songs remembered from just one line
Tom Strange replied to bulwinkl's topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
had I been checking in I may have gotten it on the first line if it's "Spirit of Radio" by Rush -
can't see the first one...

funny (but sad) Twinky! Are these guys famous "over there"? I'll embed it for you so that folks don't have to jump to a different site if they don't want to...
-
WD has it right RG... gosh, I was just funnin!
-
buy the tix hiway... all of 'em... if they don't make it to Sunday they'll give you "credit" to apply towards the next round... right? sorry simon... maybe the cubbies just had "one of those games" a couple of times in a row... it happens Longoria lookin' like Josh Hamilton... Sorry starman, but if DiceK is pitching tonight against the Halos you can go ahead and... well, you know what the score is going to be... just make sure that Beckett is right for his turn... you can get to Santana, heck... we knocked him out early in his last start... but DiceK better not jack around like he has been all year or he's done.

well... he got them into the playoffs so I'm thinking they've already got their moneys worth... if he takes them farther it was money (and future players) well spent... at least for now... btw, now Hicks and Ryan have come out against going after CC and Ben... oh well... we're on about the fifth "five year plan" in the last six years...
-
I did get to experience it one time... sort of... I was in LA on business and the LAD were in the series, I decided to go to a local bar to watch the game to "feel the atmosphere"... it was the game where Gibson hit that home run and limped around the bases... it was electric... it was something I want to feel here... (picked a pretty good game to see at the bar with the locals didn't I?)

At least your guys teams have been in the playoffs for some time... even though the stRangers only won one playoff game it was nice that they were even in them for those couple of years... And that does show Obama has his priorities in order... that seals it, I'm voting for him!

All I could find about Dempster was that he said "it helped him with his rhythm"... There's someone in the AL that does a weird glove thing as well... he said he does it to keep from tipping his pitches... Here's a video I found... it's not Dempster but a kid acting like him... is it close?

When we were in rez didn't veepee always claim that the country and the Dow would collapse if it ever went over 1,000 ???

I don't understand... I thought baby Jesus was born on Christmas day... that's what all of the songs say! And every Christmas they have those manger scenes... some of them even with live people and live animals!

well.. with 2 outs in the ninth Lidge is certainly making it interesting...

Looks like the Phillies are off to an early lead... 3-0 middle of the fifth... Danks looked pretty good last night... we follow him here because he was part of 'the future' at one time... they called it "DVD" (Danks, Volquez, Diamond)... Danks is pitching in the bigs for the WS (we got McCarthy who can't seem to get healthy), Volquez is tearing up the NL with the Redlegs (we got Roy Hobbs, no complaints but we kinda need pitching) and Diamond still hasn't busted through... But we have a lot of highly talented young arms in the system with great potential... we can only hope that 1) we don't trade them away and 2) El Presidente can change the culture/luck around here when it comes to grooming pitching talent...

Belle... you need to get a little sun on those legs!

evidently a ball rolled out on the field somewhere along the third base line between home and third... Beckett was in the process of throwing strike two to Dionner but the third base ump had called T.O. so he had to throw it over, then Beckett throws what would have been strike three (but was now only strike two)... You know the rest, Dionner gets on base, then Beckett hits the next guy in the foot... and the race is on... it's probably on Youtube or something...

I guess I'm just lucky. I haven't had any problems with the upgrade except getting used to the new look. Maybe it's because I have the forum index page set as one of my home pages? (I use IE) I haven't noticed any difference at all...
-
did they ever figure out how or who threw the ball out on the field?

Personally, I found the "door to door skills" good for getting tasty cookies and refreshments!

Hope he makes it! He is having such a great year and flying completely under the radar (as far as I know)... "drafted by the Marlin"... I sure wish we had their GM or scouting group, they seem to do a good job of picking talent...
