I believe you are correct sir. I was just looking again... I didn't realize that for the last 7 years (01-07) Ichiro & Torii have won 2 of the 3 OF gloves. It's a move that's more common than you'd think... one that comes to mind is Teixeira never played a lick at first until he got to the bigs... Congrats to Wedge and Melvin, both seem like 'good guys'... let's hope they're still employed in two years... It does appear (from what I've read) that ARod is doing this "on his own"... but I don't think he'd cut out Boras as it would lead to a terrible & messy lawsuit... but I suspect (as do the Yankees) that it's just a ploy to draw the NYY money into the negotiations with other teams... like Emmit says "a leopard doesn't change it's stripes"!
