  1. Can anyone shed some light on the relationship between these two? Did Craig revere Vic or did he simply use him? Did they use each other? Was there genuine respect and love? Even for a while? Also, what was it like between them at the end?
  2. LG, Please do not give them any ideas. ;)--> I hear they practically work for free anyway. I thought of several smart a** answers to this but every one of them could have hurt someone's feelings here. To me, that is sad and shows just how many ways TWI has hurt people. Having said that, how about selling off property? Oops, did that already. Selling rehashed old material as new? Uhh.... done. Hmmm... I know, shameless begging for cash like some churches do! Oh, wait, already... Cheap jewelry? Darn, done that too. :(--> Gee, I guess they have everything covered. ;)-->
  3. Belle, Thank you. :)--> TSRTS, It's so secret, no one knows. ;)--> Doesn't that fit them though? They always acted as if what they had was so spayshul and super-duper secret that entering PFAL was like finding the holy grail. JT
  4. I vote for the "under contract to TWI" answer. If they have any guile and cunning, the lawyers would have had the in place some time ago. If they have ANYTHING going for them, it's aggressive attorneys. JT
  5. I want to be a greeter! Oh wait, this is Way-Mart, not Wal-mart. Oops. ;)-->
  6. UH, OMG, I did the same thing! Their argument was that I was not being a good steward because I couldn't deduct my ABS from my taxes. My response was that I claimed the full amount anyway. It was funny to watch them try to come up with an argument other than "we want to track you." Ok, so I was being a pain on purpose. Sue me! I wasn't giving anything at that point either. So it was true that I claimed the whole amount. Because it was nothing! :D--> JT
  7. Did they have to pay for this quote too? ;)-->
  8. Unless TWI has changed, they would use their mailing list to come up with that number. The number of people who show up at least once per week is much less. Those who actually actively participate without being pushed the whole way is VERY low, IMO.
  9. Does anyone remember when LoyBoy announced the new "designation?" It was almost as if he didn't even like it. Almost sneering. I think he preferred just calling those poor folks rude names on screeching tapes. JT
  10. Technobyte, Consider it ABS. ;)--> To do this, they would have to let their people spend money on a computer. Less ABS? Don't think so. Cassette players are cheap.
  11. Belle, Amen! Can anyone tell us about the situation at HQ while VP was still alive? How much power did he really have after putting Craiggers in charge? JT
  12. The IRS is immediately what came to mind before I even clicked on this thread. :D--> I do like the idea of a probate attorney though even more George, great idea! If I have to pick an original candidate, mine is Paw. That way, TWI's own cash (which is really our cash too) can pay for GSC to continue to help dig those poor lost souls out of hell. Think of the extra material we could post! All of the legal stuff from over the years? Wowzer! Paw would have to buy some big computers to handle the traffic load. JT
  13. I do not remember when it changed but "net", not "gross", was standard by the 90s at the latest. How did I calculate it? Flat percentage every week. However, I did have a region coordinator (in a private conversation) estimate was less that 20% of his people gave 10% or more faithfully. This was in the late 90s. JT
  14. Belle quote: Belle, Thanks for the update. I asked about this some time ago after LCM bailed or got booted. (Or after he got booty) I was told then that teaching (really just reading his silly-bus) live was "temporary." One region coordinator said it was "the best we have." Translation: "That is our only money maker right now. We are waiting on orders from the throne before we do anything new." JT
  15. :D--> :D--> :D--> THAT is what I want if I go to HQ! The lunch time microphone! That should be step number one! We get to come to a lunch meal (supper was it?) with the current Bored of Misdirectors and scream at them for an hour during lunch. And they have to do the dishes too. JT
  16. Is it maybe...SATAN?! :D--> (With all apologies to the Church Lady from SNL)
  17. Lindy, Very good points. I had very good friends who were my twig/fellowship coordinators that went to ROA after quitting their jobs. They came home unemployed with no real explanation. They were simply told they were not corps material. They didn't even know why. Sadly, they were too nice too put up a fight. My guess is they told someone about their plans to have three kids and probably looked like too much of an expense. The amazing thing is that they left and have now gone back. :(-->
  18. Eh? Is there a new class coming? Paying For Attorney Legions?
  19. Bob, Do you think so? That would be sad. Maybe they never had one of their own in the first place? JT
  20. UH, Fear would be my vote. In the end, they paint a horrible picture of "unbelievers" and their certain doom. I highly doubt that has gone away. They may save it as a worst case measure but it is still there. So much like the Adversary they claim to battle. JT
  21. Did we ever get a conclusive answer? Exie, if you don't get that money back, please consider it ABS. :D-->
  22. If you were a stiff, I mean staff person, wouldn't this be a depressing weekend? At least there is some activity around "Ho HO." Sending out the treasured BOD Ho Ho card, the obligatory phone hookup, praying until 2 in the morning for Rosie's bunions, etc. Now what? Back to pretending you're on to the next great thing, I suppose. Ugh! :(-->
  23. I would be curious to see how the psychological changes in former cult members compare to POWs. There are similar stories of awkward, painful adjustment followed by a renewed sense of living. On a lighter note, I'm thrilled for you Belle. About two years gone from TWI myself and I am just now starting to get that feeling. Congratulations! JT
  24. Well, since I only tend to wear food on my sleeve, I'll just say I'm glad you're here Mr. H. :D-->
