I started some threads specifically to put timelines in and fill in the details on each era. I'm interested in reviving them and adding new threads for the details included in these new threads, if anyone is interested. We could try to match the events to the years they happened for easier review for those reading them over. What do the rest of you think?

OMG ... how exTREMEly thankful I am that I got out when I did! After the "diaspora" of '86 (when I made a conscious decision that it would be the last ROA I'd ever attend), the morphing into deeper levels of insane manipulation that continued to just get worse and worse as each year progressed would've been enough to cause me to become seriously mentally ill, had I stayed any longer! I feel so awful for those who did not leave then ... and for those who are still in after all these years. This history with all this detail -- (thanks Skyrider, Chockful, DWBH) -- can only do folks good -- in aiding many to escape, hopefully! Damn, I made the mistake of reading the entire 6-page, July 1994 homo-purge letter from that dickhead, LCM (that Chockfull posted just above), and I had a haunting of his disgusting voice and arrogant swagger and the LOUSY way his "teachings" (insane rantings, more like) used to leave so many of us feeling. I cannot imagine the torment so may gay and lesbian people must've experienced in those "purge" years. And all the others who were made complicit, through guilting and coersion, to "turn the sinners in"! I still cannot believe that that loser of a man -- that arrogant, self-righteous POS -- has an income for life and owns part of the Gunnison property that our hard-earned dollars supported for decades. (Hell, I was the only girl on the Paint Crew at Gunnison and I've linseed-oiled ever damn log on that property at least once!) If only someone could sue his a*@ off NOW -- someone for whom the statute of limitations might not apply. I'd take a ring-side seat for that trial! And to think that we sat through hours and hours of that asinine "Athletes of the Spirit" -- all so his humongous ego could be stroked. I really wonder if he EVER gives a thought to the damage he has caused so many of his fellow humans?

1997: In JanuaryFebruary......martindale attacked the whole issue of "gift giving" to field corps. He cited examples of BRIBERY from the scriptures and then launched into several incidents where corps received a gift from someone that, he claimed, had a bribe attached to it. No corps were to receive any gifts from their area followers.....not even some tomatoes from someone's garden. It became an insane mandate. Yet, martindale still received gifts. "Vision and Direction" policies were implemented in September. Vision and Direction 1995 Full-Time Corps "revelation" Here is a sample of reporting and paperwork sent to region/trunk: .....all the corps were inundated with reporting back to twi leadership. I tend to believe that the trunk office issued this paper blizzard to appease martinfail's screaming episodes and micromanaged leadership style. Quite obvious to me.....martinfail didn't trust the corps to do their ministerial duties. The paperwork was multi-faceted. Branch guys reported to the limb, the limb to region, the region to trunk, the trunk to bot. The following are some of the reports that I recall: --Time-Analysis Report....each week, this report was a projected schedule of the corps person's week detailing 6am - 11pm in 30-minute time slots. After about one year, lcm instructed region & limb guys to scrutinize these reports and strongly recommend changes (each week). --Witnessing Report....each week, this report was a detailed analysis of how many in your area went witnessing, the number of contacts, the number of follow-ups, the number who attended fellowships as a result, the number who signed up for WAP, etc. --Petty Cash Report....each branch, limb and region were allocated a level of petty cash. Branch corps, generally, consisted of two or three fellowships and didn't utilze petty cash reports except for times when lcm designated 8 consecutive public/formal branch meetings during the videotaping of WAP. All expenses over $100 had to be cleared by the region guy. The region guy could spend up to $300 before the trunk got involved. --Yearly Budget Reports....this report had to be cleared through twi's personnel department. With some 600+ corps/families on payroll, this was a monumental task to sort thru the "needs" of every corps family, every situation. Some parents had a child in a musical instrument class, or a karate class, or a voice lessons class, etc. Martindale blasted the corps on a corps meeting for spending "excess money" on their children. --[Note: Pet policies, gift-giving policies, pregnancy policies, traveling policies, cable tv policies, etc......these came into play as the mountain of corps expenses soared far beyond anything martindale had foreseen.] --Monthly Progress Report....(whatever it was called??) detailed each branch's progress on class sign-ups (fnd, int, ac, etc). Month after month, it seemed like there were always goose eggs (zeros) in the blanks. --Trunk Faxes.....reporting back on specific policies or corps meeting assignments was common. The corps were responsible to listen to lcm's sts tape on tuesday or early wednesday each week BEFORE the corps phone hookup. Trunk faxes were common and demanded a quick response. Sometimes, corps would be up until midnight to meet the fax deadline. --Greetings Faxed to Trunk....as the paper-insantiy escalated, the corps seemed to be competing as to who could send in the most heartfelt greeting for twi's anniversary, for thanksgiving, for twi's holiday party, for the new year's, etc. --Thank You Cards.....it became mandatory for each branch, each area to send a unique, handmade, personalized card to lcm after each WAP class. Every student was to sign the card and detail what blessed them specifically in the class. Those who had bigger branches, bigger limbs, bigger regions had MORE paperwork to do. It wasn't any secret why MANY region couples had no kids. No time.

