So, Warren Buffet is a Nebraskan?

Here is a present for all you atheists out there. I am sure you will enjoy it. Really. Just give it a click. No, it's not monkeys, I promise. I'd like to make some amends with those whom I have offended, and that means you too Cowgirl. I apologize. You seem to be a very nice lady. And so, I think you all might like this. Enjoy your thread. It's yours and you should be able to enjoy your decisions in this free country of ours... Here ya go:

I wish you well Seth, and, I think you used to be AeroSeth? I took it to mean that you like Aerosmith? Well, those guys may well be one of my favorite bands, and I liked it that you liked them enough to incorporate their name into your original handle. Cool name it was. Take care and Godspeed.
-
Cowgirl, why don't you tell us another story of your naked body, skinny dipping in the evening twilight? But, I do apologize for using that word folks. Inappropriate fer sher. But, one of the things that does accompany the Humanist view is that one doesn't have to believe in a God or His precepts, as long as one "does good" in this world and doesn't "do bad" And if one lives this way, one can do what one wants, which also includes partying and having multiple relations with the opposite or even same sex. Poor way to illustrate that though. Sorry.
-
Well then, maybe you are right there Oakspear! One could, without conscience, go out and get all of the ******** (language edited) one wanted! One could partay big time and as long as no one got hurt by it, it would be okay! Wow! Why didn't I think of that! You are right, it's not that bleak after all! But.....I could never go there, because I still believe in the Invisible Sky Giant, and I think that His precepts are right on with Life...
-
Wow. Bummer. You are right. Tha does sound pretty bleak. Oh well, good luck!

I see no problem with that. I remember that thing VP said, and even though I thought it clever at the time, I also felt that it wasn't accurate with what I'd always believed about atheists, that simply put, they didn't believe in God. I remember in fifth grade meeting my first atheist. His name was/is Martin Collier. Actually, I'd known him since kindygarden, but one day, when talking with him he told me that he was an atheist. I asked him what that was, and he said that he didn't believe in God. I was really surprised by that! I had never heard the term, and I thought everyone believed in God. And so, I was begining to learn a few things about this old world. Martin and I are still friiends. Over the net, I still tease him about how he would call my house once in awhile back in high school and ask; "Jonny, do you have any pot?" And I would almost always say; "Yes Martin, I do". And he would say; "Would you like to come over to my house and get me high"? Very matter of fact and unabashed about it. And I would usually say; "Sure Martin, I'll be right over". And we'd get high and listen to Todd Rundgren...

And hey Seth! Now you can say with a sage nod amongst your esteemed colleagues that "I don't talk to "sky giants" any more". I think that P-Mosh used that term one time. At least I think it was Mr. P-Mosh. Anyway, cracked me up! A whole brave new world awaits you...

I have in fact "lit them" before. A strange experience...

Thanks Bullwinkl. Kinda funny that. But, there was no fart scene there. The Blazing Saddles scene had a bunch of guys around the fire farting it up. And so, was "Bad Bob" Alex Karras who played Mungo in Blz Sadddles? I wouldn't think so, because "Mungo" was huge! He (Alex Karras) was actually a Washington Redskin, if I am not mistaken...
-
WW, what movie was that from? Blazing Saddles?

I know this big guy, who ate a big pie, and then heaved it up all over the floor. He said with a grin, as he wiped off his chin, I'll go down to Texas for more!

Way ta go Polar Bear! We have a house in a smaller town in Alaska that we are going to sell. Being a landlord is a hassle fer sher. Actually, we hate to let it go, because of it's mountainside/ocean view location, but we know that we'd not want to live there again, so, since there is huge interest in it and our equity is large, it will help us all the more with our dream home that we are going to build here. Mortage free eh? You live in Canada, right? Or is that incorrect? Anyhoo, congrats Brother!

Aye lad! I'd best bring me harpoon!

