Thanks folks... any other thoughts on the "learn classical first" then, with that as a foundation, go on in whichever direction? (did I get that idea correct?) Isn't there a difference in the "type" of guitar? (the neck is wider and flatter on a classical?) As far as price goes I don't mind spending on a quality used guitar because (like has been stated earlier) in theory I can get that money back out of it... There's all kinds of stores in this area (including a Guitar Center) so once I get an idea of what I'm looking for I'll be able to go browse around at quite a few places...

hey guitar gods... if someone had always wanted to learn to play the guitar, and was thinking about getting a guitar (accoustic), what sort of guitar would someone get? If someone were thinking that it's OK to get a high quality used guitar because they don't want to mess with buying a beginner one and then getting rid of it and getting another... If someone had hands where the palm was large in proportion to the finger length... would someone want nylon or steel strings? or would that be something that someone would start out on one type and then move to a different type? Tell me Obi-Wan-Guitarbee... tell me...er.. someone...

neato... you don't say when that ad is from, but if it's pre ww2, then that would make the retail around a grand or so in today's dollars wouldn't it? ...there are a few for sale on ebay if anyone wants a guitar like bluzeman has...

If you'd only admit that you have taken veepee's instructions to "master PFAL" and twisted that around to mean that "PFAL replaces the Bible"... and that it's "just your gut feeling or you holy spirit within told you these things... that would be OK... but you keep insisting that veepee said these things and the fact is he didn't... Just admit that you are the author of your ideas... that's all... you'll really feel better for it... and who knows? Maybe there's more crowns up in heaven for you... but at least I'd bet that you'd be better accepted around here if you just "owned up to" these theories and quit trying to foist them off on veepee... we'd still come around here to play with you, but at least everything would be on the up and up then... Mikey, hows come you're the only person on the entire planet that heard (or claims to have heard) veepee telling people to "put away the Bible and study PFAL"... Mikey, hows come we all have to take the claims you make on your word alone? hows come you can never come up with any real, physical proof? Mikey, hows come you don't believe the posters who worked with veepee on PFAL who have come on here and openly refuted what you're saying?

Murder in the First... both Christian Slater and Kevin Bacon are amazing in that movie... how they didn't win awards I'll never know...

I'd look around for groups that are loving and giving... maybe everything they teach won't exactly agree with what you believe, it's hard to find any one group that does, but look for the love...

So Mike... are you saying that PFAL is truth? As opposed to... say... the Bible? Jesus? I've read a lot of Bible... but I've never read in the Bible that PFAL was truth. Was that lost in one of the translations?
