Actually, I found an analysis of PFAL using the mindset promoted by PFAL disproves Mike's thesis to the extent that he stayed off this board for more than a decade before returning to crap on the board and claim victory. If PFAL is God's Word, then PFAL has to live up to what PFAL defines as the characteristics of God's Word. It does not. Therefore it is not. "But yes it does!" No, it doesn't. "But I dodged and deflected and distracted for more than 10 years!" You did. And the errors are still errors. The contradictions are still contradictions. PFAL is not God's Word by PFAL's definition. That's a tough thing to escape. Ironically, you can make a decent case for PFAL being God's Word if you concede that PFAL was wrong about the characteristics about God's Word. But then it wouldn't be nearly as impressive.

It was stated earlier that God expects us to know what we can know by the Five Senses. So it would seem sensible to sort out this nonsense by using the five senses to infer the essence of the scenarios possible since the first century. Which means all the Laws of Physics, gnosko and whatnot. Which means we can probably calculate the time it takes Jesus to ascend and travel to the right hand of God. Multiply that by 2, and we have the return time for the trip. My 2 cents, which is three short.

maybe you are but I'm not lost in the controversy...vpw said "the word" takes the place of the absent Christ...of course, a lot of folks here realize vpw's "the word" was actually his twisted interpretation of scripture. obviously, there's some folks still lost in vpw's "the word".

Yeah Rocky, that’s a good thing to know (that you don’t need a Kindle to read a Kindle book). Although I do have a Kindle (I love my old Kindle Keyboard paper-white display) I too use the app on my computer, iPad and iPhone – especially if there are diagrams, pictures and maps with the text. I’ve already got B Russell’s book and skimmed through it this morning – very insightful, the part along the lines of institutions disseminating knowledge but not teaching how to intelligently sift through that knowledge – and that education should have an aim of expanding the mind and not narrowing it. Very applicable to all things TWI and that goes for the way corps community too - Russell’s mention of the state being over education can apply to any organization (i.e. cult) that is intent on stacking the deck information-wise and through the subtlety of propaganda “reinforces” a certain opinion.

I'm not even going to express an opinion on Mike's "...we already are into the beginning of the Return, and that it is already underway..." save to say that my understanding is that NO-ONE knows when this event will be. Though technically I suppose we have been into the "beginning of the return" (or at least awaiting the return) since the day Jesus ascended.