It's interesting how we get introduced to certain musical personalities and venues.. You guys are stretching me and I like it. When you look at something through someone else eyes, or in this case ears you gain a lot. I enjoyed Adele, but I "hear" her differently now. Yeah.......2am faxes belching out mandates from hq. Think about that for a minute.......faxes going off in the middle of the night and jolted out of bed. After a few times, I expressed my anguish "what-the-hell-are-they-thinking" disapproval in an acceptable tone to my region coordinator. He said.......the trunk office was so overwhelmed throughout the day that the receptionist/bless patrol/dispatch personnel [who had lots of down-time in the wee hours of the morning] were tasked with sending out these faxes to the limbs. In other words.....NO ONE AT HQ gave a fricckin' concern about our lives, our schedule, our sleep, our wives/children sleeping. Twi hq was dead, spiritually, morally, ethically.......DEAD. The trunk personnel were dead to me. They did NOT have an ounce of concern that this "might" be an inconvenience? An annoyance? Assuming that the tables were turned and a fax machine was near martindale's bedroom in 1996......what if I sent a belching fax to Rev. L. Craig Martindale at 2 o'clock in the morning? Wanna bet that heads would have rolled for THAT BONEHEADED DECISION? Those of you numbnuts who were at the trunk.....fort, rupp, staley, idiots......had the cognition brainwaves of a bag of hammers.

The filming of the class wraps up and oh boy, we have a Hollywood Premier going on - loytoy in his Hef red velvet smoking jacket, being toured around like a superstar. This is going to change the ministry. This "new revelation" first needs to be communicated out through all the Way Tree to all the little twiggy leaflets. Except now it's not a twig it is a "household fellowship" and a "believer" (not to be misconstrued with a Belieber - fan club of a certain young pop star). We get to re-mark the education of the ranks once again. Where is this reflected first in the Way? Nametags. Of course. The nametag was oh so extra speshul in the Way. Nothing says "status" like a nametag. Now no more are the old "Adv. Class Grad" nametags of those who took the Adv. Class in the late '60's and early '70s and smoked weed on the break. No, we have a new era. Complete with new nametags. And Way Corps II tags. Oh my. With a new "green marble" finish. So speshul. I can recall being dressed down at the head table for not wearing my nametag, and mrs w having to address me as "hey you". We start running WAP classes for the masses - a little break from the monotony of logging 25 teachings a month from the collaterals. MC'ing a WAP class becomes a desired skillset. We stockpile a lot of ridiculous add-in resources. Whosoever had a bigger reprint of Michaelangelo and the Eve snake lady was the most spiritual. Other props too. The BOT celebrates with loytoy going on a trip to the Bahamas to celebrate the victory of this lifechanging class. We get a postcard with a picture. It got put on the fridge with a magnet next to the cupboard full of hamburger helper. After we were instructed to cancel our vacations and do "staycations" to save expenses, and replace traveling with vacationing locally.

