  3. ...not to mention how good they are at baking cakes! ...I can see them now leading songs "bee - A - bay... bee - E - bee... bee - I - bicky bye, bee - O - boe, bicky bye boe bee boe boo..." and when they get ready to lead manifestations, everything's quiet... then... "ANNACANNAPANNA"

    iPods

MasterP, those reasons are exactly why I recommend the Creative 30GB... it's on Fry's Outpost.com for $199 right now. It does all that the ipod does except it doesn't have the "touch" menu, but the navigation is just as easy...
  9. I agree... there must needs be one seeing as how so many of us on this our thread are blessed with it...

    Tivo

my Tivo is complimentary because we have the "premium package" (read "we pay out the arse) of direct tv... Oldies... ask them to give you one, or give you a deal like they do the new subscribers since you're a loyal customer... better yet, get rid of that cable and come into the 21st centure... satellite...

    Tivo

we have one with directv... don't know what we did without it... it's a great convenience... mine however is an older model, only 35 hours but that's plenty, we watch and then we delete, no big deal... I had been a directv customer for about 2 years and one of the receivers went out, when I called for another, the lady offered me a tivo for $55 and said they'd install for free (this was when the unit was going for about $99 at BestBuy)... the guy installed it, ran some new lines for me and even swapped out my two satellite dish for a three satellite one! ...I don't think that was too bad for $55... ...now I'm looking for a DVD recorder with a hard drive... it's only a matter of time...

    iPods

Mark, the sound is awesome... (at least I can't tell any difference)... however... I opted for the CREATIVE ZEN XTRA... it's 30GB and it was only $179!!! Lots cheaper than the Ipod and only a tad larger (still smaller than an 8 track)... I've already loaded about 200 CD's on it (at 248 cuz I thought I'd get better quality) and I still have about a third of it left... like my brother socks, I bought it so that I wouldn't have to cart around all of the CDs... It's a thing of beauty! With the one I bought I can download from anywhere (Ipod has to download from itunes, and others are proprietery as well, think Sony)... It has the same management options that paw described above... I can build playlists or just cruise around and click on "play next" for as long as I want and it just keeps adding the songs to the que... So... these things are great, but if you want to save $100 or $200 on the Ipod, get the one by Creative... works great, has a removable battery, plays for 12 hours on a charge... and I have a Honda Element that has a jack built into the dash so's I can play it through the sound system (but you can get the FM thingie as well)... Get one, you won't be disappointed no matter what size you get... even those little 256mb sticks that plug right into your USB have great sound and hold about 3 hours of music...

  21. myseestorEx10: to your original question... I guess I haven't really seen it (the different treatments) much... I think what I've seen is what I've seen here tonight reading this thread that went where you didn't intend for it to go but we all knew probably would go... that people treat them differently because they're "different" from them... that's all I've got, sorry... But a question did come up in my little pea brain while reading the preceding pages... How can it be considered "sin" if a person has no choice in the matter? And while I know that folks line up on both sides of the choice issue, and I'm perfectly aware that sometimes hetero people do choose to have homosexual experiences, I don't think that those folks are homosexual... I'm talking about folks who are "born into" homosexuality, that have felt that being with someone of their same sex was natural and that heterosexuality was un-natural... how can they be considered "sinners"? It wasn't a choice they made... and many of them, for whatever reason, tried to be hetero and it didn't work because it was un-natural to them... And I do agree with the folks who say "don't shove it in my face"... I think that about the hetero's who do that as well... I don't think that homosexuals have a corner on the market for bad behavior... I think that's just a "people" thing... there's jerks and arse holes everywhere... P.S. how come some of those people can type the word ....?
