  1. so maybe Coco just needs a little time to get used to the pressure of playing in/for Boston... the stRanger faithful thank your boys for taking down the A's today, please repeat tomorrow... stRangers are right in the middle of Tejada rumors...
  2. Yes puttytat... I was thinking about the lyrics tonight... they reminded me of TWI: COSMIK DEBRIS by Frank Zappa The mystery man came over And he said "I'm outta sight!" He said for a nominal service charge I could reach nirvana tonight If I was ready, willing and able To pay him his regular fee He would drop all the rest of His pressing affairs and devote His attention to me But I said "Look here brother who you jiving with that cosmik debris? Now who you jiving with that cosmik debris? Look here brother, don't waste your time on me" The mystery man got nervous And he fidget around a bit He reached in the pocket of his mystery robe And he whipped out a shaving kit Now I thought it was a razor And a can of foaming goo But he told me right then when the top popped open There was nothin' his box won't do With the oil of Aphrodite, and the dust of the Grand Wazoo He said "You might not believe this, little fella But it'll cure your asthma too" And I said "Look here brother Who you jiving with that cosmik debris? Now what kind of a guru are you, anyway? Look here brother, don't waste your time on me" *(Don't waste your time)* "I've got troubles of my own", I said "And you can't help me out So, take your meditations and your preparations And ram it up your snout!" "But I got the crystal ball", he said And held it to the light So I snatched it, all away from him And I showed him how to do it right I wrapped a newspaper 'round my head So I looked like I was deep I said some mumbo-jumbo, then I told him he was going to sleep I robbed his rings and pocketwatch And everything else I found I had that sucker hypnotized He couldn't even make a sound I proceeded to tell him his future, then As long as he was hanging around I said "The price of meat has just gone up And your old lady has just gone down!" And I said "Look here brother-who you Jiving with that cosmik debris? Now is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho? Don't you know, you could make more money as a butcher? So, don't waste your time on me" Don't waste it, don't waste your time on me *(Shante)* OK... it's really CalDreamer's turn now... thank you all for indulging me.
  3. hey... while we're waiting for CalDreamer... does anyone know this one? The mystery man came over And he said "I'm outta sight!" He said for a nominal service charge I could reach nirvana tonight If I was ready, willing and able To pay him his regular fee He would drop all the rest of His pressing affairs and devote His attention to me
  4. no... it was a young guy... Luke Hudson, 29, 6'3", 195 and until tonight 2-3 with a 5.17 ERA... only 31;1 innings though with an amazing 16 BB to 19 KO ratio! It was a total team effort tonight... three errors, listless bats, Padilla getting hit like he was throwing BP in the second... well... there's tomorrow, you're gonna have one of those games every once in a while...
  5. That's why we never go there! I know Ron... I was talking about the pics across the top... but they're over there in "About the Way"... Pass the pear juice please (alliteration)
  6. Who is this freaking Hudson pitching for the Royals? Tonight he looks like Cy Young!
  7. Is there a difference in the motivation/purpose/reason? Were you told that you had to do one and wanted to do the other? Regardless, the instances of craziness that folks are sharing about were times they were "told to" do something or "expected" to do something. Like Oak said, we all agree that it didn't originate with TWI, but at least for me... they were the only times in my life that I was "expected" to do things like that...
  8. or you can use this pic for the third clue. (the person on the right)
  9. he probably could've prolonged his career a little bit (or been more sucessful these last couple of years) if he'd gotten in shape... I guess he never was "in shape" was he? coming back w/o any rehab starts? I assume he's been at least pitching 'simulated' games (whatever those are)... I have the game on now... bottom of the first... Lee is DHing... standing O... WTF... sheesh... just kind of makes me chuckle... but folks here are hungry... and a little giddy...
  10. what happened to those other scary pictures that were up there?
  11. I clicked there and nothing happened.... was that the joke?
  12. I meant that Melvin had drafted Mench and Nix (at least I'm pretty sure)... Cordero came from Detroit in the Juando deal... Buck is already saying he's going to play Cruz in RF tomorrow... Wells needs to come back... he's money in the playoffs... I forget the exact numbers but, if I'm not mistaken, he's got some of the all time best playoff stats...
  13. sorry paw... no cups in this one... just a tasty young actress in this movie... (the one on the right)
  14. I look now and see 1940... I knew there was one 'way back' but thought that they had remade it with Peter O'toole...
  15. mia lafave orr itt Y fife my favorite wife?
  16. Here's the bat we wanted... Maybe Cordero will find himself, Mench has been platooning and streaky, Nix hasn't been able to stick with the big team... it's interesting that these are all players Doug Melvin drafted when he was Texas' GM... so he knows them... And Lee's numbers look pretty good... I'd say it looks like Cordero and Mench for Lee and Nix for Cruz... my sources also say we'll throw in minor league lefty Julian Cordero. A deal that serves both teams... did we over pay? ...probably, we're the buyers. Good luck to Coco and Shrek.
  17. he's down under now niKa so it's tomorrow already there and he missed your post... if he posted now to answer you, you wouldn't see it until Saturday (I think)...
  18. Any help here? Is anyone else home? "My Favorite..." is what I think it starts with
  19. maybe if we get a bat... and Millwood stays Millwood, and Padilla keeps pitching well, and if Eaton rounds into form that'll be just like getting a pitcher, and if Kam Loe comes back from his injury... The bullpen's good (most times)... if Jon Daniels will go get us a bat (Vernon Wells?) we just might make a go of it...
  20. here's what I've got so far Mia/blonde teacher/debra lafave/blonde orr itt YMCA/club don/dawn/knotts/not/barney/fife My favorite...
  21. Is this the same hockey player as the one in your picture?
  22. does it have something to do with a purple dinosaur?
  23. I just don't want to jinx them... know what I mean? Let's see if young Jon Daniels does anything... or who knows? ...maybe they'll have a "White Sox Sale" and be in the Series in a year or two... anyone remember that from a couple of years ago? We really love them. I think we have one of the best infields in baseball... but right now (so far) they've been very average and would more than likely get eaten alive should they make it to the playoffs... BUT hope springs eternal... things could start falling right for them... maybe the off day today will help them "get their head right with ball"...
  24. Dude... that was weak! (but if you hadn't said it, I would've)
