  1. Why, thank you Shell, Belle, and Rainbowsgirl! Yeah, that stowree about how TJenks treated me was pretty funny. Years later after both of us got the boot from The Way, he apologized to me for being so condescending, and we both laughed about it. I wonder what thread that was on? And, do you guys remember the pictures of our local black wolf that I posted on here at GSCafe awhile back? Well, I have some rather extraordinary photos of that same wolf from this past winter. He got rather intimate with a Pug dog, and someone took some great photos of that scene. I'd like to post them, but I don't know how. I could send them as attachments to someone who could post them though. And yes, RG, it's cooler up here fore shore, but, it's really nice also. Where I am though, it is rather wet. Southeast Alaska is a temperate rain forest, and therefore very wet. But then again, that's why it is so green and covered in dense verdure. And, the feeshing up here is mahvelous!
  2. Holly, have you ever seen the movie "Don Juan Demarco"? The soundtrack "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman", wil bring you to tears. That damned song REALLY makes me question whether or not I have loved as I should. I love my wife so much, yet I feel like I fall so short. I want her to feel those "fireworks" like, forever! Yet, I feel like I have not "supplied....." Somebody find that song and post it here. It will melt yer heart.....
  3. What's a "slider"? And yes, not only have I been sharing feeshing videos, I have also been feeshing again too! That cracks me up that you see the humor in that. You and Tom Tuttle. And man oh man, that T Jenks sure had a way to make me feel like fishing was a crime. But of course I reveled in my glory when VPW asked me to take him feeshing on the Gunnison one morning and skip classes with T Jenks! Haw haw!
  4. Waysider, the thread with the clip is here: http://www.greasespotcafe.com/ipb/index.php?showtopic=14502
  5. Ya know, I surely would love to go Down Under for a veezit. Maybe we could have some "poached platypus"? Or maybe some Koala stew?
  6. Sorry Roy, I don't get it....
  7. Free. That was beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes. I think those words; "Ohh! It's what you do ta me! It's what you do ta me...." are heart benders. Makes me wonder how I could be loved by my wife so after all these years. I only wish I could believe that I have loved her in the way that she has deserved. I feel as if I have fallen so so short. I pray to God that she feels as loved as this song suggests. Thanks for posting this. Seems like folks here don't want to take the time to listen to a "Youtube" vid clip. I have just posted one, but many have viewed, but not commented, and therefore no doubt did not watch the vid clip. But, well yeah, we come here to chat I spose, and not watch "movies". But, that one that you have supplied is absolutely sa-weet!
  8. No doubt it did! I have caught two around that size. A 31 and a 32 pounder on the Kenai River. Way too much fun for a human being to have! Each fish probably took around fifteen to twenty "reglar minutes" to land....
  9. Happy birthdat Bowtwi!!!
  10. Okay. I did what you said, and all I got was those lines like this: --------- Was the photo too big in that case? Hey! It worked!
  11. Yup, it's mighty fine up here. Glad you liked the video LAE :)
  12. http://newyorkminutemovie.warnerbros.com/ Ya know, I tried to post a photo here, but when I do the "insert image thing, it always tells me this: How can I overcome that? Anyway, maybe one of you all can post the image for Cowgirl...

Nice video Waysider. He seems to play lots of chords as opposed to single notes. Seems like when I take a break, I go with 12 bars of single notes, and if I get the nod from the keyboard guy to go another round, I'll play more of a chord kind of a solo. Partly to not sound repetitive, but also to catch my breath. Haha! Socks, what is "nuance" in this case?
  14. I work with this guy, John Livermore. This spring, he flew up to Yakutat, AK, and fished the famous Situk River. This guy loves to make videos which are accompanied by the rock music of his choice. The music is fairly gnarly, but, the fishing scenes are fabulous. Plus, the video will give you an idea of what the country is like here where I live. The scenes in the woods and along the river are the same as the rivers, woods, and creeks here around Juneau. Only the fishing there is better there. The fish caught in the video are known as "steelhead" which are essentially sea-run rainbow trout, and because the steelhead goes out to sea (unlike land locked rainbow), they get much bigger. And when they are hooked, they fight like crazy! Steelhead are known to be one of the toughest fighting fish that swims. The guys in the video are using fly rods, and the flies they use are either insect imitations, or, salmon egg imitations. My wife and I are planning trip to the Situk in the fall for our anniversary fishing excursion. On our honeymoon here in Southeast Alaska, we went fishing. And so, our tradition is to go fishing on each of our anniversaries. And so, we are finally going to make it up to the Situk River in pursuit of this wily pisces known as the steelhead. And so, enjoy the video! http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=livermore11
  15. Glad I got out when I did (1989) None of the stuff Rascal speaks of occurred anywhere near me in the semi-hi position I held as Way clergy. I think I would have gotten physical and kicked some arse had I been treated that way...
