hey starman... doesn't that park look nice? ...too bad you can't enjoy a game there for three months out of the season... but April, May and September are nice... maybe October this year as well....

Some say it's the power of prayer... why can't it simply be the power of the human mind? Could be ya know... and there's probably more "proof" for the latter than the former. Regarding Speaking In Tongues... I tend to agree with George... gibberish, plain and simple... oh I know "it must be the tongue of an angel"... I don't ever recall hearing anyone speaking in tongues a recognizable language, and I don't ever recall hearing someone say that they had except ol veepee in PLAF... did any of you ever hear someone speak in tongues a "recognizable" language? I was raised "Christian" in Presbyterian and then Methodist churches... my folks were the kind of people that "lived" principles without being religious and without preaching... (I was lucky) ...I look around and I've come to the conclusion that there would be a whole lot less hate, bigotry, war, envy, high-mindedness if there were no religions in the world... JMO... And I don't personally really yearn to know "where did we all come from", etc... but when I do think about it, the whole alien thing (not the scientology alien thing) makes as much (or more) sense as any of the other stuff...

well now that you say that... of course it all comes back to me... yeah.. steely dan... was it on "Aja"? I've got no clue about the next song... of course I don't live too much in the world of "recent music"...

I use the nutru stuff... I only have to buy it once a month so I'll "make the journey" for that... informative links there... I notice both say that dogs and cats don't process/need corn... neither do humans do we? :)

If you guys like reading Baseball books you might try Thomas Boswell (of course you guys probably already know him). If you haven't read Why Time Begins on Opening Day it's wonderful. He also has others... they're collections of his columns essentially, but they really bring back the memories... yes indeed starman... "let's get it on"... in about an hour and a half...

The return of Gravy... (me in bold): -
I know the answer and I think you guys do to... George, I would've guessed skycap without the properties... but I still disagree that it 'automatically' gives you the answer... look at some of the pictures we've had... without the properties I wouldn't have known that the picture was a liver not a brain or some other organ (I'm not a doctor, I just play one on TV)... without the properties I wouldn't have known that was a towel instead of a blanket... and towel and brain did not give the title, I still had to put together the clues and figure it out... and I don't like you calling me a cheater.

No... not that one... I really didn't think that it would be so hard... sorry... Here's one more from Caddyshack: This is a hybrid. This is a cross, ah, of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff.

There might be something to that... but trust me... he was an a$$hole and a jerk long before the AOS production... I never saw the production, I was out before that, but do remember the "talk" back in the late 70's and the Way rag articles, the skits... sounds funny... can anybody who has a copy stream it?

Okay... here's the complete context of the first clue (maybe that will help): So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

PFAL: An Unorthodox Translation

Mike, you posted the above over on T-Bones thread... since you don't want to answer the questions about statements you've made what about this one? Which of the "dozens of the world's top brain scientists" have you hung out with? ...and by "hanging out with" do you mean sitting around 'shootin' the breeze, playing pool and having a beer' or has that been in a "clinical" setting? -
PFAL: An Unorthodox Translation
Tom Strange replied to Tom Strange's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Here's a "cut and paste" for you Mike from one of the many posts where I've answered this question: "I'm trying to figure out if you have any credibility, to determine if you or your message should be heeded... and all you ever do is say "you just have to believe me" (but in many many more words than that)." That's why I ask the questions... as I've told you many times before. As for the first part of your question, at this point it's a matter of perception isn't it? ...or is it? -

Hey Mike... I was just browsing around on page one and saw your first post on this thread... gee... it was much different than the first time I read it... very slick... go back in and edit it later... oh well... at least you're limited to a couple of hours now so you can't pull some of your old tricks... adding that part to make it look like the "unorthodox translation" had something to do with me! ha... pretty funny dude.. but again, you're too modest here... much too modest... -

PFAL: An Unorthodox Translation
Tom Strange replied to Tom Strange's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Mike... what do they call someone who thinks everyone else is wrong because they don't think the same way they do? what do they call someone who is the only person out of thousands to come away with a completely different take on what the same words mean? what do they call someone who keeps insisting they are the one who is right and the rest of the world is wrong? what do they call someone who refuses to listen to logic and reason whenever they do not correspond with what he believes? These are some new questions. Here's one thing they do not call them: SANE. -

what the hey... blah blah blah... fine... don't pay any attention (as if you ever have)... but here's the deal (since you seem to miss it): see... I haven't made any wild unorthodox statements to be asked about. I have only asked for clarification or explanation on some of the wild unorthodox statements that Mike has made. He made the statements. He could answer the questions about them... but doesn't... that's his choice. I shouldn't have to answer any questions or pass some sort of test to see if I'm worthy of an answer. So when you include me in your inferrence ("neither one owns the answer") you really have not gotten the idea... But if you haven't figured all of that out from the goings on up to this point I doubt you'll figure it out with this explanation... Oh Mike! You so funny! First you deny that it's a test, then you go on to say it's a test, or prepartion, in order to receive the answers! You so funny! HA! HA! -

it should be good.... it's going to be interesting to see which team is able to impose their will on the other... or if either of them will...
