  1. (Singing...) I can see clearly now My brain is gone...
  2. I can't even SEE the original past from here! Although, if we get to talk about Rascal and Radar's bu*ts then I'm ok with it. LOL!
  3. Updated TWI slogans and classes: The Decade of Victimry The Prevaricating Word The Way is Abusive and Petty The Foundationless Class The Underwhelming Class The Advanceless Class
  4. Oh, yeah, Every time someone goes into offensive mode when the Bible comes up. When any christian uses the term "believer." (Have heard it a few times)
  5. Sky, Not sure if he was there or not. When did he bail? JT
  6. That used to be the We Give You The Business weekend. The last one (I think) was a rehash, oh, excuse me, reteaching, of the HS book, blue book and a couple of others. It was after Craiggers got the boot. Obviously a last minute cast change but they tried to pretend it was the plan all along. Yeah, right.
  7. Romans 13 is THE brownie chapter! "Higher" powers? Doncha seeeee it peeeeeple? 1: Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no brownie but of God: the brownies that be are ordained of God. 2: Whosoever therefore resisteth the brownies, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves low fat yogurt. 3: For brownies are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the brownies? do that which is good, and thou shalt have more of the same: 4: For he is the brownie of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the brownie in vain: for it is the brownies of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5: Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for eating sake. 6: For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's brownies, attending continually upon this very thing. 7: Render therefore to all their brownies: brownies to whom tribute is due; brownies to whom custom; brownies to whom fear; brownies to whom honour. 8: Owe no man any anything but brownies, love one another: for he that loveth another hath filled the stomach. 9: For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself by sharing brownies. 10: brownie worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore brownies are the fulfilling of the law. 11: And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to open the oven: for now is our brownie nearer than when we believed. 12: The brownies are far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the brownies of light. 13: Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. 14: But put ye on the brownies of the Lord Jesus Christ, and make provision for the brownies, to fulfill the lusts thereof.
  8. I think it's great that no one has attacked RG personally AND no one has tried to imply that he somehow shared in the blame for any hurt he suffered. :-) JT
  9. First, on what would Jesus do: How should I know?! How about what would Research Geek do? No idea again. Mind reading is not my specialty. I think it is the height of arrogance to say that we know the heart of any man and the mind of Jesus Christ in any situation other than our own to be able to say with any certainty. It's just speculation. And my forgiveness won't be based on a wild a** guess. Second, there doesn't seem to be this Jesus the Forgiver character in my Bible who only spent his days yelling "forgive everyone you know." He did talk about forgiveness but a lot more. If life was so one dimensional and simple then why didn't God just forgive us? Why did his son have to die? If I just have to say "it's ok, I forgive you", why couldn't the creator of the Heavens and the Universe be that powerful? He expected something but we shouldn't? That seems more like feel good, new age thinking than God's perspective to me. Jesus expected things of people too. There are folks I have forgiven from TWI and I have been forgiven by others. Then I forget about it and move on. However, there are some who would be impossible to forgive as I do not know them any more and have no idea who they are today. For all I know, they could still be preying on unsuspecting victims. I have dealt with that reality and moved on. If I saw people who hurt me again? Well, I have. I talked to them and we worked it out in a two cases. In the others? Either "you're possessed" because I won't go back to TWI or ignored. Also, I have made the effort to reach out to people I feel like I could have treated better and made amends. And my wrongs were nowhere near what Loy and his posse did. For the laundry list of jerks I met in TWI? Well, my phone is listed and it isn't ringing. Research Geek, this is a great question. Even though I think it is unreasonable to just pass out mindless pardons, when we did get to genuine forgiveness, it was so healing. And in two cases, real friendships were restored. THAT, in my opinion, is the real thing and what God was after in the first place. JT
  10. As a somewhat recently departed Wayfer, I can attest to Catcup's comments on the importance of accuracy. One thing that kept me around early on was seeing one critic after another launch attacks that were full of errors. It made for a convincing "gee, if they would only see who we really are" argument. There is a good chance I might still be in TWI if it weren't for this site. The first hand accounts from numerous folks here were invaluable. If I had seen criticisms that seemed to be erroneous or from someone who didn't have his/her facts straight, I might have just dismissed GS like all the rest. JT
  11. Catcup, Very sad. So leasing a car is debt too now? At one point, it wasn't because it was for business. That is actually what I was told. One of my really annoying questions to them was about credit cards. I use it and am therefore am in debt until the payment is made. The ruling was made that if you pay no interest, it isn't debt. (Pay off in full by the end of the month) So... drum roll please... How about 0% financing on a car?! No way! It's a bribe, donchaknewwww. You'll be a slothful spot by 11:45 or something like that. No consistency whatsoever. JT
  12. One of several things that makes me sad about Exie being pushed to accept abusive people is that it shows there is still a market for TWI. It doesn't appear that the planet has run out of folks willing to justify/ignore hurting others to satisfy themselves. JT
  13. Eagle, When were you taught those things and by whom? I have no memory of that ever being taught in TWI. It almost sounds as if you are extrapolating ideas from what they taught. Can you provide details on where you heard it? JT
