  1. well.. they were the relatives of the folks on the plane... ti sure has gotten great write ups all of them always pointing out that the movie is not 'exploitive' in any way... so they really used the real people that were on the ground did they? and I hear they also used a lot of 'no-name' folks so that viewers wouldn't identify them with other movies, etc.
  2. based upon gc's last line I'm thinking wasway should go ahead... or do we need to call a tribunal?
  3. what's the last picture? it's not coming through...
  4. that's a good one Raf... I figured you'd like that (the new clue) movie...
  5. heck toppie... nothing to be scared about... look how peaceful and 'calm-submissive' those doggies are... at least that's the way I took the picture... is that how you meant it outofdafog? ...all those doggies are just lined up making sure that the poor little kitty makes it's way safely to where it's going...
  6. why yes dooj! how did you know? INN+DEPENDS+ANTS+(Otis) DAY
  7. OK Revvel Mike... now that you've brought the thread back up to the top how about getting back on track... we know you've been 'hanging out' at the cafe for the last week or so but not touching your beloved tread... so now that you brought it back to life, go ahead and get back to it... or let it die the quiet slow death it so richly deserves...
  8. Didn't anyone see "The Shawshank Redemption" but me and Chas? I even used it in movie pictionary... How about this one: If you're so smart, tell me something, how come you go to M.I.T. for 8 years to become a cable repairman?
  9. I'm pretty sure this complies with the aforementioned rules (or are they guidlines?)... this one has nothing at all to do with the clue, just wanted to post a pic of Bluto...
  10. c'mon Linzee! are you just hunting for some goodwill?
  11. I'm getting tempted... one of the local reviewers here (whose opinion I generally trust) said it was an "amazing movie" and "one of the best movies ever, that you don't want to see"... I'm being swayed by that, hearing comments like Raf made from others as well as having read the article where they were describing the reactions of the families of the folks on that flight after they'd seen the movie...
  12. c'mon Rhino... you know it's "the last samurai"...!!! I'll think of something... and I don't need no stinking rools!
  13. Is there a Montessori school around there anywhere?
  14. yeah... isn't that a kick Jonny? ...that was Charlie's "teach a man to fish" thing... and it still amazes my wife how good I am with a squeegee!
  15. Roy, I can't say it any better than Linda has. Take care.
  16. Chef, I lost my father 12 years ago... watched him close his eyes and go to sleep as I was rubbing his feet while he laid in bed... it had been a long and painful fight for him and then he just kind of sighed and smiled and that was it... I'm so thankful I was there with him, and thankful for every day I ever got to spend some time with him... And now, 12 years later, there's still not a day goes by that I don't hear his voice in my head... sometimes steering me to a better path, sometimes telling me something funny that makes me smile, but every day I feel a little special for a moment or two... sometimes I smile, sometimes I get a little misty... Every day I know that he loved me unconditionally and I know that he knew I loved him the same way... I've gotten over the pain of when we lost him... I don't have to get over him not being here because he still is... every day in my heart... My thoughts are with you and your Mom and your family bro.
  17. ...don't tell me you can't think of a movie Minnie Driver was in... didn't she go to Harvard?
  18. I guess I like his movies OK... sometimes I wonder if he (Tarantino) didn't spend too much time working at the video store... The first time I watched "Pulp Fiction" I didn't see what all the fuss was about... didn't get it... but so many people, film critics that I usually agree with and normal people as well, really raved about it so I watched it again... and the more I saw all the little subtle things he weaves in and out of the story line while he's slapping you silly with blood and guts and gore... the more I got it. And now I actually do like "Pulp Fiction"... same with the "Kill Bill 1 & 2", "Jackie Brown" and "From Dusk til Dawn" (oh wait a minute that was Robert Rodriguez wasn't it?)... Anyway, I watch his movies, usually after they've come out on DVD... I don't go into a froth like some do, but I can understand somewhat why he's looked upon as he is... I have Resevoir Dogs, got it a long time ago because it got such good reviews (before I became an enlightened one), I couldn't get through it... I'm gonna give it another try though... maybe I'll like it, maybe I won't... at least that's my take on him... he's definitely not everyone's cup of tea but sometimes I'm in the mood for his insanity (but I still think he spent too much time working at that video store watching all of those movies)
  19. Rhino... it's not that I don't like posting the pictures... it's just that I don't want every other one to be "me" doing it... so I just try to give other folks a chance who might really actually have a life and not hang around an ex-cult board all day... that's all... As for your clue, I thought it was just peachy... but as soon as I saw "mixer smith" I was looking for "goes to washington"...
  20. "the Western version of the Red Sox" good one hiway! we've been patiently awaiting your input... have they started on the "changes" to Chavez Ravine" yet? The Rangers minor league report that I subscribe to (interesting I think even if you aren't a stRangers fan) included this in an email this morning: It is sad...

Abigail, I'm so very glad that your "heart" made it through all of that... I really am. And I'm also really glad that I've gotten the privilege to know you.
  22. Thanks. Sounds like a neat guy.
  23. Dream on buddy... dream on... Saw a graphic during the game on RBI from the DH position, it had Gomes at 19 and Ortiz at 18 (or the other way around, either way big so far)... could that be right? You guys have already gotten 40 RBI from the DH position? Or do those numbers include when they played a position? Mench became the first right hander in MLB history to homer in 7 straight today... that's about all the good news I have from this end... dang Indians just plink and plunk away don't they? ...down the lines, Texas leaguers, etc... guess that's why they're number 1 or 2 in most all of the offensive categories...
  24. Isn't anyone going to guess the movie? I don't want to be the only one playing... OK... I'll guess it but you will just complain about my clues for the next one!
