...it doesn't really bother me one way or the other... of course, I've read the part about the "affairs with parishoners" in different places through the years, though I don't know about veepee being fired from his church... but like I said, it doesn't bother me any either way, and I'm not going to go search the internet to find out where I read it before... leave it out of the equation and he would still be what he was... ...and personally... I'm not naive enough to think that he didn't start fooling around with parishoners until he met up with the hippies... I think it was something he had been practicing for a long time... hippies just made it easier...

thank you my friend from the sock drawer for the links and your thoughts on the subject... here's a couple of questions that invaded my brain because I've been watching public TV tonight... 1) Pete Townsend? Do you knowledgable folks consider him good? ...or is/was he just prolific? 2) John Denver? Not a rock guitarist, but sure does seem to put some nice music with some beautiful (though sometimes sappy) lyrics... Just wondering... P.S. Until the satellite went out (hooray rain at last!) I was watching the video from Clapton's Crossroads festival here (was it last year?)... which, if they ever have it here again, any or all of you are welcome to crash here if you want to attend... I hear it was very well received among the musical types...

ahhhhhh.... (that was a sigh).... am I the only one who has always wondered how the Yardbirds managed to bring all of those guys to "age"? Or was it that they already had "it" and the Yardbirds were just lucky enough to find them one after the other? Or do I just wonder these things because I'm an earth bound non player?

Costco has the seasons boxes... this it the third and final year for it (they'll do two more two hour movies to wrap it up)... if you find it entertaining now, go back to the beginning... it's pretty accurate historically and the characters you're seeing now, while enjoyable, will have a lot more depth... it is a good show... ...or you could just rent them probably...

For the first few years (20-25 years ago) I'd just tell folks that I was in a 'Biblical Research and Teaching Ministry'... the Jim Jones thing was still fresh in peoples minds... then that evolved into 'I was in a BR&TM that some called a cult' (15-20 years ago) but I'd then go on to add that even the followers in the first centure were called 'the cult of Jesus Christ' (that's what veepee taught us)... of course, I didn't know of all the rottenness at the core... then I just shortened it all to 'I used to be in a cult' and if folks expressed interest or a desire to know more, I'd tell them about it... still not knowing of the rottenness at the core... Nowadays... I still tell folks I was in a cult... because I was... and I feel that TWI fits all of the criteria for both being a cult and being an evil cult... with all of the negative connotations... I don't really care what anyone I might say that to might think, heck, most just laugh and say something like "oh really, now it all makes sense" and we have a laugh and leave it at that... for those who want to know more, I tell them. I'm not ashamed to admit I got taken in because I got taken in with a good heart and good intentions (same as most, if not all, of the folks who frequent this board) and I'm of the opinion that's it's no sin to get taken in by someone or something but it is a sin if you continue with it once you know better...