  14. Abi, GW reminds you of LCM?! I take it you are a democrat that doesn't like him?
  15. Eagle, Over 15 years in TWI. I don't believe them ever teaching that the holy spirit one had could be controlled by devil spirits. Multiple Advanced Classes (VPs and LCMs) DTA, DWA, etc. Never heard that. You may want to check your references. JT
  16. This is probably bad but I haven't worried about any of it. My family and our transition into a non-Wayfer life seemed way more important. I think it's a good question though. I suppose I still do believe them as they have not been disproven to me. JT
  17. Imbus, I think they meant to say "all mine, all the time." It is hard to hear over a large crowd, after all. ;)--> JT
  18. Catcup, Is the house the issue or a mortgage? JT
  19. See if these sound familiar: "People simply disappeared, always during the night. Your name was removed from the registers, every record of everything you had ever done was wiped out, your one-time existence was denied and then forgotten. You were abolished, annihilated: vaporized was the usual word." "If the party could thrust its hand into the past and say this or that even, it never happened—that, surely, was more terrifying than mere torture and death." "And if all others accepted the lie which the party imposed—if all records told the same tale—then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.'" "Day by day and almost minute by minute the past was brought up to date. In this way every prediction made by the Party could be shown by documentary evidence to have been correct; nor was any item of news, or any expression of opinion, which conflicted with the needs of the moment, ever allowed to remain on record. All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary." Previous posts about TWI-2? Nope, they are from from George Orwell's 1984. Unfortunately, the word "party" kind of gives it away. Catcup, There never was an overemphasis on two-by-two. That is a lie from our enemies who are fronts for the adversary. We simply wanted to build the quality of the Word into our peoples lives by helping them see the greatness of the Word in this category. Don't you see? We haven't changed. The Word doesn't change. You have changed because you no longer hold to the Sure & FaithFul Word you were taught. You are the problem. If it weren't for this principle, our people could be tripped up by stumblingblocks like you. Orwell, Martindale. Kind of sounds the same to me. JT
  20. Chas quote: "JustThinking -- You just gave me a great idea! How about a version of "Present Truth" Adlibs? That could be a scream! "It is with (adverb)(advective)(verb)that we, the household of (proper noun), stand together this great day on (adjective)ground as we complete the (verb)the Adversary class that you have so (adjective) made available to us so that we can be (adverb)rooted and grounded on (possessive proper noun) Word, withstanding the wiles of our opponent." ROTFLMAO! :D--> :D--> :D--> Chas, you are brilliant! Wayfers could play it on the way to the mall to witness. The advanced version would require that the terms of the day be used for bonus points. Remember when Craig learned the word "Regnancy?" JT -->
  21. skyrider quote: "At the rate twi continues to slide into groupdom........soon, a twi follower won't be able to go to the corner store without his twig walking with him" Funny you should mention it. In the early 90s, Craig got all excited about the number "two." He used Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 a lot. 9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. 10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. 11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? 12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Typical LCM, it got taken to bizarre extremes. I actually saw our BC take someone to task because they had witnessed to a new person by themselves. What were they to do, ask them to wait there to "help" arrived? It was viewed as "well, it worked this time but..." Later, during the scheduling nazi era, this went even deeper. People were directed to schedule activities with another Wayfer whenever possible. Grocery shopping, getting your car's oil changed, whatever. ANYTHING at all.
  22. The spiritual flavor of Elmer's Glue. No taste but it makes you sick.
  23. Chas, AAAaaarrrrggghhhhhh! Doesn't it seem like they could have written a program to generate that cr**? It would have been easier. JT