When did twi's stranglehold on wierwille's mog-status, impact and legacy lose its grip? Did the stranglehold cease when many clergy/corps dissented and exited in late '70s or early '80s? Did the stranglehold cease when wierwille died in May 1985? Did the stranglehold cease when geer read "The Patriarch" paper at corps week, 1986? Did the stranglehold cease when lynn and others wrote that 37-page proclamation? Did the stranglehold cease with an exodus of a reported 80% of corps leadership? Did the stranglehold cease when dozens of splinter groups started preaching "the truth?" When did the stranglehold cease? Well......imo, the stranglehold ceased when twi-gatekeepers could NO LONGER control the message or contain the secrets. The leaders (cough, cough) who exited en masse after "the poop paper propaganda" did very little to release the wierwille-the-man-of-God vise grip. The geer camp kept beating the same drum. The lynn camp did better.....but just seemed to sidestep the wierwille doctrine/legacy in many ways. What about the finn3gan camp? The summ3rville camp? Others? The shr0yer camp seemed to embrace the wierwille doctrine more closely.....of which, the two younger wierwille kids hitched a ride to keep the embers glowing? The stranglehold was BROKEN when Waydale in April 1999 took the fight directly at Martindale and twi. The full onslaught of punches caught martindale/twi off guard and in a defensive posture. Pa-ul All3n hit them with an uppercut that left them staggering to find the ropes. From a position of husband-rage and legal strength, this man went on a relentless, 18-hours a day, flurry of punches that staggered the corporate "giant." Month after month, the scandalous secrets poured forth on Waydale. Twi mandated that their followers stay off the internet and, it didn't take long before martindale had to publically admit to this "consensual affair." Twi knew that Waydale was, indeed, a formidable foe. A second lawsuit erupted......and martindale's fate was sealed. Cover-ups. Silence. Lawyers. Depositions. The All3n lawsuit was settled out of court and sealed from prying eyes. Martindale was ousted. Within a year, 7 region coordinators had sent in their resignation letters and headed for the doors to separate themselves from all things twi. Amazingly, the loyalist trunk coordinator, panasmello around like 2004 and started on offshoot and STILL clings to wierwille doctrine (from what I've heard). Greasespot Café didn't miss a beat and picked up when the Waydale websie, under settlement agreement, was to close down. But make NO mistake.......it was NOT the staunch defectors from the 1986 exodus who broke the twi-stranglehold. Many of those men went forward to fill their pews and pockets with the wierwille-deception, the fake-truth doctrine, that they embraced.....still. They simply wanted the deception, and funneling of money, to continue as long as possible. They were, and are, complicit in leading these followers astray. Woe unto them. Waydale........thank you! Ten years ago, in early July of 1998........the advanced class was running at twi's hq. To help oversee the new students, inresidence corps were brought in from camp gunnison as branch coordinators. As twi events go, this one had all the same standard procedures and pecking order as usual. Except for one glitch........ At this event, martindale set his sights on a corps woman, a married woman whose husband and children were back at camp gunnison, and this sexual encounter brought extreme confusion, hurt, and emotional distraught to this corps woman. As this *damage* spilled over to her corps brother, who took it upon himself to personally CONFRONT CRAIG.......the damage control liasons of twi, the gun-totting guys, were unleashed to get this corps guy packing and on a bus within the hour. Others know much more of these details than me.......but it later involved a Colorado Court Case. As the phones began ringing.....and word spread of this sexcapade involving martindale and this married corps woman, it left little doubt that THINGS WERE ROTTEN AT THE WAY INTERNATIONAL. For indeed, some of us truly believed that martindale and howard and don were sincerely committed to *cleaning up the way international* and taking this *prevailing word* (cough, cough) to all who wanted deliverance. Like his predecessor wierwille, here martindale had "a secret life of lust" and was preying on the young corps women......a married woman, no less. MY FUTURE CHANGED.......with the knowledge of this!!!!! IT WAS TIME TO LEAVE TWI. Sure, I heard Cgeer's poop paper back in the day (of the power grab) .......but honestly, it was filled with SO MUCH pomp and arrogance of cgeer's "wisdom and accomplishments" that I could barely hear what he was saying. And then, with Schoenhxxt's adultery paper, the firings, the shenanigans of geer's now-you-see-me-now-you-don't.........I just wasn't ready to "jump ship" when that loyalty letter came out. WHY NOW?? WHY THE CHANGE??.............Well, for one thing, I was ten years older and had plenty of time to assimilate the geer-martindale-offshoots splintering and all that. Plus, the homo purge and the micro-management and the "promised land of the prevailing word" brought MORE and MORE LEGALISM INTO TWI. So, when this martindale sexcapade event spilled out.....at the advanced class, no less.......with a MARRIED corps woman......and hearing subsequent information from others as this information opened insider information of twi......THE SCALES FELL FROM MY EYES. So.............TEN YEARS LATER, what have I learned. Well.....Martindale was ousted two years after I left -- in 2000. And, Rosalie has done her best to squelch any information or anyone who want to resolve twi's dark issues. Plus, without a charismatic leader anymore........twi has resorted to *bringing back from the dead wierwille-idolatry and the over-the-top adulation of emeritus trustees. The Multi-Level Marketing administration is firmly in place and "business as usual" has gained residency once again.......as well as the "serf system," the corps program. Notwithstanding that twi's sunday teachings are SO BORING, AND DULL, AND READ FROM THE LECTURN each week........imo, it gives rock-solid proof that the twi religion is dead. Looking at life......TEN YEARS LATER......and life is so very good. Fresh air and skying high. skyrider

