Why hasn't Loy started his own splinter group?
J0nny Ling0 replied to GrouchoMarxJr's topic in About The Way
This is all hypothetical conjecture anyway. The man's track record is bad. But once again, no one knows what is in the heart of a man or a woman but God Almighty. Paul changed from a murdring priest, to a minister of the gospel of our lord Jesus Christ. Anything can happen, that's all I am saying, and I would rather be more like Jesus and say "forgive him Father, for he knew not what he did", than to be like the crowds that screamed; "Crucify him!" If the man does want to change, then that is between he and God. If it is a bogus "Saul like" "change", then that is between he and God also. I don't really waste much time thinking about it. This thread came up, so I commented with my beliefs. If he wants to start a new "ministry", that's his business. But I don't think it would get much of a start in this country unless he changed his name and his manner of being. -

Ala P, I agree with everything you said. When it comes to your last paragraph: ,All I can say is that no one knows but God. And certainly no one is saying "let's help him start a new ministry" or anything like that. I am just saying that this is not in the realm of impossibility for a person to change, no matter how much anyone was hurt by that person. Paul got through his Christian murdering ordeal, many many ExTWI leaders repented and have had a complete change of heart with apologies extended as well, and it is not in the realm of impossibility for Craig to change also. And as for me, it serves me better, for my own peace of mind to wish him "serious get well", pray for him, and for me not to dwell on the negatives I had while involved with him. I mentioned the thing about Craig's Grand Ma in response to Cherish Child's mention of LCM at one time having a tender heart, and that incident that my wife shared with me fit that particular sentiment. "If thine enemy hunger, feed him. If he thirsts, give him to drink. For inso doing, thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head (and warm him through and through) Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good" Paraphrase of Romas 12, last one or two verses. I know that I am in the right if I do that, that is, if the Good Book means anything to me. And since I am not around and am highly unlikely to ever be around LCM again while in this earthly body, the only "good" that I can do for him is to pray for him when I think about him, and hope that he gets to his knees and humbles himself before the Almighty Hand of God. I mean, in relation to his life today, that would be the only good thing that could happen to him, right? And then, maybe God could help him from there. -
"Would it be available for you to abundantly share some of your time and talents by coming over with your pick up truck and as the mystery in motion help me move from my apartment where my landlord, a lady straight from the pit has recently kicked me out because she can't stand the light of the Word? And I mean, we really need to move The Word....." Translated into "old English". Look, I got kicked out of my apartment because I wouldn't pay my rent. Will you bring your truck over and help me move? Excathedra, you kill me. You are so "dry". I laughed really hard when I saw your "non Way appropriate" word: "goddammit". Too funny!

And Oakspeare- Your credibility with me is way restored for shore. And I do respect your opinion and am swayed by it as well. Have a great day! :)--> JL

Steve! Didn't you ever wonder about the tattooed numbers on her arm or wherever? Or was she fortunate enough not to get one? And if she was that young, maybe it didn't make as much of an indelible impression on her, which, would be a good thing I guess.

Whoa, Steve! That's deep man. From what country did they hail before they were taken captive?

Cherished Child, Like you said, we don't know anything at all about where his head and heart is at, and so, since it doesn't cost me anything, I will hope for the best for him. My wife knew him way back in Oklahoma days before he was any kind of a big shot, and she said that he had a tender heart and was very kind. My wife sat with his Grand Ma once, and even she said that when Craig was little, he had great respect for life and didn't like it when other kids tortured bugs and would go to their (the bug's) defense. And now someone will proably make a crack about "well at least Craig drew the line somewhere!" But I have pre-empted that. Through his sin, he has ruined many a human. And maybe just maybe, he can come back from that. I know that there are many an ex Way leaders who post here who had probably been on that same "Elite Way Leadership Bandwagon" who have now changed, and Craig should be afforded that same chance, for Craig followed VPW as we did at one time when he was just a "new guy"... -
Ok Oakspeare, point well taken. No doubt it did offend many Jews. But, since we don't know that young Prince Harry was purposefully mocking the Jews, I am still not so sure that he should be "seriously disciplined over this one" as Waterbuffalo put it. He could have been mocking the "Supreme Race", or the Arian Nations types for all we know. I wonder if he was speaking in a faux German accent and pretending to be an arrogent German Officer in a self depracating manner while at this party while drinking schnapps or something. There is no question that there would be and now is a big flap over it that's for sure! I am definitely not surprised that His Spareness has an apparent "devil may care" attitude, with the sole "purpose" of his life being that of a "spare" ya know. I am sure he can overcome this, but really, that must be a weird thing for him from time to time, and probably skews his mindset at times...

