simonzee... I was assuming that you meant that the guy on first got doubled off at first before he could tag up... (in which case I don't think the run counts- similar to a DP being turned to end the inning but not completed prior to the runner from third crossing- the run doesn't count even though it got across before the completion of the DP)... BUT... if the runner we're caught in a rundown and tagged out the run would count if it was across prior to the tag... ...or is that what you just said?

All I meant was that I'd heard that he was a really good guy, a valuable asset, in the room... and that he doesn't necessarily have the power numbers that one might look for out of a first baseman... I don't know how to explain it differently... I was saying something good about him, not knocking him or looking for a fight...

re: Tony Clark (the old man of the Dbacks)... I'd heard he was extremely valuable in "the room"... worth more for that than his under-powering numbers at 1B. ...maybe someone to replace Tex? ...and there's Hafner (another ex-stRanger) delivering the hit...
