  1. Both are wrong. They're both victims of their own methodology. They got out of twi, but twi has not gotten out of them. They can't help but use the same techniques that damaged themselves and others in twi- but made them both feel special. I think that one antidote to twi is HUMILITY. Otherwise, one is subject to being lifted up with pride...

  2. How do you know it's either/or? Why not throw both/neither into the mix too. Take your pick... vanity or meaningless. 1 The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem. 2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. (Ecclesiastes 1 KJV) The words of the Teacher, son of David, king in Jerusalem: 2 “Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.” (Ecclesiates 1 NIV)

  3. "This is absolutely no different than how native tribes come up with folklore. Manually filling in the detail through imagination where only the sketch of an outline truly exists." "Jesus wept." ...I think we ought to take that verse and build a whole doctrine around it. We could create a youtube channel that dramatizes the doctrine with live actors. In the opening scene, we see Jesus attending a twig fellowship, having been witnessed to by a very attractive young female WOW Ambassador. In a later episode, and without warning, he discovers he's been the victim of the old *date & switch* routine. Then, an unseen Ron Howard, acting as the narrator, proclaims with a rueful voice... "Jesus Wept".

  4. twi did that quite a bit. My usual rule is that- if twi based a doctrine on one verse or no verses, the doctrine should be presumed error until proved otherwise. So far, it's worked. I had a thread somewhere about doctrines entirely built from one verse, I think.

  5. Dispensationalism is a rationalization. It's a way of explaining away the very real contradictions that exist in the scriptures. It's a way of deluding yourself into believing the scriptures are inerrant.

  6. "Dispensationalism developed as a system from the teachings of John Nelson Darby (1800–82) who strongly influenced thePlymouth Brethren of the 1830s in Ireland and England. The original concept came when Darby considered the implications of Isaiah 32 for Israel. He saw that prophecy required a future fulfillment and realization of Israel's kingdom. The New Testament church was seen as a separate program not related to that kingdom. Thus arose a prophetic earthly kingdom program for Israel and a separate "Mystery" heavenly program for the church. In order to not conflate the two programs, the prophetic program had to be put on hold to allow for the church to come into existence. Then it is necessary for the church to be raptured away before prophecy can resume its earthly program for Israel." SOURCE

  7. Rico and many others were kept hidden while Craig was in power. Shortly after he stepped down, Rico did a Sunday teaching. My gut reaction was, 'where was this guy all this time?!?!' because he was a better teacher than Craig. Then many others started teaching, so many that I was flabbergasted by how many were kept in a closet by the egotist.

  8. Thanks Taxi! But, I think it is due more to your humility before the Lord in wanting to LIVE as He taught us we can. And, that’s by being a follower of CHRIST, and no other man or man-made doctrine. I’m happy that I could be helpful in your continued journey. Peace.
