  1. I don't think a 'wandering eye' or 'cheating on your wife' are generational issues. Maybe the way the wife 'stood by her man' was though. And I think that does tie into what I was saying earlier about veepee and Dorothea's relationship (at least the one we saw publicly). If you're talking about how your Aunt 'put up with' his behavior... that still goes on today... though I'm sure not as much as it did back then because you women are so 'empowered' today... and I do think that's a good thing... So, if the 'stand by your man' thing was what you were asking might be generational... I think it was.
  2. Your Uncle sounds like a great guy (except for that one area)... I don't know Radar... about "generational cheating"... (if that's what you meant)... my teachers, from Grade school to high school would always comment on how handsome my Dad was... and since his passing she has shared with my wife what a "flirt" he always was... he was a very friendly guy (he was always friendly with guys, too). But he never cheated on my Mom. I don't know what veepee's excuse was... he was sociopathic in other behavior, why would he have a conscience about that?
  3. sim one... you and the bishop teaching drivers ed are ya?
  4. Along those lines... (suicide)... it has occurred to me that it was just another part of TWI trying to remain 'blameless' for destroying a person's life... if someone left, "they're possessed"... if someone committed suicide "they're possessed"... it fits... sadly... they could never say "we so trashed their life, their very existence mentally, physically and spiritually that they no longer were of use to us"... or "no longer wanted to live"... that wouldn't have been a very good "witness" for them... so I think it (folks being so lost they ended it all) happened early in the ministry more than we know of, IMO, and it was just part of the "POSSESSED" cover...
  5. where have all the monkees gone?
  6. yeah! parrrr teeeee! karmic, long time no see! please post it when you find it... I'm tired of everything tasting like Mexican food!
  7. I don't remember specifics... (it was a long time ago) but I can remember "ministering" to people and coming up with things "out of the blue" that the folks sometimes would acknowledge... sometimes not... sometimes people would be "healed", sometimes not... I guess it depended on the you and the person... I don't know how it's done today, but back then someone would just say "I need ministering to"... no specifics, no hints... and if you're believing was up to it, you just said "sure"... I don't know about blind people seeing, or limbs growing back... but folks got healed... If it was true, there was no need to categorize it as "major" or "minor"... but there was deliverance (not the banjo kind)...
  8. niKa... let us know how they turn out... (you have my address) :D-->
  9. myseestorEx, do you mean the cheese? I loved the GORP!
  10. I missed that about the BORG! That is a most excellent analogy... part of "the collective". I guess that would make New Knoxville "the hive". If you were 'redeemed' and 'possessed' would that make you 'repossessed'?
  11. I never saw my Dad use it either (and it never happened). But I did learn (after he passed) that they had far many more arguments than I ever thought. In front of us, and in public, my Mom didn't dispute him or disagree with him. Later on, she's shared all sorts of things with my wife! I never saw veepee use physical abuse on Mrs. W either. I was just stating that IMO, her 'submissiveness' publicly was a reflection of the times she was raised in. Know what I mean?
  12. doogie... you're supposed to share some of that you've been smoking! or at least don't smoke more than one bowl!
  13. I think this came up in the not too distant past. I never heard the "okay to use a little force" comment before (although it would be in line with his mysogenistic behavior). I think it was more of an "older mind set" subscribed to by both, where the man was the head, what the man said goes, and the woman's place is to support her man, regardless"... they were raised in different times and had different standards... IMO ...as did many of our depression era parents...
  14. Gee... how many of them are still "in"?... how many of them wish they could take their names off?
  15. yes diaz... so as not to confuse ABS with the 'normal' Christian concepts of titheing or giving...
  16. well imbus, we got filled with that stuff in residence that year... veepee got a lot of his stuff from some radical conspiracy magazine (or group) that he subscribed to... I'm sure somebody knows the name... if you look at their historical "predictions and claims" I'd bet that they go right along with what veepee was saying at the time... (for the most part)... ya know the man never had an original idea (oops! IMO)... he just built a better "game"...
  17. yeah schuks... just "shake that dust off of your feet"... I like playing here... although occasionally I am serious... and I really don't care what you think... seriously... if you want to come here, fine... if you don't, then don't... but if you do, remember, you're one of "us" also (Bullinger)... hahahhahahaha!!!!
  18. well T-Lady... I'm working on it!
  19. oh Vickles! (ya know, people are afraid of clowns!)
  20. Yeah RasCathy! and I bet there aint no cheatin' goin' on!
  21. I love Girl Scout cookies...
  22. Those Mormons sound like they've got that part down T-Lady... ...how's come they won't let you have more than one wife anymore? (just asking, I always thought that was kind of neat)
