Do You Feel You Understand the Bible?
polar bear replied to Lone Wolf McQuade's topic in About The Way
I agree with Waysider- I think understanding love, compassion and forgiveness is much more important than an intellectual knowledge of the Word. The Way totally missed it on this point. Maybe the question should be did the Way help you to live life? Not much. -
Boys trying to impress girls? Never!

Christian Organizations, a failure...
polar bear replied to Lone Wolf McQuade's topic in About The Way
I agree. When you read through the Word you see God working with men and their families all the way through. fIf people want study and research there is plenty of research that people have freely offered on the net or you local library. Reminds me of a song-"We are a family" -
I think the key here is it's a small one. I'm sure there are many small congregations run by very loving people out there. Good for you especially if you are happy. It doesn't always have to be a church though. There are many fine groups out there were folks can involved in community. We joined a boat club and found that we can minister and help in many ways. In fact the people there are more loving and forgiving than what we found in twi also. Once big numbers, big bucks and big egos get involved you have to run.

Thanks Dooj-you restored some sanity to the threado-LOLFor those of you who like Eva Cassiday's version of Over The Rainbow-here's another good one=

Great post Dmiller- I wasn't top leadership and I'm no Joseph. I had opportunities to take advantage of my position at times but I didn't. I think it's very wrong for people to take advantage of anyone especially women when they use their position to do so. I had no idea it was rampant among twi's top leadership. There were many of us who were Corps who just wanted to serve God. LCM and VP had the choice to do what they did. They wanted to do it. All I can say is I'm embarrassed that I was a part of the leadership of that group and I'm so sorry that people did get hurt.

I didn't know Paul Simon was into the blues. Trick Pony? I'll have to check that one out. Hop that wasn't a "trick question". I love that on of Eva Cassidy singing Fields of Gold. Ever heard her sing Tennessee Waltz. Check that one out.

Answer to the riddle. The video was shot with the band performing in reverse, then the video was reversed. It isn't the 4 chords that amazes me, but have you ever tried to sing a song backwards, lyrics and melody, not so easy.

My son is in France this week as part of the Battle for Vimy Ridge Anniversary. It marked a turning point in WW1. It's worth your time to read up on this event. Hope this link works. Many folks don't know that it was the Canadians who developed the creeping barrage that helped win this battle and turn the tide in WW!. http://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/general/sub.cfm?s...twar/vimy/vimy5

Thanks for the KT Dunstall one. I've never heard of her. As for the human metronome, what she was using is called a digital looper. What it does it allows you to record what you are playing and then you can layer on top. You can sound like a one man band. You can add a drum beat like how she bangts on the side of the guitar at the beginning and you can also add a bass line, then you can play the melody via chords, then you can also solo on top. Dooj--we have to go ballooning when you come up. I've always wanted to do that.

Now your'e talkin'. I love Dianna and she's a Cannuk too. I love her smooth bossa stuff. If you like smooth jazz you gotta get her "Look of Love"album. I'ts got some great standards that will send you to seventh heaven (whatever that is).

Man-I was in for 30 years you wasted five less years that me. Whopeeeeee. I'm so glad for you. Sorry to hear about your wife. She had to make up her mind, either she loved you or a man made ministry. She made her choice. Maybe she will come around. Until then, WordWolf gave you all the info. you will need. (That was great stuff WordWolf I would have loved that info. when I first joined.) Ask for help anytime you need it and plenty of folks here will be glad to jump in. All the best. PB

I agree- I think this guy is looking for support. He needs this. Sure I know there are support groups. But this is where he can get great love and encouragment from believers to pray for him. The worst thing would be to isolate him. Let's encourage this guy.
