JWitt... why do you feel that "holding fast to the non-trinity" is crucial? I'm not saying that it is... but... could it be another 'veepeeism' that might need to be examined? I agree with what Rejoice said in that TWI made it 'a cornerstone tenet'... most of the time a person can make the Bible say whatever they want to through clever use of scripture... even in the case of JCING... TWI did it most of the time... Try to throw off everything from the past and start with "Love God first and love thy neighbor as thyself." Try to start anew with only that as your base belief... maybe you'll get farther. Mine is an admittedly biased view but, I can't trust anything from TWI. Even though I've no doubt that there was 'truth' taught it's my contention that you have to sift through so much personal agenda and dogma and decide which it true and which isn't that it's easier to start anew. I'd imagine it'd be tough to 'find a church home' that fits all of your criteria when some (most?) of that criteria comes from TWI. Love God, love thy neighbor as thyself. Go from there. when you're looking... look for (and at) the love... that'll be the "right" church...

And I think that's great rickyg... but... have they ever addressed the sins of the past? or do they just give everyone the old "it's of no profit" and "don't dwell on the past"??? The reason I ask this is because IF they haven't, then all they're doing is 'sweeping things under the rug'... They tell you what you need to think about and focus on... and that's certainly not any of their "secret practices" is it? They knew about everything and they's still never admit to anything unless backed into a corner in a court of law... you know that, you seem like an intelligent person, you have to know that. They haven't "corrected" anything, only brushed it aside and denied that it happened... sure, they may 'act' differently and sincerely... but under the surface it's the same old story, because the same folks are still pulling the strings... You can't fix something if you don't think it's broken... they've never thought TWI was 'broken'... what did that one poster say over there? something to the effect that if you ask them about it they'll tell you, but nobody asks so they don't tell.. wasn't that the gist of it? while that's probably true, which I don't think is honest by the way, I'd be willing to bet you dollars to donuts that they's more than likely give you the "in the past" answer if the wrong questions were asked...

what can I say? ...'cept I'm glad your family made it... you could always get a bunch of leather straps and loop them around the pipes like they did at the end of the twister movie... :) but those root/storm cellars do come in handy... they're selling prefab reinforced steel ones down here that you just dig a hole in the backyard and get into... they're small, but they're safe...

Socks, alas... I didn't make it to the show... I was too afraid I'd "just buy something"... and I really want to go and feel some (like the one you got for your daughter) but there's quite a few large guitar stores around here so... soon... And that means I'm also not learning it... YET! I would like to learn it because I've always liked the melody... and listening to it in my head it does kind of remind me of Cat Stevens... I'd love to be able to learn all of the songs on "Tea for the Tillerman"... (especially 'Fathers and Sons', is that the name of that song?) ...and 'America' (Paul Simon's, not the anthem)... I've always wanted to be able to play that... That's so neat that you guys can "hear" it just by looking at the tabulature... maybe I can do that someday...

what's up with Zito? did Billy Bean trade the wrong pitcher? he just hit Mench, ahead in the count with the bases loaded... this year: 6 batters in 21 innings... and he's on his way to more than 30 pitches in the first inning...

I've ordered Arrogant Bastard Ale (and T shirts)... it's good as well... Both of the beers I mentioned are nice German beers available on tap at the Flying Saucer... you'd probably like it...

Spaten (German for Shovel) is a fine beer... HERE'S their website... Also good is Dinkelacker (also made by Spaten although I do not know what it means in German)... but there's nothing wrong with a Shiner...
