Wow! Your story matches mine a lot! I always felt like I wasn’t good enough. My mother and stepfather (married when I was 15) were really strict with me. They had harsh rules and I felt like I was being punished for things I hadn’t done or didn’t even think of doing. My father (also an alcoholic) died when I was a senior in high school. She had cut off all contact with him and also any contact with my sister and I. So, she didn’t even let us know that he passed until it was too late to make arrangements to go to his funeral. At the time, they believed that nothing good would come of it. anyway, I am still working through all of the issues from growing up TWI. Know that you’re not alone!

I think all we have to do is look to how the ministry defined compromise for an answer to the above statement. In the real world compromise means both sides give a little to reach an agreement. However, with Saint Vic and the ministry leadership, compromise meant what's mine is mine and what's yours in negotionable. In other words, they wanted it their way and, not giving an inch, expected you to "compromise" to their position.

As to the first, there's been teachings (OFF THE RECORD, DON'T WRITE THIS DOWN GUYS WE DON'T WANT THIS TO SHOW UP IN COURT) that it's all right to lie to people who aren't in twi. Since they consider themselves the only REAL Christians, they're perfectly fine with treating others worse than they treat each other. Considering what twi'ers have done to each other, that says a lot.