Ugh. Just reading this stuff gives me such deep anxiety. Like I said earlier, I cannot believe this Mofo is still walking around free, and set for life financially. The man needs to be behind bars -- where (and God, forgive me in advance!) maybe some brothers might acquaint him with the subject a little bit closer up and personal -- a subject he seemed way too obsessed about, if you ask me. Could it be he protested just a bit too much, as the saying goes? Seriously, this period of time in twi just screams of bondage, manipulation, fear and extreme arrogance! To think you could order people around the way he continually did -- shaming and guilting thousands along the way -- it boggles the mind. He seems to have gotten much more damaged (and damaging) after the big walk-out of so many Corps in '85-'86. He probably took it quite personally ... as he should have!! Okay, enough. thanks for the links, Chockfull I found something else interesting in the opening corps night notes: “…The spirit realm has so learned and mastered Dr. Wierwille's class that it uses it against us…” Do you realize what this means?!?! Devil spirits did not have to pay for the class nor was there a minimum number of devil spirits requirement to put a class together.

Confronts loytoy over his affair with his wife face to face. yet All3n isn't the one all glocked up in that meeting - that would be Loytoy plus Inspector Gadget. He leaves, gathers wife, starts Waydale and files a lawsuit against Loytoy naming him and the BOT as conspirators. I thought you could find that one up on Wayback documents section. The Sh1zzl3 is starting to F1zzl3. Why is this stuff problematic for Loytoy? I mean adultery isn't illegal, its just immoral and as age-old of a fall from grace as Jimmy and Tammy Faye Baker, with all the mascara. It's this little organization called the EEOC. They are the ones that have the laws in place in our country to prevent Sexual harassment in the workplace. It is there where is defined a "quid pro quo" sexual relationship as being against the law and something someone can sue for. This impact isn't so much in the first lawsuit with Allen, who shotgun broadcast a bunch of stuff and had a settlement. This queued up a cute and perky little blond stewardess whose husband used to run the Rock in a secondary lawsuit - quid pro quo. 'Da Fog Years - TM. 1985 - 1989 Basically after Yak twig stuff, that group kept wandering around like they got hit by a bus for a while. Geer tried to teach some BS on Corps nights about Legalism vs. Grace - some attempt at hypnotic mumbo jumbo about how he was the true ambassador of grace and everybody else has fallen into legalism like the 1st century church. Geer published to books that were by VPW but said "edited posthumously by CG". A real necromancer of a guy. He also was real mean and ADHD so eventually he lost interest tormenting the BOT and flew back to Europe to bring the blessing of his personality back there. Eventually loytoy figured out the fork sticking in his eye was being wiggled from overseas, and gathered cowterd and dingdong out of their combined drooling state, and they basically signed a document telling Geer to f off. Well, it started as a document. Then it turned into a teaching. Then it turned into teaching the book of Galatians. The Galatians tapes. Part 1 and Part 2. Oh my. The drama. The emotion. The discerning of spirits. The number of things orbiting around Geer's head - straight out of a scene from the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. His face even transfigured itself into Dr. Wierwille once accidentally when reproving loytoy. Oh, and also, this teaching series was the first to feature the "F" word in all parts of speech in a sentence - noun, pronoun, verb, adjective, and adverb. Masterful piece of work there. In the midst of this, what else do we need to have? Purges, of course. The "loyalty" purge. Loytoy sends out a letter to all Corps asking people to respond who they stood with. A popular response was "why God and His Word of course". BZZZT. Wrong answer. People stood "with" the apostle Paul, not just with God and His Word. You are foggy my friend. You probably need to hear the Galatians tapes, which will be running for all believers on the field. Except Adv. Class grads only on Pt. 2 with the unique adjectives. So the "loyalty" purge in various stages consumed about 4/5 of the leadership of the Way - 80% of the Corps left, along with about that many in the ministry. Walter tries to teach Thessalonians on Corps night, or reteach the Univ. of Life Thess actually. It is horrible. A snooze-fest. Loytoy decides since he is all that in a set of tights that he can fire the research department and just teach it all himself. Except he knows jack about research. So he taps Wayne to do it all. He starts teaching Acts - the 8 sections from somewhere. Writes the Rise and Expansion book. Does R & E weekends at Emporia and around the country to try and regain some of the 80% that left. Re-does the Foundational Class. Comes to the premier in I swear to God an identical robe that Hugh Hefner wears in public. New concepts come from all this Acts stuff. Loytoy gets the heavy revelation that the Word is Over the World. Yeah, we have accomplished it. Since the PFAL class has been available in every region of the world since sometime, it has been available for everyone in the world to get the Word. So what's next? Why, "The Prevailing Word" tm - to the world. And of course we don't need WOW's anymore. It's Way Disciple - the disciplined ones. No more going to the Rock and believing God for your money for WOW cutting hair. We're prevailing baby. More later....

