you guys can have your "girlfriend time" but don't forget about the rest of us... you could probably carve out a couple of hours for us to meet (at the Flying Saucer?) for a couple of brews and chat... don't you think? Jerry, I don't know of any fellowships, but T-Bone and Tonto, dooj, andreatheflorist (if she's still around) and others are all around here (DFW) as well...
  3. yes you did... mwah!!! (or however you spell it)
  4. no argument from me on the second statement... it's one of the nicest places I've ever seen a game... I hope the changes you've been talking about don't ruin it... as for the first statement... I've still gotta get there...
  5. That's funny myotherseestorEx... my Mom took one of our classes but wasn't too impressed (being a person who put more credence into how one acted than how one spoke), I don't recall if she ever SIT... she wasn't too concerned though, she knew (and knows) she's all right with the mothership...
  6. I don't understand... is there something that's not here on this thread about the organization that I don't know? From what's on this thread about the organization, I don't see anything that makes them "bad" necessarily. They're looking for a candidate, they want a panel interview, this is the time they can do it. If you want the position, or to be considered for it, that's when you need to be there. Is there some reason you can't reschedule with the grandma?
  7. Since when does it cost $600 to change plane tickets? That number is way too high. Even if they're non-refundable you can cancel and apply them towards your next ticket purchase. It's looks like it's just one of those things, go to the interview and reschedule with Grandma... if you reschedule Grandma two or three weeks out you should be able to get a good discount.
  8. Ca... you're almost there! two icons to the right of where you put "links" is where you would paste those picture urls... it looks like a tree and when you put your curser over it, it says "insert image"... if you click that and paste your urls in there, it will show up as a picture both in preview and post... Like this: (all I'm doing is copying your urls)
  9. ... where was everybody? ...I took refreshments to twig last night and no one came... was it the wrong night? (good thing they were twinkies, so they'll keep)...
  10. help her Raf... you're good at that stuff...
  11. "...that is not what makes the Yankees successful"...? ...but it is one very important part of the puzzle wouldn't you say? That they spend the most may not have been their initial intention but they (NYY, BOS) are going after the best talent available as well, and as the agents play the offers against each other they usually end up with it as they (as you've pointed out) have the deepest pockets... I'm not saying (and I don't think the scribes are either) that throwing money around is the only way, I'm saying (and I think they are, too) that one of the reasons that "name talent" seems to migrate, for the most part, to the AL is because that is where the money gets spent. It's just a fact. The conjecture is that it gets spent in order to keep up with NYY and BOS... and I just don't know how one could argue with that... short of a player giving a 'home town discount' (few and far between) the NYY and BOS have the deepest pockets and if a team wants the player that is going after the money they have to spend accordingly (especially if NYY or BOS are interested in the player)... ...and that's why most of the talent migrates to the AL... more teams spend more money there... as a rule (not always) the way to the playoffs is through the wallet and the playoffs is where the gravy is at the bottom of the bowl... (i.e. extra profit)
  12. yes... the GWB pic was another 'duh'... CaDream, you're going to have to break down and post sometime... might as well get it over with!
  13. yeah... I know what you mean... we're playing TOR right now and the announcer brought up that AJ Burnett and Vincent Padilla were both at about .500 lifetime in similar number of games, TOR had to pay $12 or $13 Million for AJB and we traded Ricardo Rodriguez straight up for Padilla and he's making about $4 million... oh, and Padilla looked strong again tonight... (and we're still happy with young Ian)
  14. I heard that as well... that since the appeal process had not been completed at the time of death, the whole thing is wiped out... therefore the government can't go after "ill-gotten" money... it is kind of surprising how many people think this was somehow engineered... that he took the coward's way out and also protected the 'family money' as it were...
