, advancements in our abilities and ways to measure these global things is a rapidly evolving field, and a subject that somewhat fascinates me (growing up on a diet of sci-fi). i recall coming across some real ambitious papers and sites for such projects.
  12. hi all. hi satori. god. who can't feel this one? it hurts on so many levels. i know of a very highly sensitive someone (not me) who was up all night and morning trying to find out what was vibrating everything in the house. "felt like an earthquake" they said. no sh!t. and this was long before the news was heard by them, of course. anyway, the world (and its heart) got rang like a gong. fer sure. deep breath. on a side note: sometimes i think we sadly underestimate the effects of our removing such a mass of matter from deep geologic regions (fossil feuls and such). though, this is probably has only a marginal effect, thats one camel's back i would not want to add so many straws too. i have a friend in FEMA who is most likely already on a plane. peace to all,
  13. hi all. been kinda following this interesting thread. if i may.... perhaps all that really changed was their (Jesus and whomever he impressed) ability to "get it?" And the universe just plodded along with its usual evolving craziness. Though, of course, this new magnitude of "getting it" (like any new magnitude would) kinda also changes the universe in many ways, especially in how these folks could now help people (and new ways to .... them off) as it pertains to the administrations/divine chunks of time...perhaps all this splitting hairs over laws and vague testaments is in the way of seeing that it really is a simple matter of day after day after day (on big and little clocks all at once). there is no such thing as the "last" day. though this is not to say that "days of the lord" do not come and go (as in ages) one day....such and such applies, the next day, all kinds of crap has changed. simply cuz it has. if God just is, and whatever changes are just are, then there still seems a divine hand in things, imo. the obvious and the irrevocable suchness as it is...divine no matter how you approach it also, how much more vast has the entire universe gotten in the past 2000 years? ten times larger? a hundred times larger? a thousand? regardless, even ten times is enough to change the unfolding perceptions of time itself, I would say (in all perceptions that are not simply timeless). perhaps as the wheel grows, its revolutions do as well. and so a new brighter day dawns. and we are a bit more confused but also a bit more wiser and so fasten yer friggin seatbelts... :)--> +ODD
  14. hi Song, Or a good book, or even a decent sense of self care and patience. The inner instructor can be reliable too (perhaps even more so), depending on one's style of learning. Also, what qualifies and certifies an instructor in breathwork these days is not so cut and dry. In competing for business with alternative medicines, some areas of conventional medicine are just slapping together "yoga wings" and calling them certified (not to mention how some circles of alternative medicine are as overpriced and faddish as conventional meds). No one mentioned anything about doing such things "in a week." I do not see the value of dire warnings of "serious risk of injury"...just sitting there on the page all by themselves. I agree. So have fun, be careful, shop around, be patient, test and sample, get pos & neg feedback, etc... Most of all, because you care about your body and mind, your will can be as patient and loving with it as you would a wife or a child (or a bonsai tree... :)--> ). peace dude peace all +ODD p.s. David. I started a Private Topic to help you test your account. also, your account can be set up to send you an automatic email whenever someone posts a PT (so you don't have to keep checking in on them).
