OM, even you would have to agree that there's a big difference between "lots of the stuff I teach is not original" and "lots of the stuff I've written is copied word for word from other men's books"... To get picky (and why not): Unless the teaching were by revelation, it wouldn't be 'original' because it would have to have been read or researched somewhere... but to slap your name on books as "the author" when most of what you did was copy passages from other books is quite different. So... IMO... the "lots of stuff I teach is not original" argument doesn't fly here...

What I'm getting so far is at times there was pressure, at times there was intimidation... so that it was"understood" that you needed to give in excess of 10% "or else"... sometimes that meant no class, sometimes that meant God would "abandon" you... And if I'm hearing this correctly, people were told 12%, 15% etc. but a specific number was never put in writing or on tape? Which gets me to thinking that somehow that had to be communicated to the leadership in the field maybe via tape, letter, etc... Also (Bullinger) it would be logical to follow the playing/reading of one of the "rants" (when motivation was immediate and high) with a verbal declaration of "X" percentage is what you should be giving...

I saw a "house of the future" built entirely (or somewhere around 95%) out of recycled material... that stuff that we can use, we should... I believe in recycling... I don't know if it makes any more difference than a pimple on a donkey's a$$... but I recycle...

Johniam, I'm thinking that Jesus probably never told his disciples "Truth needs no defense" if they asked him a question and also willing to bet that he probably didn't instruct them to use that phrase either. And there's a great chasm of difference between Jesus' ministry and TWI... maybe even a canyon... ...but I still enjoy using "the powers" now and then...