Oakspear you quoted me and then said something that I will quote from you "Not to the extent of excusing the Nazi's"? Excuse me? Do I read you correct in accusing me of excusing the Nazis? Listen dude, you are way wrong on that one. I don't think your opinions will hold much weight with me much longer if you read that one into what I was saying. For I did not say that. Now, you correctly read that I do believe that His Spareness should be excused for his boyish prank, and that is fine that you don't like that. And hey, when the Nazi's stormed into Poland (can you say blitzkrieg?), you may not think that they were trying to exterminate the Poles, but you just tell that to the Poles at that time! The wholesale slaughter of Women, Children and their Daddies and Brothers is just that: Wholesale slaughter. Call it what you want, but they (the Nazis) were the scourge of the earth no matter what their political or military tactic. Anyone who stood against them, got DEATH, if they were able to dish it out. And back to the point. Harry was no doubt hoping to ruffle some feathers, and I think he succeeded, and I think that if people make a big deal out of it, young Harry will have succeeded in his prank all the more. But as far as me "excusing the Nazis", then well, you could not be further from the truth. My Dad and his buddies fought the bloody Hun during that war, and he is doing his last tour of duty at Arlington National Cemetary because of his battle heroics. I excuse the Nazis for nothing. I just don't think that young Harry did anyhting that bad, that's all. As one poster put it, his costume was poking fun at the Nazis. Remember Rowan and Martin's Laugh In? Remember that guy that always dressed as a Nazi and would say; "Vedddy Intedesting, but stooopid". Remember that guy? That was never considered an outrage. I don't think that this should be either...

If Craig wanted to start out cold, and start a ministry, then he would probably have to legally change his name, go to some Church for awhile, and then enroll in the seminary that supports that particular church, denomination, or whatever. I think about that movie "The Apostle" with old what's his name. Oh yeah, Robert Duvall. He killed a guy in a fit of passion, went down into the deeper South, and ressurrected an old black Church, and with his sin compartmentalized somewhere in his brain, did a whole lot of good for that church and for many individuals. But, when the Law came for him, he gave it up, and went to jail to pay his debt to society. And while in that jail, at the very end when he was on the chain gang, he still was a preachin! But, he did admit his sin... -
My daddy always told me to never hit a woman. And so, I never have and never will. It just isn't done where I came from. I guess I would if it were a life or death thing like Clint Eastwood did in Play Misty For Me, but that surely was just that: "life or death". She was a murderess. I kind like the way King David handled his mouthy wife Michal, who mocked David because he danced naked before the Lord. He just "cut her off", and refused to **** her for the rest of their married life...

It seems to me Sudo, that what you have there is an evolved version of the "Nigerian Bank Scam". I used to get them so often about three years ago it was drivin me nuts! In fact, I read the first one innocently (from "Mrs. Sani Abacha" widowed wife of one time Nigerian VIP), and thought briefly on it, but quickly checked out Snopes.com, and got really p.o.'d about it and wrote them (the scammers), a scathing letter in return. And after that, I began a file on all of the scam letters that came my way just for fun. I actually have a huge file of these lying letters that is entitled "Lying Africans". And what I used to do (but haven't for a long time now), was each time I would get one, I would add that letter to the top of the Lying African list, and then send the whole batch of letters in "pasted on" form back to the scammer and let them know that; "Now you too are at the very TOP of the Lying African file which is being sent directly to the United States Federal Bureau Of Investigation Mail Fraud Division!" I thought it was really funny after awhile, because many times, the same "deposed Democratic and very Christian" leaders would come up, but it would be signed by a bereaved mother the next time around, or, a son and daughter, or some crapola. I still have that list Of "Lying Africans" letters somewhere. Want a copy? Haha! On a sad note however, apparently, there have been a few Americans who have followed through on the scam, and had actually gone over to Nigeria where they met with the scammers, and then were murdered for the goods and money that they had in their posession. I guess the real goal of the scammers is for you and I to divulge our bank account numbers so they can somehow get into it and steal our money. One time I wrote this one guy back who had claimed that he was a Christian Missionary, and I simply read him the riot act about being a LIAR with Bible verses included, and he actually wrote me back and told me that he had in fact lied, but that he was so sorry for lying and using the name of Jesus on order to try and steal. He said that his country was in the middle of a civil war (Sierra Leone), and that his was an act of desperation, "And so, Sir, could you please send me some money anyway?" I wrote back to him and forgave him, but only told him that he could pray and that God would meet his needs according to a list of Bible verses that I shared with him. If I could have trusted that he was really being honest, I might have actually sent him a money order of some amount. But, I, we, can't really afford to get involved with someone who may well be "still scammin". Oh, and it seemed as if almost all of the letters started in the subject line when it would come into my e-mail box with "Urgent" or "Urgent Assitance Need" or some such crapola..

