The "Waterless Springs" of 2 Peter 2 -- Hey, I know them!
Tom Strange replied to Juan Cruz's topic in About The Way
I haven't read Juan's example yet... but I'll respond "back atcha" OM: Please allow me to change a couple of words... the same point is reached..."I wouls suggest that when all you focus on, all you deem that has any meaning, is a person's apparent good deeds, you come to irrational and biased conclusions." especially if there were ulterior motives involved as the reason for those apparent good deeds (that's where the 'false prophet' comes into play) -

I think there are only two more HopeR... none this Sunday according to the website... they disappear from the Sunday schedule after 6/13 (episode 12) when Six Feet Under starts up again... That would be a good guess on the preacher and doctor... I was thinking either that OR that the doc operates on him! And I'm thinking maybe Bullocks "wife and child" might either not come to Deadwood at all or something happens to them on the way... and he can hook up with the widow lady... As for Joanie and Utter... hmmm... I'm thinking she's just using him... but Tolliver is going to turn out to be the meanest of all I think (Swearingen has been showing compassion lately)... wonder what he'll do to Eddie?

yeah... I like them too OM... is that a new song?

aw zix... he'll wake up from the dream before then! -
so... we'll be world travelers! my wife wants to retire to Mexico as well... of course, it is where her family is from, she is Mexican and does speak the language (so do the kids)... when we go down there I don't really worry too much about the water and I've never gotten the revenge... just be smart about it... I wouldn't go around drinking out of hoses or anything... but whatever our Reverend2Ts drinks anyway, most of the germs will be killed by the alcohol... hey... we could start a compound! maybe call it TuttleTown....

heck no! she's a smart woman... she's known all along the life she chose... she just had a little 'daydream' there...! she knows where her bread is buttered......how will Christopher be after this beat down? will he 'be'? how many will be left when 'it's all settled' with Johnny Sack? -

Wonder1, Besides snow cone giving (I don't really 'sell' them, and of course we have beer flavors)... I come here for what the TWIt's would call feelowsheep... it's all here at the cafe! you can discuss/learn about computers (for free!) you can discuss/learn about movies & music you can discuss/learn about different political/religious views you can post your prayer requests and your prayers you can find out what's happened to johnny jumpup and maggie muggins (if you want to know where jonny lingo is these days, he's in alaska) it's a lot like any other internet community except it's made up of folks with a 'common history'... (where else can you post what you think did or did not happen when veepee looked out the windows and saw snow on the gas pumps?)... and like the others have said it's not like person A brings the same thing up every three weeks and person B brings up something different every four weeks... from what I've seen, different folks come and go, some hang around... but it's in the coming and going that a lot of things get re-introduced... new people have questions, thoughts and ideas... what are we supposed to do? just tell them "hey, we covered that three months ago, go read it"... now while we do reference prior discussions, we allow the new person to contribute and feel and think in the present while dealing with the past... if you're of the opinion that things might better be discussed only once and then referenced then perhaps you'd be interested in a thread called "Mastering PFAL" down in the doctrinal section... be sure to start on page 1. the snow cone stand is open! :D-->

Is that what is going on there? I was kinda wonderin mah own self... I thought he was "plucking out his eye" because he was offended by something...

I come here to visit... and occasionally sell a snow cone or two... would you like one? they're Amazing!

well... there are many around here who were in much longer than I was... like I said, it's a general impression... that I came to in hindsight many years removed... IMO, veepee always had trouble "following the rules"... from the days of his youth when he was a wild child, to his early pastorates where I heard he "had a few troubles"... so he sets up his own "ministry" where he makes the rules... he's in a position of total authority... Now, he didn't change his "wild child" or "errant" ways, he just set up his own thing where he didn't have to answer to anyone else, didn't have to worry about any 'higher ups' finding out what was going on... he was THE 'higher up'... He had a gift of getting people to buy into 'what he was selling', I believe the man could've sold ice cream to eskimos... then he discovers some really great teachings by Leonard, Stiles and Bullinger, puts 'em all together and starts selling them... all the while building his cadre of faithful followers by expecting and demanding complete devotion... And it is all by his rules... he still hasn't changed his ways... only started building a loyal following of folks who are convinced he's "the one"... calls himself 'the teacher', allows others to believe and promote him as THE man of God... still hasn't changed his "wild child" ways... but now has followers who have bought into his 'rules'... Then he notices the Jesus movement catching on... hooks up with Doop and Heefner (forgive me if I mispelled their names)... now he's got an "in" with all the youngsters... systematically takes their flocks and starts fleecing them... Still hasn't changed his ways from his "wild child" days... but he doesn't have to... he answers to no one but veepee... it's all set up and running smoothly... he can do what he wants... now the empire starts expanding exponentially... he takes folks hunger for the love of God and redirects it... as he always has... People who hungered for God's love and God's Word hunger for his words, his love and his affection... because he set himself up as, and convinced folks he was, THE MAN OF GOD. God's spokesman here on earth. To him it was a smorgasboard beyond his wildest dreams but he still had never changed from the "wildness of his youth"... There's more, details can be filled in here and there but maybe you can get the general idea... Gosh, I could type for a long time... it's only my impression, but it all fits together so easily... IMO

well... I connected the antenna, it dropped my speed from 11.0 mbps to 5.5! Unacceptable Went into the bedroom where the wife's laptop was, and it was working fine... until she answered the phone! voila! Took the antenna back and got one of those 5.8 gig phones... we'll see... Zix, I changed to channel 10 (on your suggestion I think) a week or two ago... MasterP, I had an old (3 year old) Sony Vaio that never lasted more than 30 minutes on battery power... now we have two Z1VAs... they seem to be better all the way around, Centrino chip, DDRam, etc...
