If you're ever in our neck of the woods talking doll just come on by for your dose of lickin' lovin' and tail waggin' ...she's got plenty to go around!
  4. Well... enjoy it while you can... a Joe Paterno only comes along once in a great while... it's probably only a matter of time until... :o
  5. I thought he was great in "Two Days in the Valley" (a highly under rated film IMO)
  6. "...I have Nsync and Aerosmith and I AM CONFUSED!" I always like watching this bit (and Lewis Black)... thanks Verb!
  7. Some of you may find this hard to believe... but humor always served me well. I did have a few opportunities for fights, but they seemed to almost never materialize...

ahh.. Lingo! ...now you're talking! ...the AMERICAN Bulldog is near and dear to my heart, we have one and she's a gem! (spoiled rotten, but a gem)... she'll be 7 in April, we've had her for a little over a year, the lady who had her before us bred her for 3 litters (her pups went for $1500 apiece) and then was looking for a home for her "retirement"... she gave her to us for free w/papers after she was spayed, we found her on petfinder.com, she's full of love and friendly to all that we're friendly to... she has this inate sense in that she can tell when we don't know the person at the door or don't want to be bothered by the person at the door and will stand there fiercely growling/barking and all they want to do is leave! :) (I should add that, if we welcome the unkown person she senses that as well and welcomes them with tail wagging and licks) She's everything you'd want in a dog and very loyal, they bond very closely with the family and especially the one person that spends the most time with them... read up on them a little and you'll find that other owners feel the same way about them... and that their owners consider them "real, pure" bulldogs, not like those crossbred English Bulldogs with all of their health problems! ... her name is Dixie Chick (see how she's got that loveseat in submission!):
  9. yeah... when we got ours... either 1.5 or 2.5 years ago... I got chumped for >$900.00

Maybe because we are getting ready for another round?
  11. he'd have a lot more if he didn't take so many "working vacations"...
  12. I'm pretty sure they both use local contractors. I have DirctTV and I've never really experienced bad customer service. Heck, I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to call them in the 6+ years I've had them. Only once was I not getting the answers I thought I should and escalated it right there on the phone and they took care of it. I've visited the DTV forums a couple of times, apparently Murdoch has sold DTV and the new folks are promising "better everything" (don't they all? I had heard the same thing, that they were both owned by the same company and DTV was being phased out- that was over 6 years ago)... anyway, DTV doesn't do Tivo anymore and has their own DVR thing that some are tickled with and some are not... but the 'talk' is that the new company will re-unite with Tivo (I hope so as I like it mucho)... The only problems I've ever really had is that sometimes I lose signal during heavy storms so I'd ask some folk in your local area what their experiences are like.... the lost signal is a downer, but I still prefer it above cable and they're getting ready to add some more HD channels as well... we have two Tivo receivers (one HD) and a regular receiver. There are forums that discuss the pros and cons as well so you might want to google and check them out as well.
  13. I guess I kind of "missed out" on that aspect of school... I was neither bully nor bullied though two or three tried during my K-12 years but nothing ever came of it... I was pretty much friends with folks in all the different "groups"... people usually didn't mess with me as I was one of the 'bigger' kids in class (pretty much the same size now as I was in 10th grade)... I never could see any sense in fighting or picking on people... just never did... but I did do some "vouching for" and "standing up to" in an intervening sort of way... that's about as close as I came to fighting...
  14. The Max Headroom Show??? (which was genius by the way)
  15. Carolina BBQ??? ...now that's an oxymoron if I ever heard one! ...they use pig in Carolina for pete's sake!

mstar, do you only step on the white squares on the floor? ...refuse to step on lines?
  17. It's just my opinion dude... and it's just your attitude... you don't have to lump everyone else in with me although you probably will... actually I have a much stronger opinion of you after reading your posts on this and other threads... but I thought I'd tone it down a little for those that have more sensitive ears... again, it's just my opinion... and it's free... so it's probably worth what you pay for it... If you really want an earful, read my response to you in the CES forum... but it, too, is toned down...
  18. no attack dude... I've just gotten really tired of your act rather quickly... now, you could change your approach and then I'd grow "un-tired" of it... but don't go pulling that "who me, I was only..." stuff... give me (and the rest of us) a little more credit than that... of course, I guess if you had done that in the first place we wouldn't be having this chat would we?
  19. bumpy, condescension gets old fast... just thought I'd let you know in case you missed it from your lofty perch... ...personally, I like to think I can spot a "poser" from quite a distance...
