Yeah WW... I'm thinking the whole focus on "possession" was just another case of TWI taking advantage of the "mindset" of the culture of the times, kind of like the "free sex" thing of the hippy movement earlier... just another "hook" used by TWI to get folks initially interested or to keep folks ensnared...

Thanks for bringing it back up L.U. I missed it the first time around (electricity must've been out or sump'n)... And a fine diversion it was that he gave us! WE WERE LABELED A CULT BECAUSE WE WERE A CULT. TWI was a cult for any number of reasons: structure, behavioral modification techniques, etc... Telling us it was 'because of the trinity' thing was just one way of veepee trying to head 'the cult thing' off at the pass... Veepee knew TWI be labeled a cult because veepee knew that TWI was a cult... heck, he built it.

OK then... this should be easy... Lord loves a workin' man; don't trust whitey; see a doctor and get rid of it.

well... you know I had to go look... are you speaking of the "holiday special" they were on?
-
I saw Monterey Pop... is that the one you're referring to?
-
I am??? ...are you sure???
-
well... I never saw it but with that last clue the only thing that comes to mind is "Out of Africa"... which I always found to be a puzzling title, how could you ever run out of Africa? ...I mean, there's so much of it!

now that song is NOT from a musical... but there was a lot of construction going on!

Yeah... and it was fun watching them (the Orchard Park faithful) writhe in agony a few Mondays ago when the Tony Romo tried every way possible to give them the game... and when they did nothing with it... he (and the Cowboys) took it back! IMO the only difference between the Pats and the other "good teams" is that they have found a way to play at 95% to 100% efficiency all of the time while the others can only do that some of the time... I have no doubts that they can be beaten, it'll just take a team playing up to their level (or them playing down)...

Pedroia seems like a good guy... and good for him! He kind of reminds me of Eckstein a little.

Ya know... I've often wondered (well not real often, but every now and then) if the whole "possession" and "devil spirit" thing would have been so focused upon if movies like The Exorcist and The Omen et al hadn't been in the theaters and in the popular culture of the times... Did anyone else wonder why there was so much focus on "possession"? That didn't seem to be the focus of Jesus' ministry... just a part of it... but not a major focus. Nero... you probably were shielded from it... just a guess.

Senor Bump... I'm thinking that there are probably no less than 31 teams (and teams of fans) out there that hope that your prediction will come true... not to mention a bunch of old guys down in Miami...

You honestly, really think that is what Joni Mitchell was thinking about when she wrote that lyric? Really?

I'm fairly certain that Mike probably can help you with that last part...

life is change, how one acts to affect change or reacts to change (for me) is best accomplished by listening to 'that still small voice'. ...and I find it very hard to listen if I'm constantly thumping my chest claiming to know the answers or telling others that they don't. Try listening sometime Mike... you might discover how much you've missed over all of these years...

ummm... I think it was CSNY rather than the Airplane. also... had nothing to do with 'God's voice being clear and strong'... it had to do with the garden being simple, beautiful and perfect. I'm certain YMMV... but I think most will get the same mileage I did...

...there's a musical called Chess?
-
See! ...THIS is what GSC is all about!

Here (again) folks we have pages, post after post of Mike's deluded interpretation... nothing more, nothing less... And it matters not a whit that no one has come to these conclusions but Mike... sad isn't it? ...and yet somehow amusing at the same time! Mike, and only Mike, is the expert! Do not dare to disagree with him... it only shows how barren your understanding is...

Why thank you Mike!!! I now have another thing to add to your "synopsis"!

You were in "lurkdom"??? Where is that? Is it somewhere west of Buffalo? T-Bone: what is that slice of cheese doing on your computer? Tonto: are those maps for tracking Word over the USA/Word over the World?

Belle, I used your registration link... even though I have the feeling that since they "require" an email address that now I'm gonna get spammed... ...it will be nice if it works, I've asked the postal carrier if they can just not leave all that junk in my mailbox.. they said no... I tried to register the name "occupan" at my address but it wouldn't let me... thank you (I hope)

Let's see... over there on the left (somewhere) is the telephone, bills that need to be paid and other mail. The left side is the "to do" side. over there on the right is copies of paid bills that 'she who must be obeyed' needs to submit for expense reports, a couple of recall notices for the speed6, and a spiral notebook for notes. The right side of the desk is the "in process" side. In front of the laptop (under my forearms as I type) is the "currently working on" stuff (or in this case, the 'last worked on but not put away')... As stuff gets handled it then gets either a) put in a drawer b)thrown away, behind me to my left c) shredded, behind me to my right To most I guess it looks pretty messy, but I know where everything is... or at least have a good idea...
