Well Respected Man by the Kinks (dooj, that was really 'the motorcycle song' by Arlo Guthry... but that's OK) Now look at them yo-yos thats the way you do it -

good one hiway! -
I would think that he's probably earned a "pass" from the fans (BoSox and others)... I know that I've got no problem with it... at least as long as he knew nothing about it when he signed the extension... I'm hearing that the BoSox specialist thinks he can just do rehab and maybe pitch later this year, and that Curt is willing to try that...but that another specialist has said "surgery". That's the game you play in MLB... they've got guaranteed contracts.
-
I was wondering almost the same thing re: Schilling... didn't the BoSox just extend him this year?
-
As for the game in the coliseum: what a joy to be able to attend! Watching Mannie play the net would be worth the price of admission to me! Have fun Hiway!

yes... hope springs eternal... last year's prediction was based upon "the Buck effect"... sadly, even the stRangers broke that pattern. I haven't lost faith in the players, I haven't lost faith in the game or the boy GM... I've lost faith in the owner. He's about as popular around here as Art Modell is in Cleveland... and he gets about the same amount of respect. (he's earned it, believe me... and seems to have reached that status in Liverpool as well) I was listening to the press conference yesterday and all I could think about was how much the rest of MLB must be just sitting there laughing and shaking their heads. But at this point anything that adds insulation between Hicks and the team is a positive. We don't mind that Hicks is all about the money- that's fine, make some- but we'd also like him to be about the winning... and he's not. And with all of the development taking place around the ballpark (Jerryworld is being built right next door) he'll hold out for a boatload... probably even more than Cuban is willing to spend. As for Nolan coming aboard... most feel it's just a PR thing but then we're pretty jaded (could you tell?)... he's been pretty successful since retirement but I don't know what skills he brings to the "management side" other than an acute ability to track wild spider monkeys... ...but hope springs eternal and time begins on opening day.

close GSG... very close... c'mon, you remember what that model of GTO was called (it's painted on the front fender)...
-
yeah... but at least you guys have something to look forward to! :) But I love the game... and I'll be rooting for them anyway! (would someone please pray that Hicks sells the team?)

well starman... of course you are a Pats fan! ...the deal about Belichek is that yes, he's been very successful and developed the reputation of 'coaching genius'... BUT... if he's done that while breaking a lot of rules of the game, giving him and his team an unfair advantage... then that's wrong. I don't know what Spector's angle is other than one of the Pats super bowl victories was over the Iggles... There's a big difference between stealing signs and what they're accused of doing... but you know that...
-
Belichek got the Ravens with the same review/penalty in their game during the season during that last drive that the Pats went ahead and scored on... one of the quirky things on that drive that ultimately cost the Ravens the game... (just thought I'd throw that in) It was a very good game and I didn't want to root for the Giants but found myself doing so anyway... Eli 'coming of age' is a bad thing for us (Cowboy fans) our only hope is that the Giants will keep Shockey since he seems to intimidate Eli into submision causing him to panic... It will be interesting to see what comes of the newest spygate episode... evidently the NFL never questioned the head video guy from the past that is now in Hawaii who has signed a confidentiality statement... word is that he wants congress to look deeper and call him to testify so's he can get it off of his chest... the Pats evidently taped the final Rams walk through before that first super bowl... a game also decided by three points... and that's illegal. Belichek makes it easy to root against the Pats although most of their players are 'stand up' guys who play at an exceptional level...