  15. thanks for the response, David. :)--> lol! ok, this is how i do it... - first, click and hold to shade the text you want to copy. - once selected, hold down the "Ctrl" button and hit the "c" button. - (this takes a temporary snapshot of the shaded text) - then, on the GSC Reply window, click on the blue square that looks like this: "..." - you'll see two bracketed "quotes" appear in your message. - set yer cursor between the brackets, and then hit "Ctrl" and "v" to paste that snapshot. give it a shot when you get a chance, see how it works. :)--> re: the private messaging problem...from the humorous way you described it, I can't tell if its user error or a glitch in your acount. Sounds like the latter, tho. If you figure it out, let me know. Either way, I look forward to your further replies. After PFAL and such, I can really appreciate this approach to just about anything: Regards, +ODD
  16. reading thru again, David, and this really caught my attention... I think you might enjoy Integral Theory
  17. hi all you fellow greasers. long time no see. feels like visiting an old neighborhood cafe after having been on a long wild trip. and hello again, David. thanks for the invite, sir. i've enjoyed peeking at your thread from time to time. i almost didn't catch this...(and gawsh, I do hope you were talking about what I wrote...) (btw - if you haven't yet, you should look into private topics sometime. we get automatic email notification when someone starts one. kinda cool. ) well, i wouldn’t call anything i say “proper” ;)--> but thanks a mil for making such a big-little space for this. rare thing to find out there. i tell ya. permit me to ramble a sec... (an hour goes by) ok, i’ve tried to write out a coherent response, but words fail me at times. or rather, overwhelm me at times. what a vast, complex subject, breathwork. just looking at it, i would hate to be held responsible for such a rambling mess (which is why i prefer singing, i guess. if I could, I would hang out and sing all day...). so I’ll just try to summarize.... I am currently studying and practicing viewing breathwork on many levels, moving back-and-forth from an inwardly individual perspective to outwardly collective perspective (and all points in between). i could write a book, but i'm still too busy reading it. maybe in a decade or so. who knows... so, what in particular did i say that got your attention...? that helps me a ton. i’m no expert or anything. but i’ve read and done a lot of things. and i see quite a few things that keep our modern western society and individuals from exploring the “gift of breath” as any sort of high priority (let alone any prime directive): (i hope no one hates me after i post it. its nothing personal, honestly. its off the top of my head...) - fundamentalisms grip on shallower scriptural and traditional meanings of breathing and spirit and soul and such (globally, it seems) - ego-trips and shallow bad examples and commercialized versions of breathwork (let alone anything metaphysical or mystical) - a fear/ignorance/hate/whatever of east and old (yoga, prana, ayurveda, etc...) - a fear/ignorance/hate/whatever of west and new (psychology, technology, etc...) - unhealthy relationship between business and science and medicine and healing. - a societal ADD (impatience is possibly the #1 block to any breathwork). - self-destructive and emotionally addictive diets and habits (not to mention off-the-charts wastefulness) - smoking and pollution and air/water that is damaging to way more than just the lungs (also to the heart and mind). and as much as I love this forum and the people of it (all us greezy greezers :)--> ) (clink!) and considering...there is a lot of taboo and cynicism here (mwah). also a lot of old and new illness, which makes it even harder to approach a new topic with the required compassion and care, especially if one also has to aggressive defend what yer talking about at the same time. what a drain. especially considering how many are sick and how such free, simple things like breathwork can help whatever else they are doing to get better. who knows...maybe cuz I mentioned it up front, this won’t attract a dogpile of Penn and Tellers (who cracks me up-btw-such lovable a$$holes). and so we can get on with things. btw – I don’t think this place is not uniquely ill or anything (though it is unique)... ...welcome to earth, 2004, I guess. And I am somewat of a freak. ;)--> anyway, now, for a little of the amplification you requested...:)--> ...on a more positive note in my personal life, i have understood and practiced and experienced breathwork in some of the following ways (but I’ll stick to the physical mostly)... - to aid in processing food (the better the food, the better the relationship with breath) - to massage and stimulate vital organs (comes in handy for dealing with all sorts of "lower" things - especially during the holidays!) - to generate more compassion in my heart and body (this can even get euphoric and blissful) - to open up and oxygenate cavities in the body and throat and skull (oxygenating the brain) - to heat and cool various centers (such as hormonal) of the body/mind - to help sustain and intensify and deepen sex and affection (for both, of course) - to help guide energy and concentration and compassion in bodywork techniques - as a very potent centering aspect of prayer and meditation (and lucid dreamwork) - to get thru this groovy video game that measures heartrate and biofeedback and I’m sure I missed quite a few... warning, you can overdo it with breath. (of course I have). which is why I try not to get into too