  1. It would probably be easier to just approach them with a video camera. Or see if a local television news crew might like to stop by and see why they're following you.
  2. I agree with several things he said. No flames here.
  3. PJ, Will there be a photo montage posted? A shot of the WayGB trying to cover up your lense would have made for a very dramatic cover page. :-) Now if we could only get them to wear dark glasses when they trail you...
  4. UH, It's possible. I lasted through the tail end of POP, the early 90s ranting by LCM and even the lawsuits. Even mushrooms can get tired of suffering after a while. There were a LOT of people when I left that were just going through the motions. No real growth at all. If it weren't for the kids of the remaining old grads turning 12, a lot of classes wouldn't have run. When the current generation dies off? It will be even smaller than it is now. Maybe that's how we calculate the end?
  5. Maybe the weenie roast should be held in Gunnison? That would REALLY drive them crazy!
  6. Mr. H, LOL! VERY good. :-) Fellow cast mates: I. Made Marion - Wife of Moginhood Little (Minded) John - Head of research The Sheriff of Nottinpants - Head of Safety Patrol More to come...
  7. No, not really. Too bad. I was kind of hoping for more. Oops, that describes much of my TWI experience.
  8. Satori, Doesn't seem like he's coming back. :-( JT
  9. Hooner, I believe I still have a copy. If I do, you can have it. I'll see if I can find it. Are you willing to pay for shipping? JT
  10. I had heard 2nd hand that it was due to their active support for a political candidate.
  11. Even if they did want to do a new class, who would do it? It's always the MOG speaking (or screaming) from the throne. Rosie would be the most boring torture any new student could face. "Well, hi y'all and welcome to this class on Power for, oops the Way of, I mean our new class..." Total time to say that? 10 minutes at least. At least Craig was entertaining if you had no feelings for the poor, horrified souls watching him rant for the first time.
  12. For the innies who lurk here: Is DM mentioned at all? Does she teach on Sunday's etc.? Or is she pretty much out of view?
  13. johniam, My opinion is that he would be treated well. Some would probably say "hey how about answering me on the other post" or something not quite as nice. If he kept posting, it would probably go away and actually turn into a conversation at some point. A couple of folks here (Mike, Oldies) get a lot of grief for their views but I haven't heard anyone shred them just for showing up. Maybe I'm being naive but I think most people here are pretty decent. Who knows what a little effort on JLs part might do?
  14. Forgot about the mass disposals. Guess it would be tough to approach a year lease when you never knew who was left. Sigh...
  15. WB, I believe the one by ECU was sold in the 90s. My original question was more about the informal situations where TWIers just moved in together to share a home. Forgot about the TWI-owned places.
  16. Gracious Heavenly Father I just thank you for just sending your son and for just... and for just... and for just... After these painful prayers, the teachings were actually a relief at times. At least I knew it was closer to being over. Hey, I found a positive here. ;-)
  17. Steve, Could you elaborate on either topic? The circular nature of the argument for dispensationalism or evolution? JT
  18. When I first started going to twig, they were a pretty common idea. (Mid 80s) They seem to have been completely eliminated by the 90s. Were they? If so, was this an official (as official as TWI would get) policy or did they just die off by themselves? Or are they still done in TWI-land?
  19. If you don't think too hard and live for emotional highs, it is probably a great place to be. There was for me early on. I learned how to focus on things more by applying what was taught about the law of believing. Some here have heartburn with the topic and that's ok with me. What I got out of it though was a lot more success in life. I also saw folks genuinely caring for each other and going out of their way for each other. I know now that some had ulterior motives but that happens elsewhere too. NOW... the 90s? Not so much. If I had left after my first year, I would probably still think the Way was a great place. The last 10 were bad to worse to hell. My only drives ever to a RC's house was either to work or hear a teaching that was the same as the tape I just bought. It would be safe to say that I got NOTHING out of TWI (despite still giving a lot) in my last 4 years. Imagine that! 4 f**king years! Arrgghhh... Ok, I'm done now. :-) I am very convinced that the change was directly influenced by the requirement that you fellowships were no longer given any latitude in what was taught. Each week HAD to have one teaching that was a rehash of the last tape and another that was a rehash of a WayRag article. NO time to teach anything you had worked at all. Boringgggggg.... ZZZzzz...
  20. Mr M, Did you see them in difficult situations? Leading a group is a skill but helping others through life's hard spots is an art. Just curious. JT
  21. Darrell, Will there be more in this thread or another? JT
  22. The man sure does generate a variety of responses.
