Catcup, Unless my CRS is as bad as yours, LCM taught in his remake of CFS that premarital sex was not discussed by God. Literally, he had that God "was silent" on the issue. Having said that, I will see if the silly-bs is still around. Not sure if that quote was in there but it was said in his usually delicate manner. As close as I can remember: "What if that guys still isn't married when he's 28?! What's he gonna [sic] do with that thing between his legs?!"

OM, Whether one person is more tolerant of a narcissist or not does not change the behavior. Also, your use of the word "victim" here could be taken two ways, IMO. The first is the traditional meaning that you were affected by the narcissist and doesn't imply anything about your strength or desire to resist. The second might imply that you are absolving yourself of any responsbility. (Pity me, I'm just a victim) How do you mean someone is a "victim?" Even a strong-willed person who takes complete responsbility for themselves could be hurt by this type of person for many reasons: 1. They could affect a family member or loved one. 2. I could be deceived by a different public persona. 3. Thoughts, ideas, etc. could be learned over time but not easily recognized or discarded after the fact.

Apparently, this wasn't limited to the 6-10th corps. I got the same logic from a 14th corps lady as well. Apparently, she really wanted to "bless me." (Said as he rolls his eyes...) Was this typical of the corps? Public doctrine versus private behavior?

Let sleeping dogs lie or lying dogs sleep? ;-)

Exactly which woman would look good in a cone bra wiggling on a pole?!

It was absolutely taught by the wc in our area to AC grads and TCs. The logic started with LCM focusing on not being equally yoked. In typical fashion, the whole doctrine ran amok to the point where you were expected to only be talking to people who you thought would sign up for "the class." It was almost like you were harvesting people. Different stages of being ripe, just waiting to pluck them. If it was too much work, move on. Every person was shown as a potential registrant, nothing more. I don't think this was entirely new though. Even during PFAL days, I saw flirting women, etc. I had a female friend who went WOW and was sent to C?with 3 other "hot babes" (their term, not mine) to a town outside a military base. They even joked about "moving the Word with our skirts." That was in the 80s during VP's reign. Is abuse the right word though? Choosing not to be my friend is bad. Being one with a hidden agenda is worse. But are you doing it with the purpose of harming me? Dictionary definition of abuse: Abuse occurs when someone does not treat a person with dignity and violates their human or civil rights ยป Abuse can be physical, emotional, sexual, verbal, or financial. Maybe it is. I'll leave it to smarter people than me.

OMG, Bless notes! The name starts with "B" and ends with "s." Says it all. At my last class with TWI, I saw people actually writing rough drafts frantically before doing the "final" copy. (Said as he rolls his eyes) Radar, I had forgotten about that book. Nothing but pages of alleged comments made by wayfers about their own class. "It changed my life." "I"m now able to live life as more than a conquerer becuase..." Yawn. Is there such a thing as word addiction? It was a never ending push to give more dramatic praise than the last person. Yet another stupid idea floating down the TWI river.

"Ron Popeil's "Real Hair" Spray for Men - check" ROTFLMAO! Hahahahahahah Ole Ron, just doing his "part" to move the Word? Hmm... the word "Pope" appears in his name. Coincidence? ;-)

Wasway quote: "What ever happened to "Sing it" Dave???" The last I had heard was he was shipped off to be a BC somewhere, didn't make it (at least in there eyes) and was dropped from the wc. I heard they brought him back for a performance of some type. (Not like there was a lot of wayprod talent there to choose from) This is a couple of years ago though. Sorry I am not more current. Maybe some of the innies know more. Maybe he's back? Oh, wait, if he's not wc, he can't perform, yes? Or did they drop that rule too?

Shaz, No way! (oops, bad pun) You did so write this person. ;-) OMG, that fits one or two people I know to a tee!

I once skimmed through Mrs. VP's book on her hubby. The encounters listed in there didn't exactly show a lifelong bond between VP and the other folks. More like a one-time meeting. We do have some folks who were around HQ a long time. Could they provide insight into whether or not people like Stiles actually came to there? Or even Billy Graham. I was told more than once that VPW and Graham knew each other in their early years but "Billy Graham sold out because he wanted a big ministry." Really, that was said at twig more than once.

HaHaHaHaHa... The sphinx. Craig acted as if his teaching on it was the first time it was ever heard. The "oohs" and "ahhhs" from the die-hard grads could be heard around the room. It's in Bullinger's book "Witness of the Stars" for crying out loud! I showed it to the class coordinator. He couldn't change the subject fast enough. :-)

Maybe TWI likes to cycle through people so there's no living history of what really happens? JT

WAP was either written for old grads or just done by someone who didn't think it through very well. There are references to PFAL material such as greek translations but no explanation of the background. It was common to have new students asking for explanations of numerous points. "Is he reading from a Greek Bible? Is he Greek?" Poor folks! He just started introducing Greek and Hebrew words as if everyone knew why. My take: it was just terrible. Disorganized and poorly done. It also seemed as if they had to do a lot of editing to make it flow even a little. Disjointed camera angles, interrupted sentences, etc. At least VPW had done his class a bunch of times before filming it. LCM seemed like he was winging it at least part of the time. Or maybe he had a script and just kept going off on tangents? Regardless of your view of VPW, at least he had practiced.

Not long before I bailed, we were invited to take a live version of the class. Apparently, now (or at least then) the wc sit there and read the silly-bus to you! OMG, how much fun that would be! Zzz.... That is what passes for a "live" class now in TWI.

Insurgent, Maybe they can perform an exorcism? ;-)

Juan, Wasn't it more than a compliment? Something like "if you're right, this could change theology?" Or some other dramatic statement? JT

CC, After sitting throught the "Eve" section the first time, a large number of grads approached the wc running the class out of confusion. No one got it. After being told to work it, we still didn't see it. Fast forward to first class with new people: same effect. Blank stares. Sadly, w whole bunch of segments left new students confused. Even the wc would admit privately that they still didn't see the explanation about Eve fitting. Public faces, as always, were different.

"Wiener Dogmatics!" Oooooh that's bad. Love it! Was it Barth he mentioned in PFAL as "The greatest theologian of all Europe?" Hope I got that quote right.

OM, Others may criticize you but I'd like to have more friends like you. Quick to communicate and slow to judge. Proverbs 14:29 (Amplified) He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who is hasty of spirit exposes and exults his folly. I remember those years all too well. There was a lot of hastiness and accusations on both sides. The end result was a lot of folly and very little time for ministering to those who needed God's love and deliverance. JT

Raf, Did you know the original thread is in aramaic? It's true. The tranliteration is below: "He-lie, She-lie, lame-o shameful bs-er is-thay." And they says GS isn't a research ministry? Ha! ;-)

Rascal, Do you mean on grounds or just nearby? Also, I take it whatever she posted gave away who she was? Also, have they accessed Paw's records before or do they just try to guess who the posters are?

Tom, Got to admit, "wahmbulance" still makes me laugh!

Chas, I KNEW it! For some reason, I was sure they'd keep something that valuable.

Quote: "I expect godly, loving, honest obedience and support according to God's Word and nothing beyond that." If this was what they really thought and did, I probably would have stuck around and been in the corps right now. Too bad he left out so much of what else was required. Keep notes on naysayers, shun people who don't measure up, tolerate horrible, screaming tantrums (by wc teachers) in family settings and wild west justice. Another example of saying one thing while leaving out so many other unstated demands.
