Very nice Dooj. Thanks for that great video, very interesting how they blended one picture into the next. I can't even blend a good drink.LOL
-
Thanks DMiller. My heart is always thankful for what those brave folks did.
-
I get caught with my pants down all the time, it's common knowledge.lol

Now some for jazz-someone did post one of his songs one time but I couldn't resist this fine rendidtion of Autumn leaves (the Bill Evans Trio) This next rendition of Autumn leaves is by Claude Garden on harmonica-(this is for Waysider)
-
Ah, if I could have just touched it. I was tempted.
-
I think this is the first appearance of the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. Notice the girl crying in the front row. American Idol, anyone.
-
Thanks for looking that up Ala-I just didn't have the time. Marc Beneteau it was. Nice baritone guitar. I just drooled all night. Thanks for that D Ross vidieo and Waysider thanks for that Bob Brozman tune, I haven't heard of him. He's finger pickin' good.
-
I posted this in the silly thread but I thought since many didn't see it there it would fit in with the current theme of funny animals. Sometimes we all need a good laugh.

Now for something different again. Listen to this song, it is peaceful relaxing and soothing. It's motown at it's finest. It is a classic-

I know some classic broads. Does that count?

Coolchef-check out the post I did just before Ala posted the King's singers. It says "now for something different. That song is done by the King's singers too. If you want instructions on how to post tunes go to page 11 of this thread. If you have any trouble pm any one of us. Waysider-Love Ruthie Foster. Saw her here last year in a church. I sat three feet from her. She can wail. Thanks. Dmiller-Love those bluegrass tunes. Nothing like that to get your blood going.

The hardest part was watching that 84 year old woman. That "Napolean Dynamite" movie was great, loved that dance scene, what a hoot. You have to see it if you haven't. Love the dancing stuff. Have you seen the show "so you think you can dance". It's just started up again. Some good potential there. Can you say "cirgue de soliel".

Welcome Techmike-Glad to have you here. I have been in touch with Dan Moran, he's an old buddy. I'm sure he would love to hear from you. Dan-The baritone Don was playing was hade made up here in Canada=I think it was a name something like Larmer. I spoke to him after the concert because I was interested in his nails. He uses glue-ons. I want to get more into finger picking, but I find for acoustic guitar I don't get a big enough sound with nails so I think I'm gonna try fingerpicks. The only trouble with finger picks as Dan says "you can only finger one way". Well I'm not that good so I think "one way" picking might be good enough for me to get through some Hank Williams tunes.

Hope you had a great birthday Ala. We will see you soon. Here is something special for you "A la francais."
-
Waysider that was good. Yep you need to be interested in music of the same generation. Aside from this my wife is nine years older than I and we are going on 25 years. Sometimes it's hard but it's still great.
-
I think not.

One of my teenage kids came up to me a few years ago and asked me if I had ever heard of a group called the beatles. I said nope never heard of them. LOL

Okay Ala "music Junkie" it is. Your'e the queen. Unbelievable week coming up here in To for music and the arts. It's called the Luminato Festival. Saturday I'm goin to see a free concert in Yorkville, commemorating the 60s bands. Get this five great 60s groups all afternoon. Sylvia Tyson, The Sunshine Band, The Majestics, The Checkmates, and Luke and the Apostles (don't know about that one) Then at night a great upcoming jazz singer comes to the Courthouse-Susie Arioli.
-
Now for something different. This kinda reminds me of the return. Watch the great slideshow too.
-
Dear Ala you're such a music Trekee! Love it.

We were "way slaves". One year at a "corps week" meeting before the Rock we were told how each of us would do the work of 3 because so many leaders had copped out. They were bragging about how great it was that we had the privilege to do this. I thought what a bunch of b***s***. That was the start of the road to my exit.
-
We thought we had true friends when we were involved with twi. We left twi, and the leadership made up all kinds of lies about us. They all fell for it. Not one has called us since we left (except a few who also left after we did) We were left out in the cold. What a devilish bunch. I guess they weren't true friends after all.

Eagle-I would like a copy of your book, how do I get it. Also I would like to get in touch with Paddy, I knew him well. Can you pm me his email.
-
Dan-I just saw Don Ross and he played his new hand-made Baritone Acoustic guitar. The sound was much bigger and warmer than the regular acoustic guitar he played most of the night. I wanted more. Boy would I love one of those.

Another way to tell a twi corps wedding- No one can give gifts- The reception punch has no punch You get reproved for trying to dance to "way music".