Absolutely WordWolf! This thread was really informative! I was very active at Waydale and involved much with the Allen lawsuit as a witness. I remained active with the early beginnings of the GSC, but took a hiatus from 2001-2007 to attend to the messy things of life. I returned to the spot in September, 2007. On October 1st I started the IS the Crisis over thread now in the CES/STF subforum. That's when I got to know all the cafe regulars and was often involved in the various threads, mostly in About The Way. So, all the threads and info contained here in the GSC booths from 2001-2007 are basically new to me. That's why I really appreciate you bumping this one up WW! I think your idea of a year by year or multi-year "diary" is excellent! And, if there was ever a perfect man for the job, it's you for this! To me, the mission, purpose and reach if the Spot has always been the single best place anywhere to get the REAL scoop about TWIt in all its iterations. As I said somewhere before, with Charlene, Kristen, and Karl's books, and the treasure trove of information here at the Spot, we have an opportunity to once and for all just wipe out TWIt beyond its crumbling New Knoxville walls of lies, obfusfcation, and disinformation. T-Bone. You just absolutely floored me with that video showcasing something I thought i would never see. I have Never/ Never/ (NOT ONCE EVER) seen Sam wearing a suit and tie until this video tonight. He shows up at my home town of Bloomington Indiana occasionally to do shows/ concerts at the IU Music Auditorium with folks like Edgar Meyer and Mark O'Connor, and Mom sends pictures from the local paper to me because she knows I'm interested.. In those pictures of the concerts, Sam actually has tucked his shirt into his pants, and I joke with her "It must be a formal concert, eh? He has his shirt tucked in." I never thought I'd see the day where he was wearing a suit and tie. Wow!

