  1. UH, She's bean trying to squash that rumor for years. She wouldn't carrot all except it would lettuce know that she is doing these things while collecting her Way celery. While it may seem corny, she has also, while in Lima, bean seen stalking her de-tractors here. JT
  2. Satori, Is that expecations or expulsions? ;)--> JT
  3. I remember LCM saying he admired Roman Catholic leaders because they hadn't changed their positions even while playing up christian unity. In other words, "we're not changing, so YOU have to change to be more like us." Part of his belief that the Pope was trying to run christianity by 2000. Anyone remember that? Seems another one of Loys views is still in play. What a surprise! --> Note: I am NOT saying what he said is true, just repeating the gist of his comments as I 'member them. :)-->
  4. Smurfette, As happens more often than I'd like, I wasn't clear. Or maybe didn't say enough. I agree with you completely. Those who abuse or neglect their spouse habitually do not, imho, deserve to have them. A guy who hits his wife, for example, wouldn't want me for a judge. He'd be snuggling with "Bubba" for a VERY long time. In your example, I do not feel it is a valid marriage any longer. Otherwise, the one who abuses or neglects has no consequence for their action which only encourages it. HOWEVER, I feel it is impossible to legislate morally or legally a "one-size-fits-all" answer to such a potentially complex situation. I think there is a great need in these cases for a LOOOOOOOT of love and care. Either to help repair a marriage or comfort the one(s) who have been hurt. JT
  5. The "paper" is a record only of vows taken. I would love to see Bible verses that say God is indifferent to one keeping a vow or promise. To say it's "just a piece of paper", to me, is demeaning to the vows taken. JT
  6. At the end of Loy's reign, there were SO many "suggestions" that it was impossible to do them all. It was worse than trying to keep every little nit in the Mosaic law. At least those rules had logic in them. "Work every tape, magazine, teaching, syllabus, collateral, JCOPS, JCOP, etc, etc, etc. Blah, blah, blah..." We actually tried to keep up then found out the local corps were doing WAY less than we were. End of that stupidity. Thus began another phase of pulling the plug on way-brain. JT
  7. Dumbest revelation ever? That I HAD to go in the corps. Not should but HAD to do so. --> (Said by dumbest corps guy I ever met)
  8. DM, Mike, You guys are correct and I'm wrong. My new story: TWI's evil stopped on a dime... ;)--> JT
  9. You feel complimented because you happen to like the same thing someone else does? ???? I think it's Ricky Rococco. JT
  10. UH, Fire Sign Theatre! COOOOL! Mike Danger, Third Eye? We're all bozos on this board? For everyone else here, google the comedy group. Classic stuff for those who survived the chemically enhanced lifestyle of the 60s. :)--> JT
  11. WW, Only if he gives me credit. :)--> "From an anonymous poster..." LOL! JT
  12. Disconnect from reality? Unrealistic expectations of God? No sense of personal responsibility in her life? Hmmm...sound like a potential MOG to me. ;)--> JT
  13. Maybe criticizing TWI's president will be the new original sin? ;)-->
  14. Rascal, Wow! That is truly a sad story. Was she young? It's too bad someone with a little more tenderness and life experience didn't get involved. This could have turned into a great learning situation for her. I can only think of one situation where someone said something out of the blue and that God told him to do it. (No room to wiggle if he was blowing smoke) This person had no way of knowing what was going on at that very moment yet he acted as if a telegram had come in. The timing was perfect and it was amazing. The sad part is he was sent to comfort someone who had just received her walking papers from Craig with no warning. So God did work in TWI but it was to protect their own people from THEM! JT
  15. Steve, :D--> :D--> :D--> :D--> Well, this is the first century of the new millenium. ;)--> JT
  16. Steve, I think the bigger problem for them is how to explain them happening to people they claim God despises. Satori's dad was not just a non-AC Grad but an atheist! Also, TWI likes to see the world as "Us vs. them." Kind of hard to claim an exclusive on miracles. JT
  17. Did you say "how can they have such a talented Lurch? ;)--> Mr. H, You are truly brilliant! My submission for classes which will replace actual exercise: The Way of Abs and Pectorals Christian Fitness and Sex Dealing with the Carbohydrate For publications: The Rise and Expansion of the Christian Gym in the First Century The Bonehead tells me so (His autobiography) The New Dynamic Lurch (Part 2 of his autobiography) The Worms Way (Loy's guide to dating) God's Masochistic Work (Loy's employee guide) Order my sub with some cheese (Loy's guide to diet) JT
  18. Belle, How about "so what are you waiting for?! Get going!" :)--> JT
  19. Wow, this subject doesn't die. At my AC, Johnny Townsend got a bunch of questions on songs that were "off." He came on stage, kind of annoyed, and said "if you want to write better songs, we'll put them in the song book." I guess we never had people who could write music? Doubt it. -->
  20. Ah, the more abundant wife. ;)--> JT
  21. Even with good experiences, you can't eliminate the reality that there was still usually an ulterior motive. If you did get help, it was because you were in TWI not because you were you. Most, if not all, have seen what happens when you leave.
  22. Remember that TWI taught one of Eve's biggest mistakes was CONSIDERING what Lucifer had to say. I wouldn't be surprised if that was used here to beat the guy down.
  23. Abi, If they keep it as nothing more than a "yeah, I was blessed too" site then it will die out anyway. Teens aren't that stupid. That's why they're leaving when they hit 18. Smart consumers they are. JT
  24. Late 80s? Everyone seemed to help everyone. Late 90s? It was pretty much everyone for themselves. I had some really nice corpse and joe believers types over the years who were always willing to help. There are still some folks that are in (as far as I know) who would throw their coat on in the middle of the night to come help me. The corpse though now seem to think it's beneath them. They're too busy out being "spiritual." :(--> Can you say Reverend Douglas Niedermyer? ;)--> JT
  25. Steve!, This applies if you actually HAVE a life. ;)--> JT