much detail. but the info is out there. or I’ll get specific in private. just be safe. have fun. wise as serpents, harmless as doves, right? and, by far, my most favorite and endearing expression of all my breathwork (and diet) is right from the Bible. From Genesis to Revelation, yada yada... Anything I learn about breathwork from east and west (and north and south) continues to amplify what sits right in that canon. hmmmm.... Anyway, as always, also feel free to email or private message for details. But note, I am more of a wandering minstrel than a bona fide expert. so i aint selling anything or making promises. Take it or leave it. thanks again for opening it up, David. and judging from all your work and experience in this kind of subject, i look forward to and honor whatever might resonate here. peace, +ODD p.s...start thinking of all air as your food and all food as your medicine...see what happens
  18. hi all. wonderful product, David. Heerz something to possibly augment the idea: The fact that most people use such a very small portion of the total breathing capabilities of the human body. And not only in volume of breath, or depth of breath, but also in diverse ways of breathing, and therefore, diverse ways of oxygenating both body and mind. And also, using some of these ways of breathing to more fully process and regulate energies (such as oxygen saturated water) and thoughts (such as prayer) and activities (like sex... :P-->). imo, the breath is most likely the most diverse and powerful biological tools we have, and tragically underestimated and underappreciated. And considering also how it works with the water and nutrients moving through our body... Anyway, for what its worth, be careful, have fun, good luck, all that stuff, Todd We're gonna meet him in the clouds, he said... :P-->:D-->
  19. god. wow. just passin thru. what a story. i'll say this... to be able to live and die with grace is that very rest we say we seek even tho we've had it all along since the beginning of time peace, Todd
  20. hi all, just passin thru again... :)-->imo, this form of "miraculous dialogos" is a bit more generic than canonical thinking will generally allow. though, by "generic," i don't mean common. I mean Generic. :)--> Kinda. imo, a fool seeks em for proof. simply cuz they can't find em. that the wise doesn't seek does not mean the wise don't see them. the wise simply don't have to waste their time seeking. cuz they have already found them. everywhere. already. in all things. as usual. they might even yawn at them. or sing them praises all day long. for what its worth, peace... :)-->
  21. hi, all hi, abi came across this scrap of a page in my wanderings: integral kabbala reminded me of this/your thread re: a different method of study. gotta be registered for the videos and such to download em...bummer...but I still post it because, imo, even the textual summaries are deep and high and wide enough to glitter and sparkle quite a bit...perhaps even resonate with some of us ex and former scripture-junkies. anyway, I hope you enjoy Todd :)--> mwah
  22. seems to me the great ocean continues to give up more and more of its dead as The day wears on thank god...
  23. I think you nailed it, Song. Only JL aint anywhere near the eye of the storm. --- Mere religion has a way of giving titles without merit. And so a man calls himself a prophet or a preacher or guru some other thing, and does most of his preaching Spirit in front of people who already agree. Also, this type stands alone in front of a crowd, who are only allowed to clap, mostly. If there is any sort of dialogue about Spirit, it is isolated or private. Among peers only. woop dee doo Sometimes, they'll even go as far as to get a handful of their prophets on a stage, talking to each other, which is not much, seeing as how they already only agree. Seekers of pleasure and comfort when it comes to spiritual dialogue. --- John Lynn, (and ilk) Seems to me, that if someone if gonna go around saying they have something Spiritual to offer, they ought to be skilled enough to sit among people of different religions, engage in a meaningful dialogue about differences and similarities, including, fielding questions from the unpicked crowd, and thus, be able to prove some level of merit as "one of God's special people." Do it live and uncensored. And without a freakin social safety net. Here is one example: Contemplative Dialogue If one's bag of spiritual tricks are supposed to be the cure-all for humanities ills, then WHY NOT enter the social wilderness, alone, "armed only with God," make peace with "enemies," heal the sick, solve problems, offer wisdom and vision? Unless the devil has got you on the run. Let the sins/ills/complaints of all rise to heaven like the smoke of a cigar and deal with it. And be drawn to it. Get beyond merely talking about how "it" was done so long ago. Get beyond seeking the company of mostly agreement. Get to doing it in spite of the hurricane. (The hurricane only comes to heal the sick, anyway). Try sitting alone among a group of strangers and "wow them" with the wonders of your God. Or seek the company of the "antagonist" and grow from the struggle. Jacob did, whom we revere. So did Jesus, whom we adore. So did Paul, whom we admire. God spoke to Job from eye of the whirlwind. Just as He is heard in silence. Just some thoughts. Perhaps you have tasted them a few times. I say, make it and keep it a habit before you diminish yourself further. thanks again Song. peace all may we continue to find richer and richer soil to grow in. Todd
  24. Can this be kinda like sex with Jesus? lol! :D-->
