I have a 1999 Camry-last year I brought it in to the mechanic to have it checked because I thought for sure there would be things wrong or things that would be worn out. My mechanic looked everything over and said to me I've never seen anything like it. I can't find a thing to do on this car. I had put over a hundred thousand on it and he couldn't do a thing. Now that's a car.

Yes I know her, you can pm me if you want info.

Hey Dmiller-Wasn't Ed in the Way Orchestra?
-
I was in a lead group where the co-ordinator got us lost on a hike and we ended up walking for 2 days straight, no sleep, no rests. Great leadership!
-
Dear Edi-Nice to see you here, I enjoyed your post-just don't give someone the bird

Sorry but I don't trust North American cars anymore. I would buy a Toyota Corolla or Camry, or even a Honda Civic. Once you do you will never go back. Maybe these guys will wake up someday and start building decent cars again.

He was one of the few I enjoyed hearing too back in twi daze.

D.-That's Nanci Griffith-(if you double click on the picture you will go to youtube and see more info.)

I still think the US is a great place. You don't see too many people leaving. If you don't believe me listen to this-

This says it all. He was one of the best stand up comics. There may be a little foul language in a couple of these, so don't listen if you are wary of that. And another-

Mstar-That was a hoot-thanks

Oak-great thread. Bramble and Full Cirlce-thanks for those great sharings. Good question-did I re-evaluate what I was taught? Yes For me it was a process. When I first left I still thought the ministry was right in doctrine but wrong in practice. But now I've come to realize that there were some wrong teachings. Many have been exposed here such as tithing vs. grace, the law of believing, etc. so I won't reiterate. Now I've come to realize that it's not so much about right doctrines but right living. The way did nothing to help me live with love and compassion. I've learned more about life since I left.

Great post Belle- Not only did I get abused for asking questions, I got the "face melt". They had a total meltdown if you questioned anything leadership did. It was a crock of bs. Total intimidation to make us submit to their dumb decisions to do whatever they wanted to. Danny-I was at Pifl 77. I agree that was a set up. If it wouldn't have been that camera man he would have picked on someone else. What an ego. He used to do that with the corps all the time. Just trying to establish his mog domination.
-
Dear Eyes-You have more quality than any of those jerk leaders you mentioned. You are just as much corps as any of us who were in there. So I now pronounce you corps (if that means anything). LOL Thanks for taking the time to share what you shared.
-
Dear HCW-Thank you so much for all you did to help those folks. You were very brave under the circumstances. I read your storey and it made me cry. Those were some of my good friends, peole that I had spent time with and loved. The 11 coprs was a special group of people to me and I always will love them. I can't beleive I never heard of this. Of course I was on the field that year because I was international corps. This makes me so mad. If I can ever do anything for you please let me know. Your friend PB
-
Angel-Thanks for bringing that up, we use Criagslist all the time. For those of you who don't know the storey behind it there was a guy who just wanted to start a site for people who wanted to sell things but not have the big expense that news papers charge for advertising. It has gone all over the world

How about 40 of us with a rake out on the lawn. And when the mog would come visit, a hunred or so out on the drive with a broom. IMG what the hell was I thinking?
-
Angel-That song "The Heartache is on" I beleve is from a cd entitled "The Rankin Family Collection". You may have trouble finding it there so if you pm me with your address I may be able to look up one for you here and send it to you. P B Have you heard-Tell My Mom, Orange Blossom Special, and North Country by the Rankins'. These are also unbelievably great tunes.
-
RG- I agree with you that we should try to treat others as we would want to be treated. That means you have to have genuine concern for others. I've seen that in you and others here too. That's why I enjoy it here, there are genuine godly folks here. I also see what others have said about sometimes the truth hurts but your motive is always to help and I think that's the point of the thread. A friend is there for you. So many people today are so wrapped up in their own lives they don't take time for others . Too bad because they miss out. (there was a good thread in "about the way" on true friends you may also want to check out). PB

Dear RG and Dmiller-Thanks so much for the Sam Bush tunes. I didn't know about him. I will definately look for some more by him. Sudo-thanks for that show tune. There are many new broadway artists coming out, love to hear of them. Folks if you ever listen to a song posted here and the name of the artist is not given just double click on the video and it will take you to the youtube site where you can see info. on the performer. Angel-that was a great tune by the Rankin Family, thanks. (the song sounds fine on my end it may be that you will need to load a good audio player, you can do this for free at cnetdownloads.com. Real Player is good, the Itunes player is good too.)

Here's another fun old country song that is not as well known but worthy of mention-The Big Rock Candy Mountain by Harry McClintock-
