really it's not! heck, I started this thread because... well... because WE LOVE BASEBALL! ...it just happened that the boys from Boston won it all and it was/is a special time for them... heck, they waited a long time... me? I've only been waiting 33 years for the stRangers... but I've loved the game a lot longer than that... I'll go to a game anywhere, anytime... just ask me!

I was at my mom's the other night and I remembered (then forgot) to check to see if there was a 54 Ford truck manual there... I'm betting there is... I'll try to remember! I promise! fellowsleeper, did you let the youn'uns sit in the lay zee boy in the back of the pickup on the way home? that would've been fun (not to mention a true beverly hillbillies moment)... ...sisterniKa, please don't over do it this weekend... don't you know that root was a sign from our God above that thou shalt not garden! Mackie will be fine... just tell him to go and play and be the best he can and have the most fun he can and then promise him that you won't let him be late for sign up next year... he'll be fine and become a better ball player... (sound's good anyway) ... but he'll get over his disappointment at not pitching, besides, he can pitch in the neighborhood games and his arm will be better for "taking the season off"... (all of this sounds pretty good in theory... but, like mstar said, whenever I didn't get to play the position I wanted to, I just went ahead and played anywhere, I ended up having fun and forgetting about it)... Just keep your promise to him NOT to be LATE next year! love you. (and I think you're a great mother)

Flat arrived safely here in the good old metroplex... but alas, it is my very busy time of the month... but this weekend I'm taking him to Dealy Plaza (he said he wanted to visit there)... and maybe to the auto show...

None of us know what did or didn't get said between the husband and wife. I don't think any of us really know what her condition was, I think we've been "fed" whatever information either side thinks best helps their case. If the husband wanted to move on with his life, as it appeared he already had, what's the harm of letting her parents take over custodial care? Sure he would look like a jerk, but he would to some no matter which way the thing went. One of the things that I find interesting is that the way the media has portrayed it there are more people on the side of "don't pull the tube"... yet every poll I've seen shows that at least 85% of the respondants WOULD NOT want to be kept alive like that. Again, I don't see what harm it would have done to let the parents take it over... but odd that there seems to be an overwhelming amount of folks that wouldn't want to "live" like that yet wanted her to... just an observation...
