I was wondering the same thing myself ck. Have you heard this "translation" from anywhere else besides veepee/TWI?
-
what is that first picture? 'The Lady in Red'

Rick, that's the name of the song (Sunday Morning Sunshine) it's on "Sniper and Other Love Songs" as well... In answer to your question... it would be so much easier for me to name the songs of his I don't like... come to think of it... there aren't really any I don't like... just some that I don't like as much... some of my favorites are 'A Better Place To Be', 'Mr. Tanner', 'Mail Order Annie'. 'Sniper', 'Taxi 1&2'... heck, I even like 'Dance Band on the Titanic'... For those of you without any (or enough) Harry Chapin in your collection, get the double CD, it has most of his stuff... both well known and obscure...
-
sounds kind of 'elementary'... like a teaching you'd do if it was your first time to teach at twig... oh well, I guess that's what they needed to hear...
-
Will it contain tales of any of your Amazing exploits?
-
Because you're lost son... you're lost and trying to find the way... c'mon over here and take a look at this little green card I've got here... I think that you'll find what it promises simply Amazing...
-
ya think maybe that's where it all started? (the crusades)
-
well... I guess you ladies will be heading to Heidi's on that road trip soon won't you?
-
great wineman... it's probably the same at the other schools... but I know for a hard and fast fact that the connextions (jobwise, careerwise) he'd gain from Cornell are life long and strong... he'll do great wherever he ends up...

Green Onions eh Meestor Soques? Amazing... simply Amazing!
-
half-moon fried?
-
OK... but can I still change to Dr. Johnny Fever? I used to also get told I resembled him in the olden days when my hair was longer and I wore aviators...
-
moon handprint? moon dude? moon sunburn?

That's because you're young my friend. The song title is "Epitaph", the band is King Crimson and Ian MacDonald and Peter and Michael Giles went out on their own (from King Crimson and Robert Fripp) and did their own stuff... which was a BIG part of the 'sound' on the first King Crimson album (I don't remember if it was before the second KC album or the third)...
-
That's sweet! ...and it's exactly why I can listen to Jackson Browne for hours and hours (like a mental patient)... it does sound familiar (maybe I heard it 30 years ago at a concert?) what is the album name?
-
thanks Mark... do you think there's any risk using GoogleEarth? ...of course, I guess there's risk using any freeware... (there's always a hitch, whether hidden or not)
-
so you're saying "pick an actor in a role they've played"? ...since that's all we know them by... IF that's the case... then I'd have to pick this guy:
-
dressed to kill... but someone else do the pic... please.
-
I know what you mean verbal... I had the great pleasure of seeing Harry live in Boston (when I was a WOW, what's one night? I couldn't miss it)... Jackson Browne, yeah... he's another one I'm a big fan of... you're never quite sure what you're gonna get, but you know you won't be disappointed!
-
I saw this story a couple of weeks ago (I think)... a great, heart warming story indeed... good for him!
-
Sorry wasway... didn't see the "clue" earlier... Confusion will be my epitaph. As I crawl a cracked and broken path If we make it we can all sit back And laugh. But I fear tomorrow I’ll be crying, Yes I fear tomorrow I’ll be crying. I used lines from KC in my signatures when I first came to GSC. Did you ever give "MacDonald and Giles" a listen? P.S. didn't we just do this one? Or was that "In the Court of the Crimson King"?
-
oh... don't get me wrong... I'm more nervous on a flight with folks who fit the terrorist profile than I am on a plane full of old ladies going to vegas to gamble... so yeah, I've got some issues... but I don't want to condemn a whole religion/people...
-
Well... we had them for a while anyway and we've still got "part" of them here... are you familiar with Harry's album "Sniper and other love songs"? I've been in love with it since the first listen (but I was probably stoned then, I was 18) and I still can put it on and listen to it all the way through... it's a beautiful album full of stories of different people and he weaves them so beautifully... The title song 'Sniper' is about Charles Whitman, the guy that climbed the Univ of Texas tower all those years ago... it's haunting, his words, tone and music just capture insanity... I guess I'm trying to say that he makes you feel the emotions in that song like he does his other songs... and I guess that's why I've always liked him... I can "feel" his songs... Anyway, if you haven't gotten it or heard it, that's a great CD to get... some say it's only for the 'seasoned' HC fan (which you may be), but I'm thinking you'd like it... sorry... we now return you to your regularly scheduled program...
-
just let it go, please... you don't have to have the last word...
-
Very well put my friend from the sock drawer... very well put... Those are my thoughts exactly (how did you know what was in my head?)... I think that's how a lot of us "viewed" it... Thanks for so eloquently putting it "down on paper"... Please W.D. I'm begging you... let the brochure thing go... it's not even relevent... I'll give you money...
