Great topic JJ-What a bunch of crap we were put through. Our marriage was headed the way of the Dodo when I finally woke up and said "let's get outta here". Twi had pitted us against each other. Especially when we started to question them. Wow the sparks flew. It was, you need to get on top of your wife (not that way). Yet the marriages in top twi leadership were the worst examples I"ve ever seen, for the most part. And they were the ones who were telling you how to do it. I now think, for God's sake why didn't I see it earlier. It has taken us time to sort through many things. But I must say our marriage is much better now (go figure).

Okay I'm happily married so I have nothing to gain. I've met some fine people here, some are single. I know it must be hell trying to find people with likeminded interests on dating sites. You don't know who you are going to run into. Some will say, just let it happen. But I ask you, when you want to look for a new job, do you just let it happen. When you want to look for a new car, do you just let it happen. When you want to move, do you just let it happen. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems that twi put undue strain on many married couples that ended up in divorce, perhaps a fresh start is in order. Who else could better understand what you have gone through than someone who has been there too. We have a great opportunity here for people to meet. There are screenames for discrection, you see their lives in their posts, Should we start a thread or even a separate forum for those interested in finding a companion. You could have fun with it. For instance-you females- I like watching Oprah guys-(yuk) I like roller blading in the park guys-(better) I like romantic evenings by the fireplace guys (bingo) I'm not going to start it, I"m just suggesting here.

We could do it in the winter and have a Polar Bear swim. We'll try to come if it's in September or October. I'll bring the Back Bacon.

Waysider-THanks for that Bill Evans clip. I used to listen to him in my college daze. I love his music. I'll have to look him up again, it's been a long time. Thanks all for the great music here. It beats listeneing to those same ministry tunes that we had to listen to over and over until they were run into the ground.

Thanks for the offer, but I will pass, seeing that class again would bring up too many bad memories-you like Nazi-like class coordinators etc. If you read through these threads in "about the way" you will learn more than you ever did in the class. There are also many other ways to learn the Word that would be more fun and less time consuming. I think I'd have a better time watching "I Love Lucy" reruns.

I think twi is totally in the fog on how men should treat woman. At one time I was in the oil business. I sold mostly to farmers. What I noticed on my journey from farm to farm was that many farmers were single. So at one particular farm I had an opportunity to talk to a married couple and I told them of my observation concerning the single farmers. I asked them why there were so many single farmers, was it the work etc. I will never forget the answer I received from this woman, she said to me "if a man knows how to love a woman, he will never have a problem finding a wife". The moral is, twi doesn't teach people how to love. It's all about following the system.

You know you are in a cult if- You think the whole world revolves around you and you little group of twi friends. (Then one day that bubble bursts, or you sart blowing bubbles.)

Welcome Shifra-good topic. I know twi doesn't have a clue as to what agape love is. In fact the "in the household" part contradicts what agape love is. I agree with most here. It's not an emotional love, or you do something for me then I will do something for you love. I don't think God wants us to be taken advantage of, or allow ourselves to be taken advantage of. It's not something we have to do to get favor, we do it because we want to. I don't think God expects us to be perfect at it. We just do our best, we love because He loved us.

The leader has planes, cars, and buses but never uses them to visit his people. You are charged money to go an event, then you have to pay your own way, your meals, buy their trinkets, books, and then are asked to give more at the end of the event. You question something the leader does and you are read the riot act, and then told "you" are the problem.

Thanks RG for the Celtic Girl posts. They are good. They have been playing them on PBS specials, watch for them in your area, they are worth it.

Watchout, those vitamins will kill ya. LOL I have had this problem too. They usually disolve with water. But you should ask your doctor about that problem, if it's happened before. It could be allergy related. Aside from that, when you take those pills if they aren't capsules try cutting them in half, or get smaller ones and yes water with them. The chair thing sounds good too.