  16. I haven't read this whole thread, but in answer to your question Hope, I will say this: Before I came into The Way, I had no work ethic at all. I don't think I had ever even heard the words "work ethic" before. But then again, I was only eighteen at the time I got involved. And, I was a lazy arsed kid from the upper middle suburbs of the greater Washington DC Metropolitan area. Bethesda, Maryland, to be exact. And so, when I went into The Way Corps, with my eyes wide open on certain things anyway, I looked forward to "learning how to work". That was one of my main goals when I went in. And work for free I did! Lots and lots of working for The Way for free. But my attitude was "bring it on", I need to get to where I quit hating the word "work". Oh, I am sure that my zeal was taken advantage of, but for me, it was worth that time. I think one of the coolest times I had in the Corps was when I got to work on the Tent Crew with the Florida Tent Company, owned by Dave Tseusdy(sp?). Now, that was some serious work! Putting up the ROA tents, Corps tents, etc. And the paid tent crew that were not in The Way, out worked our sorry butts and worked us into the ground. Those two black guys, Wally and Pierre just laughed at us at first, and called us "number ten" workers, and there we were "Way Corps", "God Inspired Professionals", being laughed at and outworked by two Haitian guys who'd "never had The Class". And so, a few of us on that crew decided that we weren't going to be "number tens" anymore, but rather, "number ones". And as the weeks wore on, we actually achieved "number one" status from Wally and Pierre, and I even got a compliment from the Tireless Dave Tseusdy. And so, yeah I did lots of work for free, but, it has served me well in real life. Could I have learned this elsewhere? Certainly. But, I learned it in The Way, and for the good I aquired, I am thankful...

Well now, I'd certainly like to at least hear them! I love harmonicas. And, and this is just my vanity speaking: Last week, while playing a gig in Haines, Alaska, an older gentleman came up to me during our break and said; "Have you ever heard of the "Harmonicats"? And I said; "Well, yeah! Those guys were world famous back in the forties!" And he replied that he had played with them a number of times using what he described as a "bass harmonica". And, he went on to tell me that I was an excellent harmonica player, although "it is obvious that you play "diatonic harmonica" exclusively" (and he was /is right). Well now, I was flabergasted, and knew in my heart that he had been drinking some, and that he was waxing nostalgic. But, immediately, I responded in true "Waynes World" style by going "I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!" And he laughed and said that no, your style is different than mine, and I am just saying that the "sweet and hard sound of your harps are really nice, takes me back". And then I offered him one of my harps and asked him to play. And play he did! Very nice renditions of "Put A Yellow Ribbon On The Old Oak Tree", and the "William Tell Overture" (Awesome!), and other older more "fortiesh/fiftiesh" type songs. He even got a tear in his eyes as he played. Broke me up. And so, we had a fine moment there at the Haines, Alaska American Legion Bar under the Midnight Sun (even though we were inside). I invited him up to play, but for some reason, he declined. But lemmee tell ya, when I got home, I downloaded some "Harmonicats" music and was BLOWN AWAY! William Tell Overture! Wow. Amazing. Try it, you'll like it! I, for the life of me can't imagine having chops that fast! Wow! I mean, just when you might think that you are playing pretty well, you find that the sky is the limit! There is always some one who has takin it so much farther than you even know. And in this case, a bunch of well disciplined and talented kids from the Forties. Too cool it was, and I am so blessed by this last weekend's interesting turn of events...
  18. I never did get any tattoos. There is a verse in the Old Testament somewhere that explicity tell s the believers during that time not to engrave any images on their skin. And so, even though that may not apply these days, I still have a problem with the idea. But that is just me, and I do not judge. But if I was going to do it, I would have a large ships anchor on my right bicep. Then, I would have the hook of one end of the anchor sunk into the pages of a big open book that would clearly be the Bible. Then, there would be salt crystals sprinkling down from above signifying the salt covenant that I took the day I was married and the day I was ordained, and, it would also be significant that I have been "salty" since the day I first went to sea when I was sixteen. The anchor and the Bible would also have that double meaning thing going on. The problem is, that verse in the O.T. is so clear, it would seem to be a very contradictory statement! And so, I have none. Now, the cutest tattoo I ever saw was when I was on my interim year in Fargo ND. I was over at this gals house who seemed to want more than just coming to fellowship. And somehow, the subject of tattoos came up. I think she asked me if I had any. And so, she tells me that she had a tattoo, and could I "guess where it is"? She asked it in a mischievous manner, and so I knew that it was in some risque place. And so, I said; "On the cheek of your butt?" "No" she said. And so I played along and said; "On one of your breasts"? And once again; "No". And so I said; "I give up. Where is it?" And so she stands up, slowly unzips the fly of her blue jeans, pulls the front of her panties half down, and there peeking just over the hairline of her...ahem....was the cutest little teddy bear I ever saw! I was pretty shocked, but the cuteness of that teddy bear made me smile! And then she asks; "Do you like it?" And I told her; "Why yes, it is beautiful!" And she asked; "Whats beautiful?" And I blurted; "Well, the teddy bear of course!" Oh, the double entendres were so thick you could have cut the air with a knife! And needless to say, it could have been "on" from that moment on, but without verbally expressing it, I declined the "offer", and got myself outa there! Pretty funny, that...
  19. And, I remember that when they didn't win, it was "because of the devil" that a "punk rock country western" band won. It's a spiritual battle man!
  20. Hey DMiller, I was at that concert too! I had been in Fargo, ND that year on my interim year. If I am not mistaken, wasn't there a big protest there by trinitarian Lutherans and such? I remember seeing this one old hippy chick with a poster with a picture of Adolph Hitler on one side, and a picture of VPW on the other. And the caption read: "Adolph Hitler/Victor Paul Wierwille: Nazi Germany all over again?" I remember talking to the woman and asking her if she were a trinitarian or a Lutheran, and she replied that she was an atheist, and really didn't know much aboput The Way or it's doctrine. She told me that she was a "professional protester" and went to as many rallies as possible, and in this case was being paid by a local Lutheran church. And so, I assured her that VPW was not "bringing back the Third Riech". And she smiled and said that she was glad to hear it. But then, she went right back in to "protesting" and shouting some slogan at we mystified Wayfers. It was pretty funny, really...
  21. Because it was a great teaching..."The fear of man bringeth a snare (that's in the absolute), but whoso putteth his trust in the Lords shall be safe" (also in the absolute). Proverbs 29:25
