HERE WE GO! Let the bidding begin! I actually don't think it would make much difference if the NYY got him... but if those freaking BoSox get him then what's the use of even playing the games?

I started the fantasy thing this year but it was football... I am thinking about doing a fantasy baseball team next year though... Yahoo (and others I think) has a ton of free ones...

Last night Nightline did a piece on Obama... maybe some of you knew this, but I didn't, turns out Cheney is a distant relation of his...

Good advice dooj. Nero, what you're going through emotionally is 'normal' (although it's certainly no picnic), continue to love and care... don't beat yourself up over things... follow your heart...

myseestorEx... don't feel bad, I did that too when he first showed up over on the baseball thread...

I read both The Tracker[/] and The Search. I would recommend The Tracker to anyone... there's lots of 'life lessons' in it... and loads of "how to" information to be gleaned... the one thing I always remember whenever it's getting a little chilly is the mind trick he used of "the cold is my friend" and convinced himself not to be too affected by it... and lots of other stuff...

sweetniKa: did I remember to tell you how wonderful it was to see you and spend a little time with you at the BBQ?

I just remembered seeing him out of the corner of my eye as I was reading the articles...

That's OK... I'm betting that there are a few around here who already know it but just haven't stopped by...

I (do not) regret to say that I cannot think of ANY skit of theirs that I didn't like... always have liked everything I've ever seen or heard from them.
-
...has anyone "seen" him? I never have, but then he is invisible...

I know what you mean about the baggage... while I was in TWI I was pretty intolerant of the thoughts/ideas of my own family (parents & sibs) that was not in... as I grew further away from TWI and their ideas about things I found myself being nicer to (and more tolerant of) what their perspectives and feelings were towards things concerning life and death... that maybe I didn't really "know it all"... know what I mean? Have you (or anyone else) found this to be true? I know that when I left TWI there were so many things that had become subtly ingrained in my subconscience and I wasn't even aware of it... it takes a while to weed all of these things out... at least it did for me... I guess I'm trying to say it took me a while to get over the "I-gotta-be-right-us"... you know, that ingrained thought pattern (from TWI) that I was right and "they" were wrong? When all along I was right on some things, wrong on others and sometimes it didn't even matter but I was too blind to see that... It's not always about "being right"... heck, a lot of times it's about "being loving" (and to he11 with being right)...

Thanks starman, I needed (and deserved that)... Yeah, the subject of that auction sounds neat... I'm sure they'll be stories or a movie to come out of it... maybe you should send the link to Speilburg or Ken Burns so's they can buy it! Now about the girlfriends... only if 'C' is one third (or less) the combined ages of 'A' and 'B'... and no long term contract!

The War - no, the PBS documentary
Tom Strange replied to George Aar's topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
I guess I'm just a sentimental goof... my Dad flew in the Pacific theater in B-24s... I found it all interesting (but I am easily entertained at times)... Maybe the reason it is (kind of) interesting to me is that when the local air museum had some WW2 vingage aircraft in for a show I went to see them. They had a B-24, a B-17 and varioud fighters... the bombers were mostly open and you could climb up inside them... they were freaking small! and just thinking about eight or ten guys climbing in there and flying for hours made my legs cramp! Kind of like when I saw a WW2 submarine up close and in person for the first time, those suckers were small, too. but I liked it... yeah, it's been done before different ways and you can catch a lot of stuff on the history channels every week... but they got me to watch... I did kind of like the way he looked at it 'through the eyes' of four U.S. cities/towns and how it affected them... oh well... different strokes... but I would suggest (if you have any interest in WW2) going to see the planes in person if they come by your area... -
so.... GSG... are you disqualifying me for not having the artist? doesn't matter, I was taking a stab, just let me know...

You will get Laird and like it! ...somebody slap me for thinking (for a little while) that it wasn't 'all about the money' for Hunter!

Let me just tee this one up for y'all: You know how they say we only use 10 percent of our brains? I think we only use 10 percent of our hearts.
