I've always disagreed (somewhat) with the 'length of career' thing... to me it should be about 'best at position' (or near the best) and/or transcendency (if that's a word). That's OK Linzee, "the stinker" in you still has a much sweeter scent than MR... as for the folks going for his wild claims, people just want something to cling to I guess... and with the proliferation of thermonuclear weapons and the disbursement of them to God knows where in the last few years anyone could make the claim that "we're all doomed"... of course, they've been doing it for years, since we were little kids and had to practice "duck and cover"...

As to giving away 'future prospects' in pitching for Santana... it's a deal I'd do any day because Santana is a proven commodity in his prime... the others? well, there still prospects and we all know how hit and miss the pitching game is... there's a heck of a lot of prospects that look great in the minors that never make it in the bigs... I'd do that deal any day... but then, I'm not a GM... yet!
