    Halloween

I am not into Halloween much, due to it's pagan origns. But we do give out candy, and the kids do the costume thing. Once though, I dressed in my three piece suit, had my hair perfectly styled like a tv preacher and even had hairspray on it, carried a brief case to the Halloween party, and when people asked who or what I was, I tiold them that I was a "Lawyer", as they drew back in horror! We are thinking though, of handing out beef jerky to the trick or treaters this year for a treat. Do a little "God Slaughterin" ya know...
  2. Geez,I am glad I was not there the night Craig ruined that song, because I like that song! And now,I still do. Sorry it was ruined for you Zena...

    The Amish

Lori, I do not know if I could forgive someone who did that to one of my children either. But amazingly, that is what God asks of us because He does know of the rot and decay that will happen within our lives if we do not forgive, but rather live in bitternsess. I am just saying that it is amazing to me to read of the way so manyof these Amish responded. It is like; "They practice what they preach! What a concept!....

    The Amish

Yup, Safari, if that molester had been dead, those sweet little girls would be enjoying a wonderful Autumn in such a lovely place on this very night or day. Harvest time is a wonderful time amongst those folks back there. But now they sleep the long sleep as their loved ones weep... :(

    The Amish

Ya know, I could never live like the Amish do, but maybe there is a lesson to be learned by them. They are very strict and appear to be very legalistic, but by George, they live their creed, do not push it on others. And here after such an horrible tragedy, they are willing to forgive this guy who hurt them so terribly badly, snuffing out the lives of four sweet little girls in but a moment. All of these little girls, were the daughters of some proud papa. This thing has saddened me so deeply. But, they do believe in Jesus, and they do believe in the doctrine of forgiveness as Jesus taught us, and they stand by it. One Amish man, as quoted in the following article says that they must forgive and not allow bitterness to have it's way, or something to that effect. It is hard to imagine after such an emotional train wreck a sentiment such as this, but they really must live their creed. I think that this is something for all of us to learn a lesson from, so that we can move on with life after TWI... Here is the article http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15120230/

Hey Cool! Happy birthday Brother! Sure love ya man, and have a few on me!!
  9. Yeah, ChasU, it really takes me back to a time when Life was not so complicated. Morning. Susch a sweet time. I guess that's why Jesus "a great while before Day, got up and prayed". Such a nice time. My job starts at 0600 in the morning, and I hear the seagulls and the eagles making their morning cries, along with the sea breezes, and waves lapping on the shore and what not. The soft "crush" of waves on the beach early in the morn is so sweet...I think that Life in the morning is so sweet because HUMANITY is not in full swing yet, and, sadly, humanity has a terrible capacity to eminate the evil and not so sweet things in Life.... Reflecting, Jonny Lingo....
  10. And ya know what blesses me about this sight? When I was a kid, my favorite time of the day was when I got up early to deliver The Washington Post newspaper. I got up at 0430 in the morning, and started delivering the papers while pulling my Radio Flyer wagon. And by 0500, the birds would start waking up, and I would hear that cacophany of sounds coming from all of the birds doing their morning wake up call. And to me, that was such a sweet sound, as the morning was drenched with dew, and the World had not quite cranked up to full speed. And, one of the things my wife laments is that since my hearing has been hurt considerably because I have worked in the enginerooms of loud and noisy ships, I don't hear those sweet sounds as when "Morning Has Broken....." And so, to hear the birds come on at this website, well, I am just blessed by it all, for the sounds are similar as to when I was a kid forty years ago. Oh man oh man, where did the time go?
  11. And for the record, that one photo posted here is of a Cape Buffalo, perhaps one of the most feared Big Game animals on the planet. They are also referred to as "Gar". But they are so strong and powerful, that only those with the biggest cojones, or the dumbest brains, will hunt them... And, it seems as if there was a whole herd of them at the waterhole, right? Yes, totally cool thread, hey Kathy?
  12. Thank you Nottawayfer and Veganxtc! Yup, I am proud of 'em fer sher.... And Vegan, you said; And I am askin; Is this true? I have never thought that Meagan looked like either me nor her Mama. We've teased her about that just to be funny. Now the boys, well, even I see some resemblances, although not near as handsome...Hah! Not really, those boys are definitely lookers, and getting better all the time. I think that that Riley with the blond hair and blue eyes will be a real "lady killer" if you can excuse the term. And then again, that Luke is the epitome of sweetness. Very kind and pure hearted. Anyway, thanks for the compliments. And now, if that one gal who asked specifically for me to post a pic of my daughter would come here.... But maybe I can send her a Private Message. Yeah, that's what I'll do....Cheers!
  13. Yeah, we are watching the zebras too!!
  14. Yeah, Meagan is a total sweet heart, and is soo cool. She is independant, has only gone out with a few guys, doesn't like lazy creeps and free loaders, and at21 years old, as a US Merchant Marine, makes $3800.00 a month after taxes! And, she loves her family and her three brothers, and plans to spend alot of time with her little brothers (Riley and Luke-14 and 10, respectively) snowboarding here this winter in Juneau. http://www.skijuneau.com/image-2.php?UID=152 Yup, she is a doll, and all of my old shipmates who still work for the Alaska Marine Highway (Alaska's state run ferry system) are treating her like gold, and her nickname is "Sunshine"... :) I call her "Nut Meagan"
  15. This is great. What I have been doing is using my binoculars, it really helps alot.
  16. And so, is the scene that you all are lookin at a waterhole? So far, I haven't seen any critturs show up, other than some bugs flyin by, and maybe some kinda bird on the water. Man, this is sooo cool!
  17. I bumped this up because I wanted to put a picture of my daughter on it, but I don't know how to. And so, now that it is back on top, I will send these pictures to a friend who knows how to do it here at the GSCafe... :)
  18. Maybe when he met you Groucho, he did think you were a girl, but then the security guys saw that you actually were a guy...
  19. When I go to this sight, all I see is a still photo of either a spotted leopard, or a cheetah. How do you make it work so that it is "Live"?

