ya know... I hate, absolutely hate, that they're enhancing their abilities 'illegally'... but while I do hate it, and disagree with it, I see some of Canseco's point... it's here, it's gonna be here... and it's been here for a while... there was a scientist/doctor guy on the radio the other day (one of the ones who testified as well) and he says there's nothing that can be done about it... if someone wants to use and not get caught, if they wanna pay for it and follow the program, they'll never get caught... he says there's a 100 balco's out there right now... he swears that there's not a test that can't be beat, a steroid that can't be masked... so... as much as I hate it, there's nothing we can do about it... Congress can flex their muscles, but we need to keep it out of the hands of youth and non professionals... I think that's where it can be stopped... and that's where it does the most damage... unsupervised and un-sterile black market steroids not meant for human consumption are where the horror stories come from... and by and large they're from amateurs... the old guys want an asterisk for the juiced ball era, then the others want one for the era since the mound's been lowered, then the others want one for when the parks were bigger... it's just change... I don't like it on bit... but there's really nothing that can be done to stop it... at the professional level... ...we should concentrate on the youth and amateur athletics...

did anyone see the segment on "Real Sports w Bryant Gumbel" about how we're ruining the youth of today's future chances at the big leagues? starting them throwing curves way too early, playing year round, etc... the orthopedist they had on said he's doing Tommy John surgery on 10 to 12 year olds now... wants a national referendum on pitch counts and outlawing the curve ball in every league under 14 or 15... the umps can throw them out... it was interesting... my nephew's (J&P's son) is in one of those year round traveling leagues... kids need a break, they need to play other sports... of course, year round baseball works pretty good for the island boys... ...as for the other stuff... well... I'm not here to talk about the past...

I come in every now and then though not nearly as often as I used to... it's nice to "connect" with people who have had similar experiences (or not so similar) and were in the same "cult" as I was... ...I work too much these days and this is a nice place to stop down... talk a little baseball, etc... I haven't been down to the doctrinal section in a week or so... is it still "available" to join Laleo's new and improved church?

Belle... that makes you someone I want to know if something "goes down"! :)-->I don't have any malpaks laying around or anything, and there are lots of cans in the cupboard... but I always keep stuff in the car like a magneto flashlight and a couple of those straw looking thingies that are supposed to filter water for you... I guess it's from reading all of those stories growing up where people froze in their car because they didn't have blankets... I'm not worried though, I'm proud to say that I know how to survive a nuclear attack. We trained for it endlessly in school in the late 50's and early 60's.

when did we start letting all of these youngsters occupy the top spot? I'll see you all in the sonlight room after fellowship... I've got girl scout cookies for refreshments... and sweet tea!

yes... they (J and P) still "drink the koolaid" but we don't see them much anymore, only when the AC is in Dallas... and then only a little bit... (btw, they didn't have their home "built" to run classes, but I'm sure that they considered it when they bought it) :)--> Now... as for GW... he wasn't too happy with me one time at lunch on my birthday....

does it have anything to do with whether or not one has "cleared their cache" recently?

wow... I guess I'm thankful that I got to play golf yesterday in shorts and a golf shirt... yep... I am...

I voted "sporadic"... but today it has been consistently faster than the last couple of weeks I think... but then again I could be hallucinating again due to a flashback or somesuch...
