  1. Did you see the movie? Have you every felt trapped like an animal in a cage? Every way you would turn would lead to a dead end. Wasn't TWI just like this. You were told that if you left you would no longer have God's protection. You would lose all you rewards. Your body would be subject to the whims of the adversary. Your finances would melt away. You would lose all your relationships with the household of believers. Just the oppisite is true. My life is better very way. I have better friends -ONES THAT I CAN ACTUALLY TRUST. I am finanically more sound-I HAVE CARS THAT AREN'T RUSTED OUT AND A NICE HOME. I am happier than I have been in years.-I DON'T HAVE ALL THAT GUILT TO WORRY ABOUT. Physically I'm more relaxed and feel healthier.-(SAME AS ABOVE) Whay a bunch of bunk. - All FEAR TACTICS I may not be a millionaire but at least I am doing what I can to help people without taking their money. TWI has millions they are sitting on but do nothing with it. Isn't it funny that everything they do, they want money for it. Glad they have to live with that on their conscience. Didn't JC say to give asking nothing in return?
  2. I think the ministry is in "sleep" mode. Maybe they all need to restart their computers.
  3. Yea Sky, I can just picture VP and his cohorts sittin' around the table figuring out how they were going to set up their own class. First thing Vic says is well wer're going to make a killing off of BGs class. No one's doing anything like that here in the U.S. We'll just change some terminology and spice it up a little with some charts and no one will know the difference. Then the old Vicster says, I just read a book on how to get people motivated. It says you have to tell personal stories to get your message across. Anyone got one? Uncle Harry pipes up, I just bought some red drapes and got them for a steal. Vic says yea and you'll probably make a suit for yourself out of the leftover material. (Some oldtimers will get this one).
  4. Thanks Sky, that was interesting research. Funny how the ministry in Canada has so much money, yet they don't spend any of it. They do absolutely nothing for their people. The believers there pay for everything anytime there is an event. On top of that most of them are having serious financial problems. I know firsthand there are only a few fellowships left in Canada. Let the ministry choke on it's money.
  5. Yep Jim-I don't think LOY could even be the CEO of a Fortune Cookie Corporation.
  6. I applaude you Rascal. Thanks for speaking up. That does indeed take courage
  7. I have just finshed a book called-The Reformation-By Dairmaid MacCullough I have read a few books on the reformation but this one was very detailed. It's all about control. Religion tries to control your mind, your actions and your finances. It was interesting to note that the only time the King of France was a protestant the city of Paris would not allow him to enter. In fact he put Paris under siege and thirty thousand people starved to death in the name of Catholicism. He eventually ended the siege and converted to Catholicism so he could continue as King. After this the city of Paris allowed him to enter and accepted his reign as King. All this in the name of religion. I was amazed to see the Protestant cause was under relentless vicious attack because of the loss of control it offered the Catholic rulers. This helped me to understand why it was so hard for me to change my mind about what I had been taught as truth. Religious beliefs are very powerful. Also I was impressed by the fruit of the protestant cause.. For example the Protestants in the north were more productive in their economies and generally happier because they could read the bible in their native language and make up their own minds. They also made up their own hymns and songs. The subsequent freedoms of speech that followed I believe leads to the freedoms we have today not only in speech but also in action. Thanks God for those reformers like Luther, Bucer, Calvin and Wesley. Thank God for freedom. I'm in Key West right now and you can walk into a bar with no shoes or shirt and order a beer. Then you can take that beer and walk down the street and go into another bar with it and no one bothers you. Try that at a Sunday service.
  8. Back to our regularly scheduled program. The Evolution of a cult. Perhaps Rosie is not the same as VP of LOY. But the fact stands that she supports all of their doctrines and teaching. She was also there when they did all their deeds and said nothing. As far as I'm concerned it's just as bad or worse. Ei-more subtle now. There is nothing new in the Way.
  9. Damn straight it was a war. Twi like most religions if not all are fighting for control of your mind and finances. Why it took so long is still a mystery to me. But I'm just glad and thankful I got out alive and kicking. Now I'm ready to help anyone get out and havin' a great life once again. Wahooo.
  10. Sounds good to me B. I didn't know what that the report button had been added. (have been so busy lately).
  11. In another forum I belong to all posts are sent to a moderator for a preview before they are posted. I know this would be extra work, but perhaps there are retired folks who would act as mods for the About the Way forum. It would keep the undesired material out and make things flow better. Just an idea.
  12. A little something to cheer up your day.
  13. Opps I thought you said Adult "dancers" needed. I was going to offer my assistance.
  14. Don't know if it's a law but I've seen God do some amazing things when I just prayed and asked. One time I was down and out and had no money, I just prayed and this girl just walked up to me and handed me and couple hundred bucks which was exactly what I needed at the time. Things like that.
  15. Yes I'm feeling older physically but mentally I cant bring myself around to believe it. I'm just glad I'm on the right side of the grass
  16. Yep I left voluntarily allright. More like a "run for the hills". Couldn't stand the teaching anymore. SNS's read like they were from a script. (Opps) they were. Way prod. need some prodding. The poor souls had to sing the same stuff over and over. Same uniforms, same movement. Almost hypnotic or should I say robotic. Felt guilty I couldn't raise my ABS to 15 or 20 percent like they wanted. Best thing I did was leave.
  17. All said and done, it was not a good example at all. Now anyone who has a child would live in a world of guilt if something ever happened to them. I think VP just rehashed stuff that he heard without even thinking about it. Just part of the VP the great show.
  18. Have a very happy birthday. Maybe have a strange brew. From friends up north.
  19. Ebay provides a service only, a freind of ours started it. Yes you can find great products but they are only as good as the sellers credentials.
  20. If anyone has acces to her I could help her get rid of that trojan if you have her pm me. PB
  21. Us Polar Bears go south for the winter-(go figure). Gonna start off January in Orlando Florida, (anyone here from around the Orlando area, need some help with directions and airport/car options.) Then off to Playa Del Carmen Mexico, then to Belize -(Ambergris Caye) to be at a music camp with Jerry Jeff Walker. Then back to Key West for Feburay. Hopefully March another destination unkown as of yet. Spring and summer, back on the boat and we're gonna get a new sailboat this year, can't wait. Anyhow, everyone have a great year. May this be the best one yet.
  22. Have a great new year everyone..
  23. I'm all for starting things right away. But perhaps thinking of the new year could inspire new thinking and hence change. Wasn't necessarily thinking about quiting smoking as a goal. What's the matter with staring the new year with chages in any aspect ofl life. Twi was so ignorant about recognizing that any kind of thinking along this line was so unspiritual. Anywho-Happy New Year Everyone. Wahooo.
  24. I helped you out Sudo. Happy Birthday Eagle-may you soar to the top in the year ahead.

    New Year Goals

Remember how in Der Veg we were taught that making new years resolutions was wrong because of some stupid spiritual reason. I don't think there is anything wrong with setting goals for the new year. Anyone have any they care to share. Mine- Get a second career established Get in better financial shape.
