I have a regular fellowship group... we meet every Saturday morning (weather permitting) on the first tee.

I was gone long before these tapes were made... but I gotta tell ya, I was getting 'the willies' watching them...

If you see her (or another bumper sticker) again you should just walk up to her and tell her, out of the blue: "I've been wanting to know how to separate truth from error"... oh dangit! that won't work now will it? ...they ditched that class...

I'm not trying to get in the middle of this, but, I thought you guys were arguing/debating whether or not JAL had worked a day in his life... or had a job in the real world. And that was what was distracting from the issue... ...and I think that debate/argument can go away if y'all don't mind... it's been reported that he's conducting SAT classes, etc. I also hope that CES/STFI folks can sift through all of this, read all of this and realize that we're just like everyone else in the world. We have different opinions on different things. We're different people not all thinking the same thing... and we still manage to co-exist. It's just that not all the moments are worthy of singing koom-bye-yah. In other words, we're like any other family/community.

I have been discussing this letter because I think it is one of the problems. In my opinion. It looks and sounds very sincere... but it's not. Just as the note from John S on the other thread wasn't. On the other thread I constantly asked the question "how can you trust THE BOARD" when they were complicit and culpable in all that has gone on? On this thread I've called for THE BOARD and JAL to get REPENTANT, HONEST AND HUMBLE... and lay everything out for their folks... I don't care where... just do it. Admitting to only what you've been caught doing is neither HONEST nor REPENTANT...

Will you do the same concerning JAL and THE BOARD? That's all I've been doing.

No, we wouldn't want to be the cause of that... OR Maybe someone from CES/STFI will cruise by this thread #3, see "B.S." being called on JAL AND THE BOARD and maybe they'll agree. I'm trying to stay away from slinging any mud... I called for REPENTANCE, HONESTY and HUMILITY... they (JAL and THE BOARD) owe their followers that. Haven't seen any from them yet... just posturing. I don't feel that's gossiping, that's standing up in the room and calling B.S. on the guy at the podium.

I'm not passing judgement either. I'm simply saying "hey... look over there... is that a whited sepulchre? Sure looks like one to me." And if you don't think that CES/STFI folks haven't been coming here to look... you haven't been taking a look at the "guest" figures on the front page... also, in the first couple of days there were over 600 views per hour to CES thread... and many thousands more since then. Do you think that's just GS folks? They're coming here to find out information about the ministry/organization they've been supporting/following. They should be able to go to the CES/STFI site for that... but there's nothing there is there? There's the fringe on both sides of the spectrum, but the majority of the posters here have concern for people being used and hurt... I've got some spare time and I don't mind calling a spade a spade when I see it. The ENTIRE BOARD (and JAL) ought to (owe it to) their supporters to put something out there for them to see... IF they're truly repentant and want to save it.

First of all.. HONESTY. You think he wasn't addressing that directly to GSC, knowing that it would be posted here? "somehow wind up on the internet"... give me a break. HE KNEW JEFF WAS GOING TO POST IT. NO HONESTY. Secondly, I haven't seen a whole lot of posts concerning "a detailed inquiry into his personal life"... this has been by and large about an organization/ministry that he is intricately involved with (I said intricately, not officially). He says so himself in the 'position paper'. I'm not backbiting the guy although there has been some posts here that appear to be... but maybe they're just fed up with the lack of HONESTY and CANDOR in his communications. AND WHERE IS THE BOARD? WHERE IS THEIR COMMUNICATION. As I said above, it doesn't have to be here at GSC... heck, it should be on their own site! What more could CES/STFI fellowshippers ask for? HONESTY, HUMILITY, REPENTANCE, GRACE They've gotten none of those things (so far) from THEIR BOARD.

ME in Bold: I would guess that the best way he, and the board, could spend their time would be first to come clean honestly about whatever has been going on. And they don't have to do it here at GSC, they can do it on their own site for all I care. But forthrightness and honesty has been sorely lacking from both JAL and THE ENTIRE BOARD. Many have alluded here to other things that have been allowed to happen... WHY NOT DEAL WITH IT ALL? WHY NOT PUT ALL OF THE LAUNDRY OUT THERE TO BE WASHED? As opposed to only admitting to 'what you think they know about'? And they should do it in the open spaces of the internet because that will reach the most people the quickest. IF they're really interested in cleaning things up as opposed to huddling in the bunker trying to defend themselves from the grenades being tossed. STAND UP and put it out there for folks to deal with... HONESTLY... without reservation. IF one were really repentant they wouldn't care "how it looks"... along with a lack of HONESTY here there seems to be also a lack of HUMILITY. Of course, that's just my take... YMMV

I can only speak for me Rocky, and I left long before you did... but I still get extremely upset when I hear of folks being hurt and/or used... whether they "allowed themselves" to be or not... I just DO NOT like people who do that to other people. I know there are users/abusers all over the place TWI/CES/STFI do not have the corner on the market... but I will call them out and (attempt) to kick their a$$e$ when I can... regardless of how long ago I came to whatever conclusion it was in my mind... But that's just me... :)

Ask John Lynn... he seems to have been able to do it for quite some time now... Seriously, just kidding... I don't know CW... but thinking about it, if I were trying to do it... I'd look on the internet for "Grants"... to try and get some money behind me. Then I'd try to look up folks/businesses that are doing something in the same field that my idea was in... and before I talked with them, I'd consult a patent/copyright attorney... Maybe that's the first step... consult a patent/copyright attorney, check out the local bar and see if anyone offers free consultation, or consultation for a minimal fee...