Yeah Don’t Worry, I don’t know the first thing about vocalists but something about KD Lang – maybe it’s her range especially the low end that reminds me of Adele. Both are great vocalists…which reminds me - I love to watch the fun Adele has with James Corden in carpool karaoke: I got turned onto the James Gang by a drummer I use to jam with – and since he knew what a bass-aholic I was, the first tune he played for me was Funk #48 (on the LP it precedes Bluebird); I actually prefer it over the Funk #49 you posted though both are good tunes - #48 has one of the thickest and growly bass tones I’ve ever heard (Mel Schacher – bass player for Grand Funk RR has a similar sound) – it has that announce-your-presence-with-authority feel to it; my friend said something like “that bass just so dominates over the guitar, drums and vocals”…I said “there’s other instruments on that tune?” Don’t Worry reminisced in an earlier post of folks exchanging tunes for a great pastime. That made me think of the wonderful interaction when two music lovers get married. Tonto turned me on to so many great singers/song writers/musicians….one of our fondest early memories of musical blending was when I rigged up an attenuating patch cord to connect her piece-of-furniture-stereo-console-with-turntable to a TEAC cassette recorder I bought at a garage sale; we made a compilation of tunes by taking turns playing a song in response to each other’s selection…it was a one-of-a-kind-personal-playlist-for-two cassette tape – too bad all I had was an 8 track tape player in my van Anyway…. speaking of great music you find thru a friend - Tonto got me into Lyle Lovett – so Dave, this clip is for you – it’s Sam Bush playing with Lyle…

By this time Rosie is on the BOT and Vice President. dingdong retires and falls asleep probably from too many Kools like dad. cowterd is forced into retirement. he bebops around for a while and later shows his inbred nature by marrying dingdongs widow. Rosie power plays Loytoy into accepting that he can't be President with all these outstanding lawsuits to deal with. During this time Rosie develops one of her tightest and most prized relationships - that with a lawyer named Columbo. So Rosie and Columbo get together and piece together the clues they confront loytoy, and I'm thinking this had to be on tape, because there was no way to capture quickly enough all the conquest names pouring out of the confession that anyone could write it down, even in shorthand. The mogfodt harem is exposed. Names in there are astounding, until you consider the greater context of the way's culture being more inbred than any backwoods town in West Virginia ever could be. The list was there to be dealt with later. Loytoy is put on a short leash. Actually we learn he was put somewhat on a short leash by Rosie earlier after the Indiana incident - she put him on a schedule and made him report in and submit a plan and actual to keep him out of trouble. Since a universal truth is sh1t flows downhill, loytoy puts similar pressure on b1ll gr33ne the trunk coordinator and that's when we get all the pressure for schedules. Planned and actual. Although B1ll is a tool and like your average TWI top leader sycophant puts more pressure on you than the leader puts on him. Initially when Loytoy steps down, he is put in charge of research. he can huff and puff a bit back and forth with W@yne. However, very shortly, Rosie secures D0nn@s 100% cooperation and expells Loytoy from Jerusalem. I had pieced together that P@ul got a 7 figure settlement with a confidentiality clause from his lawsuit, meaning he'd have to give it back if he kept up with Waydale or similar activity. This is not normally how I would approach writing or talking about it, but to me in spite of loose organization what i like about it is it offers so many others the opportunity to "open source" the story. One huge collaboration effort, like Wikipedia. to me it makes it more complete of a story and with your details more accurate. Initially people criticized wikipedia as a source being biased and inaccurate - I remember one point in college not being allowed to use it as a source on papers. Over time the peer reviews and corrections turned that around in a lot of instances. It still is problematic in the area of focused bias. A great example of that is looking up The Way International on wikipedia and comparing what you see there to details you might find at GSC. The differences you see you can attribute to Rosie's Great Whitewashing Campaign. Does that mean these stories we are telling here are going to be biased and inaccurate? Well, I've come to the point of view that any retelling of history introduces bias, as it is written from a person's viewpoint. Accuracy is going to be increased by collaboration.

Apparently people had started going into the Corps for less lofty reasons. In fact many of them - gasp - had gone in just to become a good fellowship coordinator. We need to purge them to bring expenses in control. We are hemorrhaging funds, and we have do do something to cover it up. loytoy admitting it wasn't revelation to send Corpse fulltime wasn't going to happen. So let's distract by other activity . Purge purge purge. Corpse are to be branch coordinators and above, not fellowship coordinators. If they did not have that ability, then they were to be dropped from the Corpse. DFAC. Mass confusion among the rank and file. Hurt, turmoil - you know, the norm. Whatever vision it was that sent Corpse into the Corpse, now they are questioning. The rocket scientists on the BOD figured out that it was actually that group that was the most profitable to the Way. Habitually sacrificed themselves. Worked 2 jobs. Sent in $$$. Put up with all the antics. And now they are upset and many are leaving. To turn the tide, revelation changes again. Now instead of DFAC, we are going to praise these people and let them know they fulfilled their vision. "Corps Alumni" is a term that is invented, and from that point carried on ever since. These people are to be the salt of the earth the household fellowship coordinators the advanced class grads the abundantly sharing populace. A new layer in the caste system fits the bill. Not only this, but we have the perfect setup for even more political purges. You have a Corpse Alumni group with thwarted life goals. And you have fulltime Corps. Perfect formula for the one to grow to hate the other. Over the years this will provide a great harvest of confidential informants, of great use to purge even further.

