  1. If he's done half of what's written, I hope he's working on his own life. Just call me a wishful thinker. JT
  2. Is that what happened to the 7 daughters of Sceva? JT
  3. Insurgent, What!? You're kidding, right? JT
  4. ------------------------ 3 TWIg same thing every week same sitting arraingement same song, same drival ___________________________ Not sure when you left but in the 90s you had to have twig during the week and teach what was taught on the teaching tape of the week. So...if you had a phone hookup on Sunday, guess what you heard ALL OVER AGAIN?! Painful!
  5. Templelady, I thought the same thing. Our limb was kind of small (physical and people count). As there were not any large number of new people in about 10 years, did we REALLY need name tags? I forgot mine once and got taken aside for a "talk" about keeping protocol. Which was great because I was on a set up crew and had to run like mad in a suit to do my part after. Hot summer day, suit and carrying heavy items. Finish that just in time to drop into a hard, metal chair. Then paste on the "happy Wayfer" face and think about what to make for dinner. Yawn... JT
  6. Gee, Tom, even the description was excrutiating! You get my vote for first place. I'll throw in having to write Thank You cards for visiting clergy beforehand. How can you write an honest note about what "blessed you" before the event took place? JT
  7. I once asked my LC why we wore AC nametags instead of the "white sticker and black magic marker" kind that newbies wore. "Why, it inspires them to get to the AC so they can have their own." ???? No kidding. True story. Wonder if you can buy TWI nametags on E-bay? It would be cheaper than taking all the classes. Heeheeheehee JT
  8. Exie made the suggestion to do a top 10 list in the "Phone Hookup Shenanigans" thread. Now we want to do what's "Best" so please list 'em here. My vote: #10 Stuck watching an entire video of a TWI service including the songs at the beginning. For good measure, I'll throw in clapping for a RECORDING of a rev walking on stage! A freakin' recording! Ugh.
  9. Ex, TWI3 is nicer than TWI2. Personally, I'm waiting for the movie. ;-) JT
  10. Mocha, Thanks for the info. I have asked about that supposed healing a couple of times here. It was repeated many times around the TWI rumor mill. JT
  11. Rascal, Dumb question. Were you referring to Mrs. W or her mother? That's quite a statement! JT
  12. Was there any reason given publicly for moving LCM into the chalet instead of it's original purpose? JT
  13. Radar, Oldies and I have certainly had our go-arounds. I guess I'm kind of lost too though. My impression was that he was making a general comment about book values. It didn't seem to be in any way a defense of TWI-1 Oldies, Am I correct? JT
  14. Gee, what a surprise. I looked for Craiggers book and it's not there! Guess there's not much demand for his scholarly accomplishments. ;-)
  15. Oldies, After the purges of the early 90s, TWI put their logo on EVERYTHING to make it harder for offshoots to sell their merchandise. They also came up with all "new" versions of VPW's books. Nothing big, really. Different font and their logo on the cover. May have made some minor edits. Not sure. Great way to sell the same books all over again. JT
  16. Pirate, It was a sign from Gawd! ;-) Has anyone listed corpse and wow assignments as being done by revelation?
  17. WW, I agree. Just wondering if anyone had access to public records in that area. JT
  18. WW, I doubt eliminating any alcohol from Way meetings was about being respectable. If my brain isn't too worn out, it was about lawsuits. Remember in the 90s the lawsuits against bars sending drunks onto the roads? That was the time that the edict came down about "no alcohol" at TWI functions. They were afraid of the liability. As always, follow the money. JT
  19. WW, It was a REQUIREMENT in our branch to use our own money and gas to get money orders for other's cash if you were a tc. This was late 90s. Also, if we usually got cash, we would get a phone call to see who was giving it. JT
  20. Highway, I helped with the first couple WAP classes that ran and that happened every time. People got lost by session or day 1. (Whatever they called it.) It is my opinion that a lot of wayfers have been going through the motions for years. The classes are just more of the same. Not really anything to get excited over. Boring... Each teen that took it said the same thing. "It was nice." Said while mom and dad were watching. Otherwise, they found every excuse in the world to not retake it. Many parents weren't far behind. And when TWI went to the "live" classes... THis was the "we'll read the syllabus to you and pretend we're teaching" approach. Ugh! They actually tried to play it off as an "idea" they wanted to try. As if it was the first class taught by a human ever. Had nothing to do with the ejected ejaculator being gone. Of course not! Sigh... Question. If someone reading a syllabus to me is a "live" class, is the videotape version a "dead" class? ;-) JT
  21. Tom, B. Jess, Moynihan, Mal George, and Rosie are still in. (As far as I know) Any others? ------------------------------------ Walter J. Cummins Lonnell E. Johnson Bo Reahard Bernita Jess John Crouch Earl Burton Gary R. Curtis L. Craig Martindale Robert C. Moynihan Ross Tracy Malvin L. George Thomas Jenkinson Rosalie F. Rivenbark John A. Lynn Robert F. Winegarner Ralph A. Dubofsky Elena S. Whiteside Beth Lowder Frederick Winegarner Vince Finnegan David C. Craley
  22. Diazbro, Wow, that is lame. I once had someone get their tax refund check in time to register for a class. That was somehow God's master plan unfolding as well. Did Martindale ever explain in his book why TWI few, if any, miracles like those in Acts?
  23. They were willing to let local people near HQ do good deeds on occasion but it was always touted by TWI. Free PR. They won't even pay for that. :-(