    First Kiss

Chas U? You are a girl? With that "sort of Charley" name, I have thought you were a guy! Never checked out your "profile" I guess. And now that I have mentioned "profiles", it seems that ever since the web builders changed everything around here, no one has updated their profiles. And the things I had written about me seemed to have disappeared... Anyway, thank you ChasuFarley, and I swear it, it was as I wrote it, even better! And shoot, since Miss Kasia Johnson dumped me a month later for my best friend to this day Steve Burd*n, who was my pal all through The Way, and he was even in The Way Corps. Good buddy old Steve... And so, it would have been nice if you had been Kasia Johnson ChasU. Maybe you would have stuck around for longer! "A walking saliva gland"....Too funny!
  21. Yeah Vegan, you are probably right about those sleeping pills. And like someone else mentioned the the bed itself being a problem, well, that's probably what it is for me. Among other things, I have hung literally tons and tons of sheetrock since I was twenty, and no doubt my shoulders both need that rotator cuff surgery. I mean, I cahnge position all night long due to the pain in my shoulders. Sometimes it hurts so much that I will take some Ibuprofen because it is an anti inflamatory drug, and then, I sleep better...
  22. I'm 49, and will be 50 in May. Oh geez, that sounds scary, fifty!! Ahhhh!!!!

    New Horizons

Hi there Lori! Welcome to the GS Cafe! Thanks for sharing, and glad for you to be out. My wife and I were in from 75 till my wife and I were thrown out in 1990. We refused to answer Craigs unbiblical ultimatum letter (who do you stand with? Me, or Chris Geer?) and finally Craig "defrocked me" (but was I ever really "frocked"?) and gave us the boot. My wife and I have been away from all things WAY for a long time, and I suppose I come here just because of the "enquiring minds want to know" thing. But I have learned a great deal here, and, I have also come to learn that there really was sexual abuse perpetrated by way upper level people, most notably, VPW and LCM. It was hard for me to believe at first, but I have become friends with a few gals here to whom it happened. One very good friend of mine here was forcibly and physically raped at HQ by LCM, and I was really shocked to hear her story. I had to change a lot of my pre-packaged thinking when I heard that. One of the things you will find here is two (among others) different schools of thought. Some, like me, believe that The Way started out with VPW actually trying to help people, and that at one time VPW really did love God and simply wanted to help out the world with God's Word, but then as the numbers and the power and the money grew, the power corrupted him. I tend to go along with that old adage; "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely". And so, as the Ministry grew, the willingness to compromise and take indecent liberties grew as well, until he and those surrounding VP thought themselves "above the law" of decency, above the law of God's Word, and also above the laws of this land. And then there is the other school of thought, that VP and his evil minions started the whole thing with a "sex and money farm" in mind at the very onset, and that he never ever believed in God much and that there is no way that he could even have been born again and that the whole thing was a complete and total scam from the git go. As noted, I am not of this latter school of thought, but of the former. But this of course is for you to decide, if you haven't already. I do know that I have cringed in horror at the stories of legalism and "control" that I have read here that mirror those of your own. I could not even imagine what it would have been like to be involved in what is known around here as "TWI 2", those years after Craig "regained his footing" after Chris Geer helped to blow the whole thing apart. I was part of TWI 1, and as the"out front ugliness" began to rear it's ugly head, my wife and I just had to buck up against it, which got us a quick ticket out of there, which was, just like with you, most refreshing! Once we were out into the sun light, we felt like a couple of "un-earthed moles" blinking in the springtime sunshine! And it has been wonderful ever since! And so, enjoy your time here, and if you still believe in God, Jesus Christ, and God's Word, do your best to judge what you read with God's Word as your guide. That is only my opinion of course, but opinions, although hotly contested around here at times, are not to be suppressed as they once were in The Way. And by the way, nice that you had the cojones to write that note to the trustees on how they were "hunting believers". How cruel of them, and good for you!!
  24. I usually hit the rack on weeknights by 2100 hrs. But, if the dog, or a phone call in the wee hours by some "friend" of my nineteen year old boy or twenty one year old daughter calls, I am up till it's time to go to work at 0600 hrs. If I get awakened, it is nearly impossible to get back to sleep. And so, the answer to your question is....YES. Maybe a couple of valliums at night? I swear, one of these days, I am going to designate a night and maybe take some "sleeping pills" and sleep for fourteen hours or so. Would be good for me I think... And so, does anyone have any suggestions on something like that? Lunesta? Mellatonin? What do you know?