Oh CID, you are just being thick headed. As Thick, As A Brick..... And when I said "Yes." I was just being obstinate. But, Rascal, you did say "Dwelling" on the past. Which of course can be taken any number of ways. I could dwell on how happy I was to catch that 19 pound King salmon on my fly rod two days ago, and that would be fine and dandy. I am still doing it. :) Or, I could be like Robin Williams in the movie "The Best Of Times" with Kurt Russell where he (Robin Williams) missed the touchdown pass in the State Final game, and then dwell on it for twenty years, three times weekly reviewing the game film where the ball danced on his finger tips as he plowed across the muddy field for twenty yards towards the end zone but finally dropped it as he crossed the line. Yeah, funny movie! Ya gotta watch it if you haven't. And, Robin Williams was consumed with his failure to catch that ball. He even visited a prostitute from time to time, but not for sex. Only so that he could talk with her about That Game and how he alone had brought shame and defeat to his entire town. OMG that was funny... And so, I guess there is "dwelling on positive issues" and "dwelling on negative issues". I choose to dwell on positive things of the past from time to time, because it entertains me in a good way. I also dwell on positive lessons learned, to keep them fresh in my mind for current or future use. I try not to "pine" for those things to happen again if "it isn't happening now". Yeah, I like to think back on the time when my best friend Steve and I hung sheetrock in a huge custom home for twenty seven hours straight (with coffee, donuts and smoke breaks in between of course) in order to keep our word to the builder on a deadline that turned out to be unrealistic. Ah, but we kept our WORD, and it was so fine. We even ended up being that General Contractor's new Drywall Subcontractor because we had done such an amazing job. He had thought that to do the whole thing in the alotted time, that I would hire at least three more guys. But instead, my Partner and I kicked it out in grand fashion. One for the books no doubt. I ought to write that one out for my kids and their kids. Anyway, I certainly do NOT pine for a re-run of that scenario! But I am proud of things like that, and have no problem looking back on it. But other things I do NOT want to look back on. Once, on ice and snow, I slipped and fell next to an open 87 foot deep missile silo I was working at (but didn't fall in but came close), and even though I had my harness and safety lanyard clipped on to a "D" ring, I shudder every time I think about it. Because there were sometimes I wasn't clipped in because I was in the process of walking up to clip myself in. And, when I think about it, it spooks me bad. And as soon as I begin to think about it, I change my mind and think about something else. I just don't want to go there. And that is the way I try to deal with negative things that happened in The Way. I can only move forward. I have already looked back, reviewed, and now it's over. And that's me. Maybe not some of you, but that's me. And so, I am not trying to convince anyone or everyone here to do as I believe. That would be your own business of course. I submit to you that it is a good idea and worth trying, but we all have our own time tables, and levels of experiences. But ultimately, whenever it is right for you, I think that dumping the past when it comes to negs is the only way to go. That's my opinion and I'm stickin' to it! :) Yes Rascal, I read T-Bone's post back on that other thread, as well as here.

Well now Waysider, We were Hongry! We didn't have time to soak 'em overnight! I'd learned that from that from one of my WOW cousins (some one in a different branch in Los Angeles), and she warned me, but.....We couldn't wait! We were starving! And even though once our hunger was satiated, I still never soaked 'em. I just boiled the crap out of 'em until they were nice and tasty. And later, we added chicken, beef, and pork, and man oh man, it's still somethin' I love to this day... Those Meskins know how to eat good food!
-
I remember a meal that we cooked as WOWs out of Dorothy Owens's cook book. It was called "Cheaped Chicken".I can't remember how it was done, but when we finished it, it was supposed to be "cheaped" by then. I do remember that it was good though, because we were always hongry! Another meal I remember that almost killed our WOW family was pinto beans. I had met a Mexican guy by the name of Tomas Montanya. This was in South Central LA. He invited me to his house, which was very very small, and there were about seven of his brothers, sisters, and cousins living there together. Thomas lived in the garage on a couch. Anyway, when I was introduced, his sister, Graciella, went into the kitchen, scopped out a bowl of pinto beans that had been cooked with pork, jalapenos, and some other delicious spices and handed it to me. Then she warmed up about five corn tortillas for me and handed me those wrapped in two paper towels to keep them warm. And, I gobbled it all within a short period of time. Oh man! It was better than good! It was the food of the gods! I asked them what kind of beans they were, and later, Thomas showed me at the grocery store what to guy. And so, for very cheap, I bought about eight pounds of dry pinto beans, a stack of corn tortillas, some jalapenos, and took it all home to the girls and the other guy in our WOW family. I didn't have enough $ for any meat though. And when I went in the door, and pronounced that "our starvation problems are over! We have Beans! Beans and tortillas!" And so, I commenced to cookin'. And when they were close to ready (and this was a large pot of them), our mouths were watering. And when it was done, we feasted! It was grand! God had saved us with pinto beans! About two hours later, the farts started in. And it was bad. They all (the girls in particular) weren't too happy about the side effects, but I told them to relax, and that if we would just stick with it and eat them very regularly, we would be like Thomas's family who didn't seem to fart at all. And so, we ate them steadily for about a week. And it was bad man, bad! But we did have lots of laughs, farting copiuosly and not having inhibitions about it, waiting for that time when we would no longer have gas and that all would subside. But, that time never came. It just got worse and worse. And the girls got madder at me. And our BC, a sixth corps gal named Nancj Jo came by once and had to go immediately back outside for air. And then she told us that maybe we had better stop "eatin them beans" or God would never send anyone to our fellowship! Gosh you guys!" And we all laughed, and it was funny. But we did cut back on them pinto beans. The reason they were so good you see, is because when you mush 'em up a bit after they are done, there forms a real nice GRAVY that really is awesome. Beans and Gravy anyone?

This evening, my wife and I are going to the same place. And if we get a nice bright one or two, we'll keep them for the grill and the smoker. That'll be nice... And, Hi Free! How you been? Fine I hope. Take care you

Oh, a comic strip guy. Okay. I may have seen that little guy before, but I rarely read comics in the papers. The only comic strip I have ever liked is the Far Side guy. Now that guy makes me laugh! But yes, now that you have posted the comic strip, I see that it IS witty and cool. I guess fine minds think in a similar manner?

Thanks Nottawayfer. I do know the gal well enough though, that I knew it wouldn't be a problem. And, I think women love it when they are thought of as lovely, for, they really are, as God has made them...
