  1. I left in '89, but was watching closely since 87. Was kicked out, basically, for not responding to Craig's request to tell him who I "stood with".... Sunesis, who is "WM"? I got ya on VF and RD, but WM? maybe you could "pm" me. And by the way, hi! Hope all is well. My whole famdamily is sick with the flu, little guys, everyone. But we will survive :)
  2. Yeah, pi$$es me off royally too. And now my friend "Allison" (I think I called her that in that thread I started when I told the story) has to tell her daughter that this slime gets to get away with all that he did to her. Well now, I guess that the upside to it is that at least Allison and her daughter can just move on now. The trial would have been worth the heart ache if they could have hung the ba st ard, but now, well, I guess the upside is that they can close this chapter of this bad Book, and move into the future where things can get better. There will be more chapters, but maybe, at least, they will be different, and the heaviness can drift into the past. I mean, nothing can change what he did to her anyway. Bad thing is that he is free to do it again. CASA huh?
  3. By the way, this just in. You all may remember the thread I started about a friend whose daughter had been sexually abused by my friends new husband? The friend of mine whose daughter is mildly retartded, whose new step father molested her for a year and led her into many many sex acts? Well, I just got an e-mail from her this morning, and I will post here what she told me, and what the DA told her: And so, my sweet friend from fifth grade, my fifth grade girlfriend and her sweet sixteen year old daughter have just gotten the shaft from the "justice" system. Her daughter was fourteen when it started, and at fifteen, my friend walked in on them and he was naked with a hard on, making her do an "act". But that doesn't matter, they are throwing the case out! WTF!!?? But the girl is mildly retarded you see, and doesn't nderstand anything other than "he made me do all of these things...." Sorry for the de-rail, but, it is sort of related. And, I x'd out her daughter's name and the town they are from...
  4. No. Why would I want to cause them to have a stumbling block concerning my judgement? To me the past is past....
  5. Hmmm, sounds suspect.....And so sorry to hear that they approached your 17 year old son like that and told him you are evil.. But then you went on to say that you haven't seen them in three years. "Them" who? Your two older children? Or "them" the splinter group. I certainly hope the latter! And clarify for me on this also ( I am a bit slow, sorry :) ) Was it in fact the Pat Powell/Geer group who said this to your son?
  6. Well, I didn't say he was not a sicko. Like I said before, I thought he was up to these sick sick communications with the college professor and anyone else because he was getting off on thinking of himself as the one who did it. But when he got into trouble in Thailand, ALSO found a very convenient way to get himself extradited due to his "cyber paper trail". And Hap I totally agree with you on this: Reminds me of the book "A Time To Kill" (John Grisham) when in the defense lawyer's attempt to clear his client for shooting the brutal rapists of his little daughter in his conluding statement, he described the whole sordid scene, then told the jury to close their eyes and then asked them to "just imagine if this little girl was white". And that got the black father off the hook for killing his daughters' rapists... I have often thought it amazing that this little girl, whose parents dressed her up like that, got so much attention, and yet in the wake of it all, there have been many many rape/murders ofpoor little black girls, who only get a small blip on the radar screen... Maybe if it happened like that to the daughter of Halle Berry, we would see the same outrage, I don't know.....
  7. I think that this: Is what is really going on. I didn't know he had charges against him in Thailand, and this provides an excellent reason for him to "confess" the way he did. He probably got into following the case for his own twisted and perverted reasons, and then when he got into trouble in Thailand, knew tht he had left a "cyber paper trail", that would help get him out of Thailand where he could be coddled by our sorry a$$ed legal system here in the states. I mean, if all he is facing is "child pornography charges" in Cali, then he'll make out just fine. I mean remember how that Connecticut judge gave some guy only six months for raping a six month old child? An Infant? And then of course there is my old elementary school friend whose fourteen year old mildly retarded was seduced and molested for a year by my friends own brand new husband (the sick ****!), and led into all of the sex acts, who is now on the verge of walking away from it. Yeah, my friend is so steamed and wants it all to end so badly and has no real money that she is near to the point of saying "screw it" and walking away from it all and not fighting it when they let him walk.... Yeah, I would say that this perv made a wise move, to get out of Thailand. Somebody simply needs to put a bullet between his eyes. A nice hollow point .44 magnum would do the job quite nicely...

  12. Hi EX10. Sounds nice. But if you'd noticed my first post here, you will se what I have found so far. Although, I must admit, I haven't looked too intensely, and maybe because of that, I haven't found what would be nice. I guess I am somewhat "burned out". Ever heard of that? And so, I am happy for your Fam...... :)
  13. I do remember VP spending considerable time one night talking to us about one Rev. Paul Cho, (a Korean?) minister who went into Communist China and set up what he called "cell groups" that were just like twigs. And there was some publication that he had us read concerning it, and VP seemed to give the man great credit for his efforts in moving the gospel of Christ amongst the Chinese in this "cell group" manner. I believe (if I remember correctly) that Cho attributed the idea to what he had seen in the book of Acts....
  14. Yeah Medic's Wife, you hit the nail on the head. :)