Rock of Ages 1995.........was the last one. Good riddance. Rather than give a lengthy review.......here is a timeline: March 1995 -- after corps placement mtgs, lcm declared "revelation" of for all active corps full-time corps. August ---- corps met with B. Th0rpe, PR-guy, during corps week to discuss needs-based salary. Rock of Ages was an out-of-control disaster......martindale turned it into a class, of sorts. Corps and parents were confronted publically to know where their teenagers were at all times. September ---- at first corps meeting, dial-a-corps-night, lcm stated that it was the last roa. Also, no corps were to attend Dallas 'Adv Class Special' unless invited by trustees. Everything changed......BECAUSE all active corps were now ON TWI-PAYROLL. Besides the allegations of "homo infiltration into twi".......I believe that martindale had NO CLUE of the financial ramifications of putting all corps on full-time staff. That meant.....EVERYTHING that the corps were legitimately doing for twi was attached to financial decisions. Travel, gas, motel, food, snacks, cable tv, pets, etc. etc...... every aspect of the corps was NOW under a microscope. THAT is why, I believe, that the roa was cancelled.......imagine all the expense incurred by corps and family to travel across the usa and attend corps week and roa? THAT is why on the first corps night of 1995, martindale stated that NO CORPS should plan to attend the Dallas 'special' unless specifically invited (to work).......BECAUSE then, technically, if many came, they'd turn around and include all their expenses on a petty cash reimbursement form. After 1995 ROA......every corps person was slated for extreme scrutiny to see if they were "spiritually worthy" of being full-time. During that first month in September, my region coordinator was tasked by martindale and trunk office to ELIMINATE CORPS FROM PAYROLL. Yes, within a matter of weeks......8 corps in my limb were told that they didn't measure up and needed to go get a secular job. Double speak was everywhere. Soon......martindale came up with that term "corps alumni" to add another distinction to being faithful to twi, but not active (full-time) corps. Money, money, money.......the trunk office had to triple their staff to handle all the financial statements, reimbursements, faxes, updates, etc. It was absolutely crazy times. The trunk office was actually sending the limbs faxes at 2AM to stay ahead of all the sheetstorm. Imagine what it was like?.......the fax machine started cranking off sheets of paper at 2 in the morning AT THE LIMB and wake me up!! Damn Nazi-Leadership......fricckin idiots. .

Having left in 1986, the details of what transpired at NK and the other "root locales", or in the various regions and limbs after then, are known to me only second-hand. So, firsthand, eyewitness reporting such as your's, documenting the years from 1986-2008 is very interesting to me. Donna Lombardi and I spent our 4th corpse interim year in NC. Our very first job, even before going to our assigned areas/jobs, was to run a PFAL Family Camp at Billy Graham's Retreat Center, Christ Mount in Black Mountain, NC. We went there immediately after the ROA in August, 1974. The camp was a film class run in a week as a family camp. David Turk, recent 3rd corpse grad and newly assigned LC, was the class coordinator. I was his assistant. The other 4th corpses, Joel Burke, Charlene Little, Donna Lombardi, and Lori Dubofsky were also on the class team and Pilot Council. Rosalie Fox Rivenbark was a new student in that class. Each new student had a grad "sponsor" who was their official best buddy and undershepherder. Rosalie was a High School English teacher in New Bern, NC. Her sponsor was Miller Harrison, an educator also from New Bern, whose eldest son Stephen, and Stephen's best friend, Jeff Mohn had actually witnessed to their teacher.