Yeah, I think you are over reacting just a little. Look, as someone else pointed out, Harry is the "spare". I think this is just the perfect way for a "spare" to act. I mean, come on, his father was an a$$hole to beloved Lady Dianna, who was killed in a horrible car wreck, but only after she had dutifully, as a good Princess, given birth to the "required" "heir and a spare". How would any of us like to be thought of as just a "spare"? I imagine that young Harry may well have a decent bit of resentment towards all of this business, and that this is the natural reaction of a young twenty year old in such a peculiar perdicament. I would not doubt it at all if he was a little resentful about "acting as required", and therefore does the usual prankish things that "spares" are known to pull. Wasn't Prince Charles's brother somewhat of a rogue? And that Fergie, whatever she was, is (although admittedly not a "spare"), has always been somewhat of a "trouble maker". I think it is just fine and dandy, and as far as being offensive to the Jewish community goes, I think they should lighten up. It was a costume party for heaven sakes. They weren't the only group to be hurt by the Nazi's. The Poles, Russians, and many in the Baltics were murdered wholesale by the Nazi's. And of course, do not forget the Battle Of Britain, where the Krauts bombed the crap out of England. Many many Brits died in that one, and mothers were left childless, children Motherless and on and on as did also happen to the Jews. What's worse? Being murdered or left Childless? Or being murdered or left Childless? Me? I love political INCORRECTNESS. Naww, don't severely disciple young Harry, just laugh with His Spareness...

Why hasn't Loy started his own splinter group?

Maybe he is spent. Maybe he is repentant. Maybe he has realized that after having lost his family and his whole "life as he knew it", that maybe he was terribly wrong and that he should just remain as a whipped dog for awhile. Maybe he realizes that he hurt thousands of people really badly, and that he needs forgiveness and that he doesn't even feel worthy of running his own gig. The thing is, none of us know anything really. But this scenario that I suggest is not out of the realm of human possibility. For those of us who are Christians, maybe we should pray for him in the name of Jesus Christ... -
Well, beer is always a good subject, although a little off topic...But, a nice diversion though!

No, I am not saying that I would want Guinness, I was just asking you, because that is perhaps the only British Isles brew that I know of. I don't really like Guiness for that matter. So, what would be your preference, with you being English and all...

Tom! How ya doin?! Long time be in contact! I was away, but when I came back, I didn't see you around, but now "I see" you again :)-->

Sometimes I wonder if re-visiting this stuff is good for us at all. I mean, maybe just dumping it in the past might be a good thing?

Help needed with statistics of Way Corps graduating class size

Ya know Ex10, I believe you are right. For us to have only dropped 45 people doesn't sound right. I think it was 444, which means that 145 dropped be fore graduation... -

I am pretty sure that the Tenth Corps started out with 344, and am almost positive that we graduated with 299. -
Ya know, I suspected that this may have been an urban legend. At first, when I read the thread title, I was expecting to find the one about the Australian Gramma who took a pistol, found the men who raped her daughter, and shot their private parts off. That one was floatin around the Net awhile back, but, alas, it too turned out to be an "Urban Legend". Too bad it's just a legend though...
