I haven't listened to this thread yet... been too busy... I was waiting for the electrician... or someone like him.

Murphy's doing very well up this month... some very nice plays and a pretty good bat... I think many would like to see him have a strong September, a strong spring and a FT place in the outfield next year... Gabbard's been up and down and currently has an ERA over 7... but hasn't lasted too long in his last few starts so we'll see how that goes (he is a Lefty)... One thing we've noticed down here is that the stRangers have an inverse record (to the better side) without Tex this year than with him... (and notice that above, when talking about NYY and BoSox fans I did say "present company excepted") Re: Gagne... there was talk down here that there was an "agreement" that we'd sign him back after this year... most around here are thinking "not so much"...

Well... from this side it's looking like it's going to be a very nice deal that young JD was able to pull off! We're pretty much satisfied... especially looking to next year! About the NYY/BoSox fan thing... I'm speaking only of the obnoxiousness/rudeness factor... not their character as a human being... just the way they appear at the ballpark and when you run into them in person... yes, they're proud of their team (although I wonder how many of them are bandwagoners) but they take it too far for my taste... like I said, as do many Cowboys fans... ...but then again, we have been to a lot of superbowls! :)

I guess maybe I'm not as noble as some here cuz I haven't forgiven them nor do I think about forgiving them... As far as "me" goes, I try not to hurt/offend/wrong anyone and if/when I do I ask their forgiveness (or at least their understanding that I screwed up and don't feel too good about it)... My name is Tom and I was in a cult. Not just any cult, but a cult that hurt/used/abused and attempted to destroy people. I blame myself for falling for it... no one else. Do I feel like I wasted years of my life? Sometimes I do. Did I ever hurt people? I probably did, although never intentionally or in a calculated way... (unless you count bringing people into TWI) Forgiveness is kind of 'foreign' to me as far as the giving of it goes... and I really don't think it bothers me that much, doesn't weigh me down in any way (of course, that could be a product of being in a cult for years) The way I look at things is that "it's on their ledger"... know what I mean? It's their problem to deal with... I don't feel like I have to forget what they've done, to me that would be foolish, on the contrary (unless it's a one time screw up) I kind of feel the need to be on the lookout for 'them' and also feel like I have a responsibility to my fellow humans to let them know what these folks were/are capable of (again, unless it was a one time thing)... I think maybe it's the old "it's not a sin to make a mistake but it is a sin to keep making the same mistake over and over"... it's probably that kind of thing with me. If you make a mistake deal with it. If you keep doing it over and over... well, that's your problem BUT I'm sure going to let others know to be on the lookout for you... of that you can be certain. ...but that's just me.

well... I would vote that it's the fans... OF BOTH TEAMS... (present company excepted, of course) it's one thing to be overtly loyal and another to be obnoxious and rude... I should know, I'm also a Cowboys fan, but I'm one for the same reason I'm a stRangers fan, they're the home town team... and I don't like the rude or obnoxious Cowboy fan either... but I don't think they've ever taken it to the level of NYY or BoSox fans... ...plus I get tired of watching them play against each other every week...

I think it's the red uniforms, there's something good and powerful when the uniforms have red in them... as for Gagme... did anyone else see that thing today on BT about how they've had him throwing a lot of straight fastballs in beantown unlike in Texas where they'd switch up things and not just rely on the heat? ...maybe something to that... but then he is a closer and they don't like to be 'set up' men... that was part of the deal here and Otsuka moved to set up for him...

sweetniKa, that was the remnants of Erin passing through your area... really, I saw it on the news this morning! we've gotten a few storms from the outer bands of it over the last couple of days... and there was a spectacular light show from it the other night. I'm on my way (in a couple of hours) back to the keys... I think it's going to be raining there for a couple of days or so cuz of Dean... see you in a couple of months or so!

Saw a group of them on the side of the road yesterday... I think they were hitching somewhere... Upon closer look... they were standing there holding up their little hands on either side of their faces... Three fingers on each hand raised... mouths open and forming an "O"... ...is it really that time of year again!!??!! AMAZING!
