A theme? As in class theme?
-
I had a BC try the same thing with me. My suggestion was to let me wash the car first to make sure it stayed on well. Well...a whole lot of years later and still no bumper sticker. Ugh, those WAP class stickers were embarrassing. Perhaps they could have just said "I'm a weirdo, keep your kids away from me!"

BUMP! (Someone asked about this in another thread)

God's favorite colors? Black and Gold. Go Pens!!!! (For you hockey fans watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs) JT
-
Do we know if their numbers have gone up or down since then?
-
And to play any one of several big shots roaming around ROA... Howard maybe?
-
Is this redundant? ;) JT

What did you do with your "horn of plenty"?

Throwing away things you need only to buy them again? Once again, WHAT were we thinking!!!! Ugh... Mine? Funny, I'm not sure. Probably in a box somewhere as I now "travel heavy." Yep, I actually KEEP the things I need. Although, in fairness, TWI did give me the idea of giving things to people who needed them more than me. Why couldn't they have just stopped there? Oh well, .... JT -
Why were we wearing name badges at SNS?
JustThinking replied to fooledagainII's topic in About The Way
I think TWI was more class-conscious than the military or english monarchy. My first corps sponsorship was a couple I adored when I met them. Wonderful, kind, funny and very generous. Seeing them at ROA, all they could talk about was who they knew and hung out with. Come to think of it, that "Bible thing" never came up. I didn't even know them. Oh, and apparently Donna took her aside and taught her how to put on makeup. AARRRGGGHHH!!!! All she needed was a red nose and she could have sold hamburgers at McDonalds.... -

Hi All, Does anyone know how many old timers (Way Corps X and on) are still operating as Limb leaders and above? Or was it changed to state? Oh well, who can keep track? Are all 50 states treated as limbs or have they had to combine? Are the numbers flat or have they kept shrinking? (Note: I left about five or six years ago and haven't kept up since) JT

JustSayNO, I think you and Lindy did an excellent job encapsulating the various types in TWI. Well done. Unfortunately, it would be hard to say you are any of them and feel like bragging. "Well, it ain't great but there ain't nothin' better." How sad! Imagine if you had to describe a spouse that way?! JT OMG, I hadn't look at it in years! It hasn't changed at all. Did they M&A their webmaster too?!!! ;) JT

With their extreme "shrinkage", maybe it's all on a secret 3x5 card? ;) Seriously, when I left Corpse graduating classes were about a dozen or less. HQ staff were dropping like flies. They could hold a ROA in the auditorium. (Yes, I know they were killed off too)
-
I hope I don't. Never bought it in the first place. God was good enough to give me a set of parents who instilled some good sense even LCM couldn't remove. Thank God for parents!

Does this sound like a couple people we knew???

Wow, what were we thinking?!

Seems like a future Michael Moore movie. TWI seemed to be fairly Republican at the top so his George Soros would back him. :) Al Gore invented documentaries so I'm sure he'd get on board too. ;) Bumpy, bringing up a retirement chateau might be a sore subject for old corps folks. JT

I would say "NEVER, NEVER, NEVER" for one reason. I simply see no need in my life for it. It's not about being AGAINST something. To me, that's TWI logic. If someone asks of me, I should have a reason to do it. Some vague idea of "cause it's loving" is just more TWI. Do offshoots serve a purpose anymore? Anything that is just a reaction to something else seems destined to fade away. JT

Lindy, my man, Any growth at all? For anyone, Is TWI growing at all? Or is it still in the long term decline I remember? JT
-
Seriously? How did they come up with that? Or was it just announced and accepted as HexCathedra? ;) JT
-
All, GSC has been kind enough to let me reactivate my login after what seems like a million years. I see a lot of familiar names and many new ones as well. For those of us who haven't checked in a few years, what is TWI up to these days? I left after Craig got bounced. (One of the best things I ever did, btw) Is Rosie still around? I did see the announcement about Dave Lutz. That was a very sad "welcome back." :( I met him once at a performance in PA and he was so kind. I was a total stranger but he treated me like a long lost friend. If this is already covered in another thread, please accept my apologies now. And no squirrel throwing... ;) JT p.s. It's very good to be back!

Reproof with humor: bring a bag of old tomatoes to the next SNS
JustThinking replied to Ham's topic in About The Way
Mmm... Tomato as a tracer round Squirrels as the primary artillery I like it. I have been away from GSC forever. Are the Sunday night things still taking place? Are they still as DULLLLL as ever? Driving all that way to sit and think about what I'm going to do on Monday. JT -
I'm not much of a math person but the numbers here are staggering. It wasn't just one person who admits they stayed WAY too long. There are more here than I can count. Statistically, the evidence is overwhelming. There was strong outside influence not just poor choices. (Submitted with humility by the Discoverer Of Obvious Data Dat's Obviously Obvious or DOODOO) JT

There are examples of really bad meeting leaders in the "Cr@ppy meeting leaders" thread. It made me think of how many truly hideous teachings we endured. To be fair, some were doing their best with little or no training. HOWEVER, the rest were just torture for a lot of reasons. My favorites or least favorites? 1. Reading an entire encyclopaedia article for 30 minutes then teaching for 45. With kids there. On a school night. And having someone read a summary of the most recent teaching tape. THEN serving refreshments before starting a branch planning meeting. Again, ON A D**N school night!!!!!!. 2. Reading a Way Rag article for an hour and pretending it's a teaching. 3. A whole bunch of prayers that turned into "mini teachings." Arghhhh...!!!! 4. Any attempt by a HQ teacher to explain world events by putting TWI as the center of the universe. JT