Yeah. I have an old friend who became the VP of TWI until recently. He used to play alot of rock and roll guitar, and back in the old twig when he and I were little people, he was in a band called Lone Oak. And he loved Roy Buchannan's music so much that he wrote a song called "Someday" about the hope, inspired by Mr. Buchannan's "The Messiah Will Come". Roy Buchannan was a local guy in Maryland/DC, and alot of us knew of him before he got so big. He used to play at a place down in Georgetown, DC, at a place called the Cellar Door. Harvey is the one who turned me on to Roy Buchannan, and I am glad he did. And, back when old Harve was "real", we used to love to hear him play with Lone Oak live at the "Psyche Deli", and my all time favorite was "Someday....."
  16. I don't think TWI invented home fellowships either. They were en vogue back in the First Century Church if you'll recall..... I have been to a few churches after TWI, but one thing that has been rough to handle is all of the "recruiting" that I have experienced when checking out a church. The folks are wonderful and well meaning, but I see the same "enthusiasm" and comittment to get me and my wife and kids to be members of that particular church, and, it is a bit hard to take. I have been quizzed on the "type of Christian salvation" I believe in, and all of that. Do you believe in once saved always saved, water baptism, the gifts of the spirit, and on and on. It reminded me of me when someone would simply come to my twig once in awhile, and instead of me just plain being happy to see them even once in awhile, I wanted more involvement fomr them. And so for me, no churches for us... Yeah, I know, I just haven't found the "right one". But so far, it all seems to be the same to me. I did go to one in the little town of Haines that I liked. There was a deposed Presbyterian minister who started his own fellowship in the all purpose room of the Haines Senior Citizen Center because the churched kicked him out because he would go with the new "gay" ruling thing that happened awhile back. At any rate, half the church agreed with him, and the other half didn't. And so, he tokk half of them, and moved into this senior citizens center on Sundays. And so, me amd my entire family showed up one Sunday morning only to find out that it was his very last service and that he was "hanging up the Cloth" for awhile. Boy, you should have seen the bewildered look on his face when our whole family of six walked in there! It was kind of a look that said; "Geez! I am quitting, and here is this whole Family coming to check us out! What am I actually doing?" Finally, about halfway through the meeting, with him giving us curious looks, he finally stopped and asked who we were, and how is it that we decided to come to his metting or whatever. And so, we introduced ourselves, and it was kinda neat. He did give it up though, for he needed to work and pay bills. We became friends, and have enjoyed spending time together. He reminded me of a burned out TWI rev, to tell you the truth. Tired of being told what to tell people is the Truth, etc....

And, there is short lick in Pink Floyd's "The Wall" (we don't need no edukition). I couldn't explain where this short little lick is in the song, but I'll try. It comes just after the kids yell; "Hey Teacher leave us kids alone and then the strat goes; "deee deet deet deeet dee dahh!" and just before resuming back to the the words "all we are is just another brick in the wall. Man, I just love that! Just those few tastily played notes totally makes that song for me.... A new friend of mine here in Juneau (who used to be the lead guitarist for Black Oak Arkansas), and I were talking about how much we loved that lick. He is the one who informed me that that was a classic Stratocaster sound. And by the way, he is an awesome guitarist still. He wasn't the original guitarist for them though. He was one of the "new guys" to come along as the band went through their ups and downs. He also said that "Jim Dandy" was an a-hole...

Where is Steely Dan's "Reelin In The Years" guitar solo? Didn't that one win the "guitar solo of the millenium" or some such really high honor? Golly gee, that solo makes my heart sing when the dude takes off the way he does....

Man, this is truly Amazing! I have a hard time expressing my joy in stumbling across this OLM from our youthful days. No wonder that song has always been a favorite of mine. And Socks, those lyrics are so telling dude! ...."Or go swimmin in the Sea" MOW! And so nice to see the lead vocalist and guitarist of Mungo Jerry brandishing that Stratocaster. I wonder what year that guitar was. Was that a blonde or a wood finish? Adn Socks what did you mean by his "stings had ears"? Just that they weren't cut?

And hey. I was surfing the Net, wondering what the One Hit Wonder Mungo Jerry actually looked like, and I found this: http://www.bielefeld-marketing.de/ftp/bild.../bb11_04_1a.JPG But, I don't know how to post that picture here. Does anybody here know how to do that? But ya know, I downloaded one of his other songs, and it is really pretty good, although I doubt it got as famoso as "In The Summetime". But the song that is pretty good is called "The Pushbike Song". Anywhoo, the picture that I gave the address on is of Mungo playing a Strat. In the picture, he is a black dude with way long sideburns. And hey. Have you all noticed that some "modern band" has done a re-make of "In The Summertime"? Who done it? Been hearing it on the radio, but noticed a number of changes, but I really like it! And, why would a guy call himself "Mungo"?

Hi! I got an invite to play some music from an awesome local guitarist who loves to play the blues. He's young, but knows a load of great tunes, and is the guy that played with we Chill Cats up in Haines Alaska a couple of years ago when we got down on the song "I'm Goin Down" by Jeff Beck. I have always loved that song, and I found myself coming up with a whole bunch of brand new licks on my harmonicas that I didn't know I had in me. Anyhoo, he was working at a gas station, and when I went in to pay, he said; Hey! Where have you been? I wondered if you were still in town! Let's play some music!" I told him that I thought I had sort of bombed when I played with him opne night at a Juneau club, but he said that that was ridiculous! We need you man!" And so, I got his number, and when I quit doing the "moon lighting" of hanging sheet rock after I get off work, I will look him up. That time I thought I had bombed was because I walked into this club, and he was happy to see me and invited me up to plpay one, but the key he was in didn't match any of my harps except one, and the harp was in poor condition, and I thought it sounded sub par. Well, to me, it did. And so, I surely do love to play, and this guy's guitar playing is great to listen to whether I play with him or not. He calls his band "Daddio". It's him, a bass player and a drummer, and sometimes a keyboardist. I wonder if there is any info on them on the net... Anyway, it will be fun to get back into playing, but I am not sure if I will like the bar scene....But dagnabbit it is so much fun!
