  1. OK then... how about this one: You’re on the road but you’ve got no destination You’re in the mud, in the maze of her imagination You love this town even if it doesn’t ring true You’ve been all over and it’s been all over you
  2. Three way? BALT/HOU/TEX? I know it's a cheesy thing to do, but there's a lot of scenarios here and I can't type a synopsis without filling in info so I'll just cut and paste. (from newbergreport.com)
  3. I'll look for ya! as for NYY, they can rotate the four of them in and out of DH... when they were here last week Damon just didn't look right (hurt?) but that didn't stop them from sweeping us... Matsui sure seems like a good guy... and I think Sheffield might get dragged down (and into) the Bonds thing...
  4. Okay Mr Whatever... So... Mr Whatever, look at YOUR WORDS, look at the ones that I put in bold... On the one hand YOU say "Today I think hitching is dangerous"... then YOU say "I don't think hitchhiking was 'tempting God'" Now, Mr Whatever... it's my contention that if someone sends you out to do something dangerous, and tells you to believe God for a safe trip... that's tempting God ...does your logic work differently Mr Whatever? Hitching has always been dangerous (whether you thought it was or not)... that's why your Mother told you not to do it and worried about you whenever you did...
  5. Dangit! we're not gonna score 54! ...stuck on 15 at the end of 7... starman! what's up? your boys were within 3?
  6. Nope, I was fortunate... but that doesn't discount that it was dangerous, unnecessary and stupid for them to have required it... nor does it change the fact that they were either ignorant or just didn't care. Same response as above... Why does it appear that you feel the (what seems like) absolute need to cover for them? ...or to shield them from blame? They purposely made people do dangerous and foolish things... that had NOTHING to do with moving God's Word over the world... Sometimes I think they just sat around in a circle, passing the jug, saying things like "hey! let's see if we can get them to do this!"
  7. I thought the same thing moony but thought also that maybe they brewed other beers or 'loaned' that phrase to Oly...
  8. hey Simon! how's come Buck always goes to and from the mound with his one hand on his hip/in his pocket? ...and then he swings the free hand kind of like he's skipping... ya know it does kinda look.. um... well, you know what I mean... what are the D'backs doing? ...tonight I'm kind of wondering how the Royals (players and manager) feel when they see all of this activity every year? ...I think they're maybe 'waiting with anticipation for a ticket out of hades'...
  9. Very good GSG! You're up! Although I made a mistake and the movie I was thinking of is really titled REQUIEM FOR A DREAM... but there's a whole bunch of "Requiem"s on IMDB... do I get punished? (Jennifer Connelly is who I was referring to in the first clue)
  10. We're on pace to score 54 runs tonight! First four innings: 0-2-4-6 wake your boys up! we need the LAAofA to lose...
  11. And I'm glad that your times were "without incident"... truly I am... BUT that doesn't mean that hitching isn't dangerous because IT IS... and I guaran-dam-tee you that those in authority knew it was as well... It falls into the category of either tempting God (i.e. "let's see if everyone can believe to have safe trips") or they were too dang cheap to pay for transportation and they flat out didn't care if folks lives were endangered. Either way, it sucks and it was wrong... it and a number of other things that were asked/expected of us at the time that had absolutely NOTHING to do with "moving God's Word over the world"... It was arrogance and heartlessness on every plane of existence you can name...
  12. Buck the politician... you can bet that Daniels isn't doing anything unless it has Buck's blessing... I don't know much about Corey, maybe that's also a good sign because that means he didn't come in from the pen with a can of gasoline... he was in our bullpen and had a decent ERA... Kinsler just went yard so we're up 6-0 in the third... I glanced over at your game and saw the LA/AA already had 6 on the board in the 3rd... Where's hiway been? and Simontheloaded? The stRangers are hitting BP tonight... I hope they've woken up finally... this nap has been too long!
  13. Did I kill this with Frank Zappa?

    Guitar Talk

I need to ask you musicians a question: How come every time I hear the opening chords to "Where the Streets Have No Name" I start to get this "feeling" that turns into full blown chills by the time the first lyrics are being sung? It happens every single time. I really do like a lot of their songs, maybe even love some of them... for their spirit, music and heart... some of them get me sometimes, depends on my mood, but that song never, ever, fails to generate that feeling... why? (and I apologize for this not being guitar specific)
  15. That's why Tonto never lets you take tests!
  16. I've met Raf and he's a pretty nice guy... and was exactly how I thought he'd be... (although he doesn't look so much like Jon Lovitz in real life)... Yeah, erroring on the side of caution is a must... but I do feel that if I've been corresponding with folks here for years, if I've got any smarts at all, I've been able to figure out "how" they are...
  17. This girl? (sorry, I guess her face was covered) or this girl? or this girl? She's the highest paid 16 year old in the world... and "earns" it all by herself.
  18. The Rangers have sent cash to Colorado for 31-year-old veteran catcher Miguel Ojeda. This must mean that they have a trade in the works that includes Barajas... Texas has dealt RHP Bryan Corey to Boston for 22-year-old RHP Luis Mendoza, who has split the season between High A and AA. ?????
  19. UH-BRAY-U (phonetic spelling) and a pitcher to NYY for prospects?
  20. oops... sorry... yep... Dreamer is correct... (sorry to hold things up)
  21. Maybe if you think of the role she's playing in each picture...
  22. One of the local critics here that I usually like and agree with said it's the best movie he's seen this year... or in a long time for that matter... and that it's already getting Oscar nods... and that the two best movies (in his mind) this year are this one and "United 93"... As to the timliness? I don't know, it seems like "United 93" was in and out of theaters so fast that I missed it by the time I'd decided to go ahead and see it... so I guess I'll catch it when it comes to HBO, etc. This movie seems to be a little different than that one though and I'm not hearing the 'hesitations' on this one that I heard on "United 93" nor am I feeling them... I'll most likely go see it when it comes out...
  23. Thanks! we'll take it... here's what today's "Farm Report" said: And now I see where Tejada says that he doesn't want to play third and doesn't want out? But says he'll play third if he has to, maybe Young will move again? Or maybe Kinsler to third, Young back to second and Tejada at SS? I say whoever has the strongest arm goes over there... AND he doesn't want to leave Baltimore? HUH? That's all I've heard all season... he may be saying that now, but I'm thinking that all of the stuff he said earlier 'broke the camel's back' if you know what I mean... we'll see... the pitching coming back was Diamond (of our promising DVD: Danks/Volqez/Diamond) trio... but as yet I'd only heard of three players (Blalock, Diamond and Arias who is a promising SS)... Interesting that they've talked to HOU about Lidge as well... do they just want insurance or do they think that Otsuka is better in set up? Anyway, looking at the ESPN rumor page... there's a lot "in the air" (of course, ESPN could just be making it all up)... but I'm glad that our boy wonder is busy... we're thinking that Hicks has some confidence in him now because of how he's done these last few months and might be willing to up the payroll...
