:offtopic: I don't know dave... I think they're big boys and understand the internet and skepicism... I also don't think they ever had any intention of posting any more than they did regardless of their reception... after all, they were only casual acquaintences with LCM. Given all of that, I also suspect that they were somewhat taken aback at how much of an effect the cult had people even though they were "mental health professionals"... but again, I don't think they really ever planned to post much more than they did anyway... I just don't think they wanted to spend their 'downtime' giving free therapy over the internet.

what I'm currently doing is wearing contact lenses for a year that mimic the correction I can get via surgery. Once I put them in I can't read anything, or have trouble reading anything, at arm's length or closer (even the date on my watch). I'm still trying to decide if I want the full time hassle of always having to have readers around (but it doesn't seem to bother Tonto and TBone that much!)... On the price, there are enough reputable folks around here doing it that it's about the same cost (over 6 or 7 years) as I'd spend on glasses or contacts anyway... and I do want to be able to wear the cool sunglasses!

I'm leaning towards some sort of surgery myself... don't know if it's Lasik or not... they have three or four different types they offer down here but the problem is they can't correct it all the way because I'm old... I'll still need to wear readers... do you live in a larger city? It's not that expensive down here (DFW) and they do offer some 0% interest deals...

I too have done very extensive research into the subject (and many others)... but then I got involved with a cult... and, as opposed to what some others have posted here, in my youth I always preferred pot to drinking exactly because of the fact that I felt that I wasn't in as much control of myself when I drank... and (research from my bartender days) I'd much rather deal with a bunch of stoners than a bunch of drunks... LEGALIZE IT, TAX IT, GET THE COUNTRY OUT OF DEBT!
