  1. ok, couple of things. I can talk to the other mods about reviving politics, but the problem has proved to be that neither side has been capable of a "respectful" discussion and it has only gotten worse since we expunged politics from the site. Further, it is damn near impossible to take veiled political comments as anything other than veiled POLITICAL comments. As someone who is politically savvy, I find the comment "The easiest way to confuse them is to overload them" to be inherently political even though the words themselves are not. I do not want to turn GSC into yet another political web site. But there are issues that intersect with our mission that we can and should consider.

  2. And some things never change all over every day. "If you want to mind control someone, confuse them. The easiest way to confuse them is to overload them." -- Steven Hassan

  3. I just wanted to point out for the record that Old Skool was one of the GSers who engaged in the repeated and false accusation that GSCafe had become hostile to Christian points of view. These posts on his own site put his criticisms into a larger context. We maintain that GSC is welcome to all former TWI members, whether you are Christian or not, and we encourage you to explore your faith (or loss thereof) on your terms. We've done our best to develop safe spaces where you may do so, and you can choose the extent to which you want to engage with opposing points of view. Thanks.

  4. Hope I'm not out of line saying this, but, I want to donate IF there's a small section for respectful political discussion. I believe we all can learn more from different and opposite perspectives. PLEASE consider it. After all changes are happening all over every day!

  5. There's some behind the scenes discussion but let me say without going too far that George is on the right track. Been a while since we did a good old-fashioned fundraiser, but running this ship isn't free, and Pawtucket has shouldered the majority of the responsibility for years. Personally, I give a fixed, token amount on a monthly basis and, if a dozen others did the same, Paw would be off the hook financially. "What happens if" is a question we're going to need to answer at some point as a group. Stay tuned.

  9. Sorry, I can't go this year. I have to - mmm - clip my toenails. Count the leaves on my roses. Count the hairs on my friend's head. Frankly, I can't believe anyone is really interested. And that there still seems to be an in-rez WC. Poor deluded souls.

  10. 3 things stuck out for me: 1. Hearing "the rightly divided word" used twice reminds me of the "us vs them" bias I held against other Christians. 2. "...expressed by our Founder, Victor Paul Wierwille..." shows how they are lying to their followers' faces about who this man actually was. How corrupt of an organization is that? 3. "Make your plans now and diligently prepare so that nothing hinders your participation in this splendid occasion. Believe big to overcome any obstacles." (Underlining is mine) This is not an invitation but an command wrapped up in sugar-coated propaganda. It makes me wonder what the pressure will be like by every leader on the field to get their people to attend.

  11. The list of things that Wierwille talked about that that he clearly didn’t understand would be a long one.
